SHF does have tiny accessories - Gashats, Memories - but at least in those cases it is a much cheaper kit you're dealing with rather than an expensive collector's figure. And then in some cases you've got, say, Den-O's rider pass being attached to the hand.
|
Something I've always wondered about the Figure-Rise standard Kamen Rider kits: what would happen if you painted directly behind the lenses
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsymSV_-UJY This video shows a technique for improving the compound eyes. It looks like very shiny paint to the interior, then using a ceramic polishing compound (https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/TT25-P...dp/B0006O8GOC/) |
With respect to scaling FRS to SHF, I feel FRS Zi-O and Faiz blend in quite well. Granted these are the only kits I own but the size of the helmets don't make the rest of the figure look like a bobble head. I would even go as far to say those helmets are about the same size of an SHF
These are well proportioned too, the only knock against them is they are noticeably taller than SHF. I've gotten around this by posing Zi-O in the far back row and putting Faiz in his trademark crouch position. Blends right in! And as I've said many, many times here: FRS Faiz is a perfect placeholder for an SS release and is far better looking than that old crummy SHF |

This probably belongs on the SHF thread, but can the face plate of SHF Ghost be colored this same way?
I dont have the figure so I don't know if the black eye pieces are molded or painted in front or behind the clear "face"; but I've noticed it's not the orange color it is on the show and some customizers have fixed that |

I almost screamed for a second because I thought this was an FRS Ghost reveal

I think Kiva or Ghost are gonna be come of the last FRS we see.
Kiva because he has been notoriously difficult to capture in figure form. The old SHF blog went into this aspect before http://blog.livedoor.jp/shfiguarts/a...072771434.html basically admitting that Emperor form was easier to do than Kiva's base form. I guess thats what happens when you have to recreate perfection ;) Ghost only because of the lack of popularity and it would be kind of hard to do. |

I apologise for my crappy drawing skills. |

How 'bout they try the Fumina option and just have the jacket float around the torso? https://da.lnwfile.com/_/da/_raw/l8/o8/wy.jpg |

Wow, this articulation problem does not go away easily huh? |

knowing bandai's cost cutting, they would probably go half and half on both your ideas since the line values poseability. Maybe have the top of the jacket be solid and part of the upper torso. They could integrate the bottom half into the build of the lower torso by making the lower half for the jacket rubber. It could be pegged into the lower torso on the sides. Therefore, it would give an integrated look and not hinder the articulation of the upper body. They've been known to use rubber before on some humanoid kits, so maybe they could go this route if not cloth or completely solid. And it wouldnt look too bad posing. They've been willing to try new engineering and materials in these kits before, maybe ghost will be a turning point in engineering for the series and actually be good. Unlike his series.

NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!
The next release in the Kamen Rider Figure-rise standard line (post-Decade) is Onodera! Yup, the plucky companion to the destroyer of worlds is seeing a release in Figure-rise standard! As you'd expect, he's just a reissue of standard Kuuga Mighty Form, albeit with metallic coated parts. However, what really makes this release unique is that it comes with a sheet of multiple stickers that replicate the mark that Kuuga leaves on his enemies after doing his rider kick. I saw PO'S at Lunar Toystore and Sure Thing Toys for now. It will retail for $35 and is a retail release just like standard Kuuga. I don't know the release date though, wasnt mentioned anywhere, so prob TBD. |

They probably did it to capitalize on Decade's release (and milk the mold). But more than anything, they are probably trying to fill the the void till Ryuki and Agito's releases next year.
And i felt the same lol. Ryuki when? |

On that note, what non-main riders do you want to see? I'd like Zeronos and New Den-o (even if I don't build models much anymore because of hand cramps) |

On the fence about this Decade Kuuga. I like the mold, and I'm feeling pretty completionist about Figure-Rise right now... but, like, shiny Kuuga? I don't know if that's worth the $30 and a couple hours of my time. |
Apart from the obvious Cross-Z, I wanna see the ones that could be easily made and one that is super unlikely.
-Brave (new head, back, gauntlet) -Kaixa (pretty much the whole torso and head assembly) -Gattack (head, shoulder, chest, and weapons) -Knight (new head, shoulder, chest, and deck) -Ibuki (new chest and head) -Eternal (new head, left thigh, and chest with waterslides for the fire effects on the forearms. Cloth cape?) Tsukuyomi (new head, chest, shoulder, and waist to accomodate plastic cape.) ...I just want a figure of Tsukuyomi that I could fit with my SHFs. Quote:

It's just, there's that collector part of my brain that's going to go You Have Every Kit Except For The Second Kuuga One, and I gotta figure out what to do with that information. Should be a fun process! |

In terms of supporting riders, i'd really like to see cross-z, but im wary of that since it uses the build suit as a base, and as others have said figurise build is pretty bad in terms of proportions. So if they do cross-z, i really hope they revamp the build base first or fix it for cross-z and then release an updated build later with the adjustments. I also want to see new Den-o and zeronos. But more than anything i want Gills and Ixa. Gills cause they Shf aged badly, and Ixa cause i know I'll always be too poor to afford the seihou. They probably wont do them till they finish the main riders, but i really hope none of them is p-bandai, i really hate middlemen pricing. Hopefully, bluefin releases those stateside if anything. |

The oo diver full package wasn't a reissue though as it was released during the series and just bundled the oo diver with its add-on part set that was sold seperately. Its like during the LuPat toyline when they released the x-changer, and then released x-kaiser. If you already had the changer, you could buy the 2 trains for the legs and make x-kaiser. If you had nothing and tuned in later, you could just buy x-kaiser, which bundled the trains and x-changer. After the oo diver was upgraded, its upgrade form became the standard config, so it would make sense to update packaging and market as a set so as to give new consumers what they saw on tv immediately. They sold the parts seperately so that those who bought standard oo diver could make the update without having to buy the bundle. So it wasn't really a reissue, but moreso about reaching 2 different markets. The seperate releases were for customers already invested in the brand and picking up kits, and the bundles for average consumers and new fans who tuned in later to pick up something they saw on tv. Bandai is very good at this lol. |
Knight and Gatack are definitely among my most desired.
I would also like to see Birth, Meteor, and Mach. |
Considering how Figure-Rises are plastic models and are therefore cheaper (relatively speaking) to the Figuarts, I really want Ryuki to come with Dragredder.

If they do knight after, i hope he comes with a wired cape for his final vent. |

Yup, i hope they introduce soft good or at least rubber goods into these kits soon. Some of them could really use it, especially if they do secondaries or alternate forms. I mean heisei phase one doesn't really need it, unless they do kiva emperor and some secondaries. But Heisei phase 2 has some mains (like double), secondaries, supporting riders, as well as alternate forms that use capes or cloth. Hopefully, they do those and don't just end the line on base forms.

I still think Diend would be a good one to do, given he and Decade share a base body -- his differences would mostly be his head, his torso 'armour' and his belt.
Awesome to hear about Onodera! Got a link? |

Here is a picture of Figure-Rise Standard Decade at a exhibition, I'm pretty sure it's a snap build without any paint. If thats the case, it's looking great. Oh and also I found a Box Art of the kit, but not too sure if its the real thing due to the poor quality.
|
Damn, he's looking good; even that Blade card! I figured he'd be pretty low on stickers but this is gorgeous regardless. Do you know which exhibition this is at?
And yup, that boxart's real :) |

Seems like the stickers are the orange headlight and the details on the belt. It's good to see that there's finally a good alternative for a Decade figure. I need to get him soon. |
I'm still waiting for the Decade Pre-order to show up at nin-nin-game. He's up at places like HLJ, but NNG was the fastest I've ever got a Pre-order and I'm so excited for Decade. I'm hoping to get him before the end of the year.
