Working on Goseiger right now to see if it's as bad as everyone says it is. I've finished episode 5 and so far so good. I'm enjoying this series so far. I just hope it doesn't get bad later.
|
I will say that I watched Goseiger and I enjoyed it; it isn't in my top 5 seasons, but it definitely isn't in my bottom five either. It's a pretty standard season that precedes a season with a bigger projected budget. I don't know why Goseiger gets all the hate it gets.
I am at the halfway point of Bioman and I think it is pretty good. If the other 80's sentai is like this one (this is my first), then they should be a lot of fun. |
Liveman Episode 5: I have started this back up with my brother, and we are both really enjoying it. It was intriguing to meet Tetsuya's brother and help them form the Live Cougar. I really enjoy the characters so far they are really fun. I love the Live Robo too one of the more awesome Giant Robos out there. I really enjoy the setup and a lot from this series, and I can't wait for more.

Well, I just finished Kyoryuger just now and it was one of the series that I absolutely couldn't stop watching. I'd been able to pace myself through some of the more recent ones I'd seen, but I found myself devouring this one. I may need to take a break, if for no other reason that I have very few full Sentai seasons available to me to watch for the moment until I'm able to torrent safely. It looks like Nemet Subs has Battle Fever J in full, so I'll probably re-start there, and probably by then I'll be able to catch up with and power through ToQger. If I'm luckier, perhaps all of Carranger, Gingaman, and/or Ohranger will be available to me too.
But back to Kyoryuger for a second. I really enjoyed it because it was so fast-paced, energetic, and action packed. The villains were really good up and down the roster, and though the main characters were fairly static (not a bad thing, in this case, as their personalities to begin with made them into the heroes in the first place), I still found them pretty engaging throughout. They were consistently written and though there was probably far more focus on Daigo than the rest of the main cast, everybody got to show off their stuff. But again, this show wasn't meant to be a character study the way something like Shinkenger or Jetman were supposed to be, but not every show has to be. After all, they were all on the same page for the most part from the get go and that was the point. Anyway, I've finished 21 seasons of Sentai now, in the following order: Jetman, Dairanger, Zyuranger, Liveman, Shinkenger, Goseiger, Dekaranger, Magiranger, Boukenger, Gekiranger, Go-Onger, Maskman, Gaoranger, Sun Vulcan, Gokaiger, Megaranger, Hurricanger, Go-Busters, Kakuranger, Abaranger, and Kyoryuger. I know Battle Fever J is fully subbed by Nemet, and that Carranger, Bioman, and Carranger are pretty far along in their own updates. Ohranger is coming along pretty consistently too and of course there's ToQger. It seems like Timeranger, Flashman, and Changeman are on hiatus for a good long while. What should I start next? |
Glad to hear you enjoyed Kyoryuger, it's my favorite!
Where did you get a full sub of Hurricanger? |
Salvy, watch some of the subbed episodes of GoRanger. You are way further along in your list than I am in mine, but I have had to stop for a little while. I will catch up to you though.

Watched the first episode of Megaranger, I like the premise. I can pretty much already say I'll prefer PRIS though.

Gah! Hurricanger is the one season I really want to see. No worries the wait continues.

Right, and they're on the list again, but as I have already seen them, they're not priority for me. The one I really want to see next is Bioman, but I'm reluctant to start on a season that isn't fully subbed just yet. Same goes for Gingaman.
|
I have found 38 episodes of Bioman that are subbed and the remaining episodes are dubbed. I don't know if you have a preference, but it is something.
|
Goggle V
Maskman Hurricanger Toqger |
GUIS will finish Bioman soon enough.
I was planning to watch MegaRanger next, but since I still have 270 episodes of DBZ to watch through, and with GTAV PS4 coming out next week, I'm probably not going to get to it any time soon. In the mean time, I might just start watching a few episodes of OhRanger a week so that I don't get too far behind as it is one of those shows that are boring as hell if you marathon it. And since MFC seems to keeping up a good pace with them, I shouldn't have to catch up and then wait several months for the next episode. |

Finished Abaranger (still have to watch the summer movie and vs. Hurricaneger though) and I loved this show to bits and pieces. The characters were wondefully fleshed out and had some great backstories. You really get to love them over the course of the series. My god, I cried so hard at Abarekiller's death ;_;
The story was nothing spectacular (classical Sentai storyline), but hat some really nice new concepts as well and the filler episodes had a wonderful use of all the tropes. The comedy was crazy and fun, the serious scenes were extremely touching. Great show. As for the subs, Imagination Station did an overall solid job. However, I occasionally noticed some sentences were translated uncorrectly basically because the sentence IS used didn't properly fit what was actually said- even though they were sentences you could think people would use in that situation. (e.g. when they were researching AbaraKiller's past, someone asked: "Do you know this man?" in the Japanese audio, while in the subs he asks "Have you seen that man?"- works with the scene itself, but not with the context. Also, there was a scene where Mikoto talked about himself and said "my time" in Japanese, but in the subs it said "my life"- it wasn't unlogical for the context, but simly not what he said.) |
Finished Dairanger a couple of days ago, solid enough series. The ending was standard Sentai stuff but left me feeling like there should be more.
I've moved onto Dekaranger now, partly because Imagination station has the subs up for the Abaranger/Dekaranger movie and it'd feel weird watching it without seeing Dekaranger. Partly because I started watching it a couple of years ago but life got in the way and I dropped it. Also Jasmine. Ahem. |
Finally managed to finish Kakuranger and I absolutely loved the ending and the show overall. There are just a few things I really didnt like about the Show like Daimaoh and the Kunoichi Gang being pretty boring, dull and uninteresting. Overall I had a great time with the show and can without a doubt say that its my new favorite sentai show.
|
I liked the Kunoichi gang, myself.
I just wished they got a true final battle... |
They never had something that really grabbed me. The Yokais always outshined them pretty heavily for me.
|
Kakuranger is great! I'm currently re-watching it and it's still as funny as I remember it.
|
Kyoryuger, Gokaiger, and finishing up toqger
|
Watched the ToQGer Hyper Battle DVD and I havent laughed this hard in along long time. It was so incredibly funny and atleast we now know who Jennifer is :lol
|
I just started Liveman and after only 5 episodes, I am totally drawn in. I like the story that has led to the sentai forming and I like that the audience is learning bits and pieces about the villains and heroes. I just finished Bioman and while I look for the last half of Changeman, I started Liveman and that was a good decision.
|
Trying to get through my Gekiranger re-watch quickly so I can start re-watching Go-Busters for Christmas. Because Go-Busters and Christmas... ah, you know why.
Currently at Geki 20, it's still as good as I remembered it. The Gekirangers are just adorable. And Mele and Rio's relationship always breaks my heart ;_; |
Still watching Abaranger and enjoying it so far. Its a really cool show and I cant wait to see where it goes next.
Also rewatching Shinkenger and loving every second of it. I´m even enjoying it more than I did back in 2009 when I saw it for the first time :lol |
I am starting to watch through Gokaiger before Dino Charger airs.
|
Currently i am watching Gekiranger. I reached episode 7 and by now I am pretty fond of the series.
Still can't get used to the "fly-announcer" for the mecha battles though. Well maybe i need some more time for that XD |
trying to find a healthy torrent of Kyoryuger, but im going through toqger right now.
|
Well I started Abaranger. It's uhhh, something :lol
|
Yeah, Bae can be pretty annoying. In fact, I feel he takes away from the mech battles, which is a shame because the agility of GekiTouja made for some great battles.
|
I am on episode 31 of Liveman and I am really enjoying the show a ton. The filler episodes don't feel like like regular filler from other 80's seasons and the acting is a tad bit better with the extra money they spent on having idols be in the cast.

I like Bae a little bit more than in his first episode but I still can't get used to him. But right now I am just at episode 8 so he has still time to grow on me XD |
