OH god, Shizuka is annoying as hell. However, just wait until BoukenSilver comes in, the show goes starts to go downhill with his introduction.

Started watching Dairanger and while I'm liking it so far, TV-Nihon's partial translations (which are worse than usual) aren't doing me any favours. To anyone who's watched most of if not all of their version, do the subs get better as it goes on? Am curious because the early episodes look like they were done a while ago and it could just be a case of early Nihon I guess.
I'd rather not download an entirely new set of episodes unless I really have to. |

Other than that, though, I've found the TVN subs to be reasonably satisfactory. And I'm saying that as someone who prefers full and localized translations over the more literal style TVN uses. |
That's good then, I should be able to keep up with their version then since I've managed for most of their other releases. Thanks for the response.

Just started watching Go-Onger and finished up episode 8. This is my first, non-anniversary season Sentai.
And I think the idea of talking Zords is both hilarious and awesome. :lol |

Here: Kenpō (拳法?) is the name of several Japanese martial arts. The word kenpō is a Japanese translation of the Chinese word "quánfǎ. This term is often informally transliterated as "kempo", as a result of applying Traditional Hepburn romanization,[1] but failing to use a macron to indicate the long vowel. The generic nature of the term combined Developed in 1932 by Muneomi Sawayama, the art places an equal emphasis on striking techniques using hands and feet, immobilization and controls, projections and take-downs. |

I'd suggest getting the next episode you have from both groups, watch both, and decide which you like better. As for "kenshi" and "kenpou"...Those are the first 2 Jin episodes if I'm remembering right (Awesome character, by the way). I don't think the subs I watched used those terms very much if at all. I can't remember the wording, but Jin was using a speciality fighting style and Ryou was training to counter it. Considering whatever they're showing is probably not the real style anyways, that's all that you need to know and I thought their subs got that across well enough. I haven't seen TV-N's sub of the episodes, so can't say weather they got the point across as well. PS If you have to explain it, it's not well subbed. Just saying. |
Yeah, I flicked through the HON/H-S sub too and wasn't completely satisfied with that either (am I right in saying they kept RyuRanger etc, but translated RyuuseiOh? That kinda bugs me) but being bombarded with a wall of text sounds pretty appealing right now. It was kinda the last straw when I saw the word "spear" in Japanese and then at the top "TL Note: Spear" :lol
Will take your advice and watch my next episode (which will be 6) with both and see which I prefer :) |
i started up on dairanger again, i had watch most of it but forgot where i was so just stared over =P
