The quality of my digital camera isn't that much of a step up really, but the anti-shake feature really helps make my images come out much more detailed.

Are you using the flash on your digital camera? Because I find that using flash generally makes photos appear worse. Yes, it does have its uses, (it's incredibly effective for back-light compensation,) but I find photos turn out to be of a better quality when you adjust the exposure settings (ISO, shutter-speed, aperture, etc.)
