Kaori's crush on Ryu was an ongoing thing throughout the entire series. It was part of the reason why Gai gave Ryu so much attitude.

My experience with the sci-fi/fantasy fandom doesn't lend me to believe the consistency of people's moral compasses. And as I said, the show doesn't say his actions are good, so I don't know where that notion is coming from.

And I mean, I don't entirely consider forgetting about three of your main cast and then just having the villain give up the best story possible. In fact, I'd consider that a pretty bad story.

Batman: TAS, Voltron: Legendary Defender and Samurai Jack are pretty solid shows for kids. I normally don't even care for American kids cartoons, but I do feel like Gravity Falls, the new Duck Tales show, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Steven Universe do put a lot of effort into them.

Japan is far from being the best when it comes to making kids shows (Toku shows like Kamen Rider Ghost or Shonen anime like Black Clover are nothing to write home about).

The reason why Megatron gave up is because he saw the error of his faction's ways due to having been oppressed by Unicron the Chaos Bringer until Optimus exorcized Unicron out of him. As Optimus once said in the show proper, " Everyone possesses the potential for change."

Yeah, it's not done well at all and leads to one of the worst ends to a Megatron in the entire series. Imagine if they had bothered to actually build that up over the series, and not just have Megs act like an idiot the entire time.

Like how there are far too many named Decepticons in RID2015 for any of them to get even a lick of worthwhile character development? And they seriously need to retire the phrase "Robots in Disguise" and think of something new. They hinted at the plot point of Megatron being oppressed by Unicron in the movie in the 4 parts of Season 1's finale.

I actually do prefer the less developed Decepticons in RiD because they had better designs than any of the Cons in Prime, barring Soundwave, and even if they weren't incredible, they were all at least fun.

I sure as hell will remember Springload longer than guys like Skyquake and Makeshift.

EDIT: You're also saying that like any of the Decepticons actually got any character development. They were generic baddies for the most part, and the two that weren't got killed off before their arcs actually went anywhere.

Goddammit, last time I had a similar argument to this I pointed out my love for Berserk and Devilman Crybaby, stuff I'd love to recommend to everyone but may not be suitable for some people. What Gai did in that scene is the equivalent of you being upset and a guy saying "I'LL CHEER YOU UP" by forcing you on your knees and pulling down your pants to hump you.
And Kaori kept fawning over Ryu to the point he said something along the lines of "I'm flattered but I'm still griefing over the loss of my girlfriend, Gai genuinely likes you, go date him" to which Kaori replies "Then I'll try even harder to win you over" because she's an awful human being who doesn't get the concept of loss.

See above, the fact she has many episodes which are "Aaaah I don't want to do the thing I'm scared I'm going home" despite knowing what she signed up for

I don't remember the specifics, but you're acting like I'm ok with it in other scenarios, which if true, can have build up, major shake ups and character development. For Papa Smurf it's just "Bwahaha I'm SO evil!" to the point he fucks up
