Competitive isn't everything. I did it on Y just because I wanted to female Fennekin to play with in-game. Male Delphox just seems weird to me, and the same goes for Primarina.

Sure you could just get one of GTS/wonder trade later, but for some its not the same as having it as your actual starter Pokemon.

Can someone who embraced the spoilers tell me how the Battle Tree works, or rather what options you have with it? Is it just another Battle Maison with the added functionality of recruiting famous trainers or is the more to it?

And is there something else in the lategame which isn't an epilogue like the Delta episode? Not counting stuff like catching all Pokémon or something like that.

according to someone I stalk on twitter, SM postgame is promising based off of some bullet points, There's also collecting all the Zygarde Cells, and it's apparently a bit meatier than most games. Also a bit harder, which is nice

They DON'T raise IVs, they change the stat to make it LOOK like it's max IVs. AKA, you can have ANY Hidden Power you want without affecting your stats!

That's what I've heard. And that's what it looks like looking at the encounter rate data. In some circumstances it appears to have a 20% encounter rate, but people who have played the game do not seem to know what exactly. Hopefully it'll become clearer when it's officially out.

Apparently one way to get it easier is taking advantage of the "Pokemon calling for help" mechanic. Apparently Corsolas will call for Mareanies sometimes, and Corsolas have like a 5% rate instead at some points. So...an option. Increased chance of HA that way, which is something since I think Regenerator is the HA. Though I want a Merciless personally.

The calling for help thing is apparently the cool and new way to hunt for shinies, which is unfortunate, with the HA thing...I want a shiny Salandit but I don't want a HA one, ya know? Corrosion is way better than Oblivious. Haven't heard anything about Ability Capsules working on HAs this gen so that's gonna be tricky.
