What exactly do I need to play The Next? I got the file but I have no idea what to do with it.

I'm downloading them both, but I'm assuming you downloaded just the subs, but not the video file, which is why it's split up.
Just download them both and place them in the same folder, and the subs should play on the video.

As The Next is feature length, do we want to split it off on it's own week; ie, week 1 is The Next, week 2 is Nexus 1-3? Just a thought, thanks!

Hopefully somebody finishes seeding Ultraman Nexus, I have the first 13 episodes at 100% but the overall seed stopped at 87% so the rest of the episodes are only partially complete.

Is Ultraman Nexus animation done better than Mebius? Because as much as I enjoyed the first episode of Mebius I don't think I could continue with it. So I'm just wondering if Nexus is better because I want to watch, I just don't know if it's my cup of tea.

Edit: I watched the opening theme of Nexus and well it intrigues me a lot so I'm in.
