Well, consider how in much of children's fantasy, Dragons are evil and Fairies are good. Add the "Good Always Triumphs Over Evil" moral to the mix and it all makes sense.

But how will Dark affect Fairy? Or Ghost and Psychic? Or even Bug considering what Fairies tend to look like.

Sorry, but a Barbie Fairy was the only decent one I could find to explain my point.

Considering Pokemon has always tried to paint Dragon types as the docile giants (Outside of Iris's Dragonite), who are only angry when provoked, I don't think so.

And so far, none of the Fairy types we've seen even come close to matching up to that x3

So the private round table is happening right now about X and Y... All we've gotten so far is, essentially, "there's a shitton of words in the game." xP

I'm honestly wondering if they'll change Togepi's evolutionary line's type to Fairy. Considering Togetic and Togekiss are somewhat modeled after Fairies, I'd see them getting Fairy-typed.

Anyway, one update I'm looking for is to Wonder Guard, basically, making Pokemon with it immune to Weather and Field traps.
It'll make Shedinja go from completely useless to only somewhat useless.

"But what if your opponent doesn't have a Super Effective attack?!"
That's the ENTIRE POINT of Wonder Guard.

"But what if they hack Wonder Guard onto Sableye or Spiritomb!?"
Just set the game so that Pokemon with an ability that's not one of their 3 possible abilities won't be able to be used in battle.

Skrelp looks like a seahorse that's seen the world for what it is. He looks like he'd sit in the dimly-lit corner of a bar and say something like "yeh, I knows the guy ya lookin' for" if you asked him.

And Clauncher so looks like the mook you're looking for.

Meh. I haven't used the starting Flying type since Pidgeot in the originals. I don't see any reason to start now, especially when they'll lose half their health to Stealth Rock.

Also, seriously. Do something about Stealth Rock. That move is so stupidly good there's no reason to not use it.

Why has the anime completely dropped the notion that "Sometimes Pokemon can roar or make sounds beyond their name", but they totally have.

Talonflame sounds like a name made up by a twelve-year-old to begin with. I pity the voice actor that has to say it repeatedly in a stupid voice for the show.

About time Fire Type got the respect it deserves. Who knows, maybe Fairy Type will be weak to Fire as well?

I found a gold Charizard card lying around in my closet, i'm not sure how long it's been there.

I just thought of a cool way to introduce Xyger Red into the story. He's just doing a part time job while the first Japanese Pokemon opening plays.

I don't know, Fire is pretty good as a Type. I just don't think Fire has enough Pokémon.

Of the 3 Starter types, Fire, Water and Grass, here's how the stack up:
48 Fire types
109 Water types
74 Grass types

Water takes up about 1/6 of the Gen V National Pokédex.
Yeah, Fire needs more love. And Water needs for punishment from Electric and Grass.

Water getting the majority of Pokemon makes sense considering how the world works.

It's still ridiculous that a generation will introduce 49 new Water types and 9 new Fires *Glares at Gen III*
But the relative scarcity whilst not being absolutely barren is part of the appeal of Fire Types.

Oh, and nerf Stealth Rock. Seriously. That bullshit is getting old. 25% health for nothing? That's stupid (Talonflame will NEVER be used because of this. Losing 50% health on incoming is going to lessen it's appeal unless they seriously do something about Stealth Rock). At least Spikes need multiple layers and Poison Spikes can be soaked by Poisons and can be beneficial for a mon with Guts.

Just when I needed to surf the other day in HeartGold, got another call from the Mother. Went to the PokéMart and what did the deliveryman have? A Moon Stone. Just what I needed! So my Nidorino nicknamed PuToTyra is now a Nidoking, and I was able to get things done lol.

If there are three more then I can't think of them.

Gen III also only introduced four new electric types and in the national pokedex they all follow one another.

Ah. I must have counted available fire types, not just introduced ones (Though, technically, Castform becomes Fire during Intense Sunlight).
