So how do you think Thunderbolt is gonna get distributed in the west? Through Daisuki? Blu-ray when all 4 currently known parts are out?

Shining and Wing Zero don't look anything alike. For one Shining doesn't have, y'know, wings. |

When people say that they recycled G Gundam designs in Wing, this was the one that came to my mind. Now looking at it though, they aren't as similar as I think.

I highly recommend 00, personally. It's my favorite Gundam show. If you liked sort of the ragtag group aspect of IBO, then you'll like 00. It's a very dense story, with a ton of great characters fights, e.t.c. It's about this group called Celestial Being intervening in the world's affairs to create War through peace. Specifically the 4 Gundam meisters and their mission are the focus. Throughout the series, you'll learn a lot of stuff about how the world became the way it is, what Celestial being wants it to be, who's manipulating who, e.t.c. Every episode is fast paced, and the status quo gets shifted once every once in awhile.Season 1 is very morally grey, which a lot of people enjoyed. Season 2 has much more explicit villains but also has more personal character development going on. And the designs of the Gundams in this one are the best. Then there's the movie Awakening of the Trailblazer. I won't spoil it for you, but it's very different plot for Gundam. People hate the movie but I really liked it. And the way it ends is the perfect ending to a Gundam Universe (to me). Another series I recommend is the MSG 0079 movie trilogy. It essentially takes the entire 43 episode TV series and condenses/retools the plot the plot to create a good viewing experience. This is where it all starts, and it's an interesting watch, just to see all of the space politics and the responsibility of these young people to get the RX-78 to Federation headquarters and their participation and what it does to them. It's got dated animation since it came out in the early 80's but at least it looks better then the original TV series' crappy animation. The conflict in this series is what fuels the conflicts for many of the other Universal Century timeline Gundam shows, it's kind of required viewing to see why this group acts such and such a way due to past events. Theses movies are also the canon version of the story, so you're not gonna miss out. Or if you prefer to read a ton of manga, there's always the Origin instead. Which is another retelling of 0079. Instead of condensing the story and changing it, the Origin expands on the story of the TV series, with changes from the movies and it's own to better suit the story. It's not canon but any means, but you're not gonna be super lost since it doesn't change the overall outcome. The art is really really good in it,when there's color, it looks especially pretty. And those weirdly looking people on the covers do not look that weird in the manga. The origin really doesn't include a ton of original content in it except for the Flashback arc, where it details the origins of many of the characters and how the One-year war broke out in the first place. The flashback stuff was so good, that the anime studio behind Gundam is working on adapting it to an OVA series, with the 3rd episode coming out next spring (which has been pretty faithful to the Origin counterpart so far.) This manga was the thing that made me care about 0079 and the One Year war, despite having watched the movies, it's that good. |

X had a guy who had a greenish blue mobile suit and transitioned to a red one. Heavyarms was red during the main series, then at Endless Waltz it was greenish blue |

Damn it now I wanna go back and watch G Gundam

Thanks for the recommendations i have see so far only ibo and build fighters and I'm enjoying every moment of it.
I've actually been aware of gundam for a while but didnt think i would ever get into it.....then i heard the op for IBO, I LOVE man with a mission!! so i figured why not? Now that i think about it i decided to watch a lot of anime after only hearing songs from the shows, this is how i got introduced to FMA too For me music is one of the biggest factors of my opinions on different show |

Honestly? Wing/G Gundam was the last time I feel like Gundam designs really stood out from each other, except for the radical redesigns like G Reco and Barbatos. Most other Gundams just feel like the same suit with minor variations, only really standing out once you get up close. (And yet Wing/G Gundam are the ones to have the least amount of modern kits made, not counting the EW redesigsn that never showed up in the show itself) Quote:

So we get some background on Akihiko this time around, which leads me to think that he'll most likely have an early death....

So Bandai has been announcing the English cast for IBO.
This VA I've never heard of before named Kyle McCarly is voicing Mika. Although I don't watch much anime, so don't take my lack of knwoedge seriously. I looked him up on wikipedia and he was in Aldnoah Zero so yay? https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=919706464732163 Also, Johnny Young Bosch is gonna be Orga. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...type=2&theater We'll get more info on the remaining cast soon, but hopefully the dub turns out good. Bandai has been on top of it with the Origin and Unicorn dubs, so hopefully we can get 3 good ones in a row. Still no Thunderbolt release annoucement though. |
I hope to see IBO on Toonami next year. It would be so cool to have Gundam return back to the action block that made it popular back in the late 90's and early 2000's.

If Toonami picks up a Gundam show then it would likely be IBO since it's more new. Having IBO on Toonami could re-introduced the series back to causalal anime fans again since the last Gundam show on Toonami was like a decade ago.

Picked up a few more Gundam kits.

My HLJ orders for the Dec IBO popped today yay!!!!! Made me think. None of these 1/144 have been over 1100 yen (Not counting the booster unit) Making IBO one of the more affordable lines in a while. Anyone know why that is?

I fond it hilarious that people think Kudellia is striving for peace when we just recently had an episode where she is told a war with gjallahorn might happen if Mars wants independence and Kudellia was like "well, I dont like it, but Mars needs independence, then so be it"

Dunno why but I like how metal build look more realistic then plastic build
|
Yeah, it's absolutely gorgeous, great finish on the paint, and of course being a metal inner frame it feels solid as hell. It's a bit back heavy, with the wings, but that's to be expected, and that's why there's a stand.
Now I get to start saving up to hopefully find Strike Freedom for a reasonable deal in the next couple of months. |
