That was a really exciting episode, it's nice to see how all the units in play hold more or less the same weight, giving use even to the Workers, the ship tactics were pretty fun, and I love how wired weapons continue to be a major player, absolutely loved the fight between the Barbatos and Hyakuri.

I'm always fond of characters that are all about having fun, the biscuit line was great and her MS is pretty sweet, so she's cool in my books. Quote:
Though I never realized they took the Schwalbe Graze shield. |
Quick question for anyone who bought HG Gundam The End:
Are the fingers on his larger hands slice-able? From the looks of it, they're connected together but have their own individual ball joints when installed onto the palms. Was wondering if some quick slicing in between each assembly will allow them to move more freely, splay out and such without compromising stability. |

So I was reading Gundam the Origin 9 a few days ago.Something fun that finally made sense to me in 0079 Gundam that didn't really have anything explain it was Tem Ray. From the 0079 movies I got the impression that Tem Ray was just a crazy old man off his rocker that I didn't see much of up until that point. But then the Origin explains the backstory on the Gundam and Tem Ray leading the project and it cast a whole different light on him. I got to the part where he meets Amuro by chance and gives him the circuit thing and Amuro said he had this Oxygen condition I had never heard of before. Looking it up, it was a mental condition from lack of oxygen that messed up your mental state in a lot of ways. Which totally makes sense since he got blasted off in the destruction of Side 7 and was probably floating out there a really long time.
TLDR: Tem Ray wasn't just some crazy old guy, he was a brillaint man who built the Gundam that suffered mentally from a lack of Oxygen due to being in space too long. |
So Gundam Thunderbolt release details just dropped. It's not a TV series like some uninformed people thought it was. But its not an OVA either. Then what the hell is it? I'm glad you asked!
Its a 4 episode series, each being 18min long, that you can only get through Bandai digital services. There's gonna be a few showings at the Gunpla expo and a 4K trailer released and the 1st episode releases at Christmas. I'm kinda disappointed with this honestly. Why only 4 18 minute episodes, why not go all in? And people are pissed that the dude who wrote Valvrave is writing this. |
RD Barbatos is one of the things my money is going towards, saw the initial images and just, need.

Just got the next two kits today. Have to say it's a nice change from the Graze. Started with the Hyakuri: got the upper body done and it's nice but man that thruster unit is BIG... so glade they included one of those cheap stands in nice clear plastic. One real cool thing about the Hyakuri is that color separation is really well done. More to come STAY TUNED!!!

Also getting the Mikazuki character stand in December now, should work just fine with the Robot Damashii, it's all Bandai anyways and the RD's should be the same size as the model kits. |

Episode 8 of Iron Blooded Orphans was fantastic like usual. I'm a little weirded/ creeped out by the all female crew ship being all the wives of that one dude. So there's probably gonna be no shipping. Hell, in the show itself, the sexual tension/angst has already started.I am a fan of that one girl though with the light blue hair and the orange suit, she hasn't piloted an MS yet but she's gorgeous.
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/...20151118062201 It was also cool to see Orga mature a little bit learning what true leadership is and showing to be a little vunerable. It was also cute to see Atra and Kudelia get more in touch with their feminine sides interacting with those babies. We've come a long way from the days of 0079 MSG where Tomino was stupid enough to put shitty kids old enough to go around and cause trouble but young enough to not contribute to combat/the story. |

Rest of the episode was cool though, nothing major happening but still interesting. |

I thought the kids were fine. They didn't do anything all that annoying (I mean, worst thing I can remember is they brought a vacuum onto the bridge).
Like, you can probably find child characters actually more annoying than those kids. Hell, I felt brain damage raraiya was the most annoying. |

Good for you I don't. And? It still doesn't change the fact that right after the episode they're introduced they're all revealed to be the wives of their boss. |

The other time he killed someone was after both agreed in a duel to the death and his opponent begged Mika to kill him. Of course he’s cold about it, but there’s a reason for that. And that makes him an interesting character as opposed to the whiny ,stupid teenage boys I’ve seen in every other Gundam so far. Quote:

And it’s still the first major flaw in the show so far, everything else comes down to personal preference. Because no matter if you like Mika or not, his behavior is an important part of the show and fully intentional. |
Normally I'd say that them all being his wives sunk any "ships" fans could make, but knowing the internet, a little thing like being married won't stop shippers from paring off Tekkadan boys with less prominent wives.
Also, didn't think Mika would be worried about being ditched. Nothing about Orga suggested he'd even consider that, but hey, people come up with weird ideas. I think this was also the first time we saw Orga this vulnerable or unsure of himself also. Interesting episode. |

My gain I would think. It makes them feel less like characters in their own right however. I would personally consider a boring protagonist a major flaw myself but that's me. It also makes IBO*in it's current state anyway* unwatchable to me as unlike Wing IBO has no other main characters who act as foils to Mika's coldness and ruthlessness. PS: I'm not insulting anyone for liking IBO I get why people like it. It's the "mature and serious" Gundam show that people have been asking for since AGE ended. I get it, it just isn't a show for me. |
Blu-Ray.com did their review on the first Gundam 1979 blu-ray set. They give the video quality a low score. I still want to get it though.

I read almost all of the chapters from Gundam Thunderbolt that were unofficially translated into English, just to see what it was about and give you guys a heads up on what to expect from the Thunderbolt anime. Mind, you I was sort of reading faster then I normally do, but here's my impressions.
I like Thunderbolt. From the first fight it has an interesting setup and creates an interesting parallel between the two sides. Just from that both Io and Darryl listen to jazz, to that they both have love interests on their ships that knew them since childhood, and have scarred pasts. This also continues with how each side loses, with a sort of equivalent loss for each side in the big end battle of the 1st Arc. While some people may be annoyed there's not a definitive winner as of currently, I think some may like it. I tend to be more interested in Io as his story actually kinda expands the lore of U.C. a bit with the story about Side 4 and the Mua Brotherhood and kind of their reputation and why they get the Full Armor Gundam in the first place. While from how far the English translation has gone isn't too much, it does at least gives some characters to a previously unexplored area in the Earth Sphere. Darryl and his constituents kinda just go "Oh look! We're doing secret military experiments for Zeon!" Yeah, get back in line Living Dead Division, right after the Flanagan Institute from 0079 and whatever the hell Aina's brother was working on in 8th MS team. The MSes in Thunderbolt are sort of interesting too. They all have backpacks that would make Cosmic Era Mobile suits ashamed of themselves. They all have these sort of robot arms that help them grab/hold other stuff such as beam sabers, extra shields, guns, e.t.c. Like imagine the little shitty arms from a Ball and that's what they look like. The Full Armor Gundam itself is just a massively armed monster for no reason other then show. This fucking thing gives Full Armor Unicorn a run for its money in terms of ridiculous fire power. I hope in the anime they give a good reason why everyone is so heavily armored in this area whereas everyone else in the One Year War is going bare. Now there is something you all should know about Thunderbolt is that it sort of goes past the One Year Year in terms of its story. I mean, you see Aboa Qu fall and you read that the agreement was reached, but the manga says that half of the Zeon forces haven't given up yet. So it may or may not be in alternate continuity? All depends on if the anime gets to that point and what they decide to do with it. I wouldn't put it past them as the opening for Zeta says any major war hasn't happened since 0079 but 0083 still had shit go down. But I hope they use sort of Thunderbolt section as sort of a self contained story, at the very least. |

Oh well. |
They probably expected dynamic shading or some shit added in.

It's an HD version of a late 70's cartoon!? there's only so much you can do.
