Sweet. When I heard they were done yesterday I was hoping it would get uploaded somewhere to stream too. YouTube might not be the best place since it'll probably get taken down lol. But I'll probably get to watching it soon.
|
Finally! The wait after they said they were almost done was excruciating.
Thanks for sharing. |
So downloading the torrent gives me a read error that fucking reboots my laptop. :I
Well, guess I'll marathon it on Youtube before it gets taken down |
Got MP Shockwave in yesterday and just pre-ordered MP Optimus Primal on AmiAmi. :D
Also did start watching Beast Wars II. Four episodes in. It's... something alright. |
It is a Japanese BW series, so expect some head scratchers :lol
|
And now I see that AmiAmi has pre-orders open for Takara's Computron as well. Man, I really don't know which to pick here. There are things I like and don't like about both.
Takara:
Hasbro:
Hopefully we'll be seeing pictures of theirs in person at BotCon soon, as well as a release window and price from Hasbro. That will help. In my honest opinion it's a little foolish to go buy both and just mix and match, and for me would be very fiscally irresponsible. But I'd like one at least heh. |
If I would be interested in picking Computron up, I would go with the Takara version. Because for one I don’t even know if the Hasbro boxset will ever be released in Germany and if it will it’ll be the same price as importing a UW boxset anyways so... not a hard decision.
Also, I fully expect that Hasbro's set will have no new tooling whatsoever aside from Strafe. Like, maybe they have the new head on Afterburner just because they also have the rest of the new parts, but the rest? Don’t think they’ll get new headsculpts. The Brawl-mold is also pretty bad IMO, so getting a Rook-remold is much better. Takara's set just has so much new tooling and extras that it would be hard for me to settle with the Hasbro version, even if I would get it cheaper. The new hands and feet are nice, but they don't really matter to me. But that's just me. I won't buy him anyway, never cared much for Computron or the Technobots. Quote:

I'm a fan of Takara's version more, mostly because of Nosecone and his newly massive drill, and the fact it's definitely coming out sometime in the next year. Not that it matters, because I probably won't get any, but it's nice to have an opinion :)

Huh... I knew he was red at points too, just went to Computron's TFWiki page earlier and saw all the shots there had him orange while an arm so figured that's the look Takara would go for. Still think it would have made for a better palette all around.
Think I will go with Takara, but still not going to place my order just yet. I did just buy MP Tracks though... Never had an interest in him but TFSource put him on sale for only $45 and that's kind of a good deal so figured why not? |
looking at how much that Botcon Megatron is going for after the fact...and it's making me a little sad. :(

Any hope of ever seeing that for a reasonable price (of which there was little, granted) went out the window right there. But yeah it sucks. :( |
Done with Beast Wars II, it can be easily summed up as "stuff falls into gaia, then the Maximals react" sure, it gets a proper plot once Magnaboss and Nemesis are introduced, but the main part of the show is just a new set of toys being introudced and then they interact with both sides, rinse and repeat.
As such your enjoyment will come from how much you enjoy the light tone of the show and it's jokes, I had fun more often than not, but the Autoroller arc felt incredibly pointless even by II's standards, and... I'm not even sure what the Jointrons were aiming for, the infamous Mariachi brothers were... just plain odd, sure, they threw gratuitous spanish often, they had ponchos once, but for the most part they just were random and not really steretoypes as much as they were confusing. So yeah, BWII is not spectacular or a must watch by any means, it's just that curiosity that it has awlays been, the BW spin-off that only Japan knew, it has cool ideas and a lot of the characters have potential, but the format does not do it any favors. Still, had more fun than not. |

Beast Wars is 20 years old today. I remember I watching it on Fox Kids since it replace Power Rangers as the show that I would watch the most on Fox Kids. I love Beast Wars a kid and had the toys. The Megatron T-Rex figure was my favorite thing ever as a kid.
|
I fondly remember Beast Wars. My brother and I actively got the toys like mad. Something that I remember peeving me off is that so many characters never showed up in the series. While it did make it stronger ultimately, as a kid I just didn't like that about 3/4th of the Beast Wars toys I got were characters that never appeared :lol
Still, I love it. I watched it all the time. I recent re-watched it last year, too~ |

Beast Wars was my first Transformers cartoon series. I didn't see G1 until like a year later. I was born in 1991, so I did miss out on G1 Transformers during it's prime in the 80's (before TMNT took over its popularity).

I omitted another toy on technicality, that being Transmetal Airrazor (Character appeared, but that body didn't). |
Isn't Jawbreaker a Hyena technically?
Then again it's bogged down with so much spiky shit I'd say "canine-ish" is a better description. |

As a kid all I remember is that, when I was asked why I wanted him, I said "Wolves are cool." (Obaasan saw that as a good enough reason to buy him for me :lol) |

Never knew about the redeco. THat's awesome!
|
Now almost halfway through Beast Wars II (just saw the Seacons introduction) and for the hell of it watched the Metals episode Convoy's Great Transformation because the same sub group decided to do that.
I did not previously realize just how much of a horrible joke Beast Wars was to Japan. It's really kind of a shame. |
Yeah. BW received a gag dub over in Japan. The actors ad libbed scenes, they broke the 4th wall on a regular basis, characters screamed attack names just because, and, from what I read, the only time a "Serious" scene wasn't filled with pointless jokes was Code of Hero.
|
So there was a Transformers live event in Japan today with a little bit of a BW-theme. On display was the next MP-release, G1 Inferno, and apparently Takara dropped the bomb in a panel at the end of the day: The next Beast Wars Masterpiece toy is:

Yay! :3

I can't wait to own Tigatron!
|
Not interested.
Call me when Galvatron finally gets his long-overdue Masterpiece figure. 30th anniversary of the '86 Movie and this is a big disrespect to Leonard Nimoy's memory, I might add. |
My slow trek through Beast Wars II continues.
Man do I hate Artemis and Moon. But what I hate even more is the number of recap episodes. |

But hey, after the shit show he delivered on TFW I’m not surprised that he writes the same crap over here. |

Nimoy didn't even voice Galvatron in the Japanese dub... |

Moving on, what are people's thoughts on Combiner Wars Cyclonus? I wasn't overly impressed with him when I saw him in stores, but since I've preordered Unite Warriors Galvatron and Scourge I'm wondering if I should pick him up to complete the trio.
|
Does anyone remember the rumors about Masterpiece Cheetor? Turns out they're true and we now have a 2nd Beast Wars MP coming up!!!
