1. Say what you want about the show, but Nininger does have some very nice looking suits. The difference about the shurikens on their helmets alone, makes them stand out, and the band they have across them just adds to the look. Such a pity they were wasted on such a crap show. 2. Gokaiger, is a overrated series, and for good reason. But one of the things that stands out in the show, is the pirate motive, and the suits only help that. The personality in the helmet design, shows a bit of what each rangers personality is like underneath the suit. 3. While 80's Super Sentai shows, weren't the best, in writing or action, the suits did look good for the time. At number 3 I have Maskman. There was always something that stood out to me about the suits. The individual ranger suits work well together especially the red ranger. 4. Dekaranger, captured the look of a police team in a stylistic way, with the visors being huge. SWAT mode is a very nice power up for the team. In action or not, the suits are visually striking and leave an impression. The similarities and difference with each suit makes them unified, and feel like a police force you don't want to mess with. 5. While some may argue the quality of the show, Goseiger had some nice looking suits. The large tribe logos on their chest, and the different helmet prints on the sides looks very nice and makes them stand out from the rest of the franchise. The white pants is something not commonly seen in the franchise, and really break the color scheme, in a good way by connecting the helmets and suits together. |
It might be time to update mine because last time I posted, we didn't even have the official romanization for Toqger xD
Okay, here we go: 1. Goseiger I really dig the jackets. The whole color scheme with gold and white + ranger color just works incredibly well (especially for the show's theme) and the tribe logo on the chest really fits into that. While I'm usually not very fond of helmest with lips, I actually like it with the Goseiger design. I also love how the animals' jaws define the shape of the visor. 2. Ninninger That sash. It literally made me fall in love at first sight with the suits. What I also really like is that the girls have overknee boots (or it's more like shoes with socks), it's kinda cool to have the girls' suits be more than just: male suit with a skirt. The shuriken visors work extremely well, especially with the silver part and they kinda fit the characters' personalities. Also, I like the part on the helmet that sticks out because it looks like some kind of traditional Japanese hood/ headwear (I don't know what it's called, but I remember seeing that before). 3. Hurricaneger I like wafu Sentai designs, Shinkenger and Kakuranger would probably be part of a top ten. What I like about Hurricaneger is the kind of warrior look, with the chainmail style sleeves. I also like that Blue has the chainmail look on her pans, which makes her suit kinda look like a dress. The golden highlights give them a very royal look, it makes you think "these guys work for some noble person, a shogun or maybe even the emperor!". Sorry Shinkengers, but this just gives me more of a "Tenkagomen" feel than your outfits ;) Also, the removeable visors were pretty cool. 4. Toqger This one comes and goes lately, but I still like it a lot. It's extremely simple, which helps the whole Norikae gimmick work very well. Also, the design just nails the theme, with the locomotive-shaped helmets, the rails on the helmet and chest and the numbers. Also, gotta love 6#'s moustache and suspenders xD 5. Megaranger Like the Toqgers, I like how simple these are. The small highlights here and there give them this kind of youthful look and I love the envelope emblem on their belts. The visors look super-futuristic, which gives them something timeless in combination with the youth theme and I totally dig the electric devices lighting up onside that black sphere thing. To give some honor to individual suits of teams I haven't mentioned on the list, here are some favs (no particular order here): KyoryuViolet I love the color they used here and the shape of the helmet is adorable, especially with the mouth plate and visor being heart shaped. What I really admire is how this design works for both a male and female character despite this adorable look. The Kyoryuger suits are pretty cool in general, but this one is by far my favorite. Thinking about it though, I also really like KyoryuGold... AbareKiller Those stripes. While all Abarangers have them and AbareBlack's pattern and color theme is really cool too, I think they work best on AbareKiller. The whole design gives him this wild and fierce look, especially the red visor, which kinda reminds me of a scar. The gold highlights and the shoulder plate make it look noble at the same time which just emphasizes Mikoto's personality. That rich bastard xD GaoSilver Two words: Dog ears. He shares this trait with Go-On Black (which is my favorite design out of the Go-Onger suits too), but also has this uniqueness. I like silver and blue as a color combination, so the stripes are just gorgeous imho. Also, I'm kind of a fan of one arm being a different color, so additional points for that. Also, the sash-like stripes on the Gaoranger suits are one of my favorite parts of the show's designs so yeah for GaoSilver having that too! (GaoRanger itself is pretty high on the list as well) DekaSwan So yeah, DekaMaster is more popular/badass and got more screentime BUT I always preferred DekaSwan. While I do find the cat-like helmet more fitting for her Power Rangers counterpart, I do like how they basically made it fit swans... ear-things...? The lights on the side of it give it this really cool alien-look. I also like the shape of the chest-piece, as well as the overall pattern and color scheme of the suit. Also, having Swan technically wear the suit under her labcoat is just brilliant xD GekiChopper Speaking of the white and orange color theme, I also like GekiChopper. While the helmet is somewhat bulky, it does nail the Rhino motif and just fits Ken perfectly. I really dig the Keikogi design with the obi and some orange highlights here and there and the SRTC symbol on the side instead of the front like the other Gekirangers. It also looked pretty cool on GokaiPink, btw. |
