Zyuranger Episode 26-31: Well I liked Zyuranger before but it definitely got better with the 28-31 four-parter they had. I really enjoy the cast a lot and they all grew more between the 20's and through till the early 30's. I can't tell who my favorites are yet because I love them all, but Mei is definitely shining so far. Dan is pretty cool too, and Boi. I love Geki and Burai relationship as brothers and seeing how they help each other was great too. The Thunder Slingers are pretty awesome, and Bandora's plan to summon Great Satan was really dark. ZyuRanger is really good now and I can't wait for more.

Watched the next 3 episodes of OhRanger. So far the show is a lot more enjoyable subbed, but this is where the show really starts to turn in tone.

Well I gave Dekaranger a shot. It became a show I really don't like in SPD, features my most disliked suits, and it's mentor looks like shit. I went in with an open mind and.....yeah it sucked balls. The characters just stink. Banban is uber annoying and Umeko isn't much better with the rest just bland. None of them grab my attention except for Banban and Umeko, but that's because of how ridiculously annoying they are. Kruger...he stunk. The suit itself stunk but they couldn't even make it slightly nice by, you know, having his mouth move when he talks. He comes off looking creepy with his pretty much constantly opened mouth. The henshin sequence sucks, though I do like the explanation for the transformation. The music wasn't that great either.
Overall Dekaranger is just bad for me. I only got a few episodes in before I called it quits and I honestly don't want to finish it. I'll probably watch VS Abaranger just to see the Abas again, but that's it. I may not like SPD but I would be able to stomach watching that again way more than this. So yeah, Dekranger is crap to me. |
Actually, the Doggie suit's mouth does start to move I believe in episode 7. Yeah, it is very distracting though.

Just finished Sun Vulcan and Maskman; those seasons could not be anymore on the opposite sides of the spectrum for me. Sun Vulcan never really went anywhere and then just sort of ended and Maskman had a running plot that was summed up at the end (although it was a little sad).
Sun Vulcan has to be the worst right? I mean it has to be; it piggy-backed off Denziman way more than it should have to be a good, stand alone season. I still don't really know what the main villains scheme or plan was. I think it was to take over the world, but that is just a guess since it wasn't really clear. I will say that the Vulcan Stick quickly became the most dynamic weapon in all of sentai; that thing could simply beat a foot soldier or MotW, destroy large electronics, deflect lasers, or even destroy a helicopter in mid-flight. Other than that...eh. I don't know if I can recommend this season to anyone; I mean, if you are a completist and want to watch all seasons of sentai, then you can't avoid it. But if you want to watch an older show and want to have a good time, then you are going to want to skip Sun Vulcan. Maskman was pretty good, but I think Liveman was better. The villains were cool and the main villain was good at being evil although he just sort of met a lackluster end. I would still suggest this season to anyone that is curious about possibly watching it, it is definitely worth the watch. |
I consider Sun Vulcan the worst.

Because Faiz is making me want to chew my own face off, I'm giving up on it.
I think I'mma watch Zyuranger~ |

The issue is that the only other Sentai I'm really interested in watching, Liveman, I can't get. I have the first 29 episodes, but the remaining 20 episodes are downloading painfully slow (The torrent has been active for 2 hours and is only at 1.1%), so unless I can find a streaming source, I don't have other options. |
I say just be patient and wait for Liveman. Trust me, it is worth the wait.

Is anyone streaming Liveman, because I can probably finish all currently subbed series before this download finishes... |
Well, shit, I don't know how I derped on this, but I'm only downloading up to episode 34.
Where can I find the remaining episodes subbed? |
Were you downloading GUIS's version 2s? If so, they haven't finished those yet but you should be able to get their V1s.

Well, as for me goes im watching Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive, but i'm stuck on episode 5 as there aren't more english subbed episodes that i could find. By the way i'm new to this forum i couldn't find a place to introduce myself.
|
There's an introduction thread in the General Forums.
Anyway, GoGoV? Yeah, I wish it would be finished. |

take note, I have chinatown subs of kuuga so you really can't convince me what a bad sub is. |
Plus didn't somebody sub it up to like 14 or 16?

So, I started Liveman. For a beginning it was...Okay. Like, I know why they began the way they did, but it felt like it may have brought the beginning down. It really felt like they put more into the characters who died rather than our heroes. While the Livemen were around, they didn't really amount to much until the last five minutes (Though I'm sure this will change by episode 2). The issue with this is that it doesn't give me much of an introduction to our heroes. I don't need their name, interests, personality, and favorite food plastered on the screen, but they were just there so we could get a fight scene.
I did like that the Liveman suits were developed over the time skip. I felt it makes sense and it was good that it wasn't some kind of last second moment where the professor walks in and goes "I made these super suits and super robot while you guys were in class. Take this and go fight" sort of thing. While it doesn't make much sense to create a protection suit and proceed to give them wildly different designs from each other, it doesn't bug me that much. Villains were kind of silly. I get how they can be a threat, but they just look too over the top and dumb for my tastes (Also, "Beauty Beast?" Really?). I didn't get to see much of Bias, but I think there is potential for the villains due to their personal connection to our heroes (I hope they don't squander it by having them just be generic generals past our introductory episodes). Suits look nice. I've always been particularly fond of the Liveman suits. I've never really liked the designs that are flooded with their main color and have a drop of white on the gloves or something. This balance looks pretty good. |
And that's episodes 2 and 3 of Liveman.
A lot has gone down, and that's great. It makes the episodes action packed and fun to watch. There have been some slower moments, but overall, it's been relatively quick to have our heroes just jump into the action. We got our third general, who isn't really very noteworthy, just an asshole scientist who things humanity is a scourge. Kind of seen that before (But because it's over 25 years old, I'm willing to not hold that little cliche against it). But I'm bringing him up for a mild issue. We've spent more time on the villains than we have our heroes. It's kind of annoying that I don't really have even a two word descriptor for our heroes. I'm sure they'll grow personalities in the upcoming episodes, but as of now they're quite dull. Something to note is that I'm kind of at a crossroads with Liverobo. I really, really want to like it's design, but there just isn't enough to it to make me want to swoon over it. It's way better than the Jet Icarus, but it just feels too flat (Despite Land Lion making it's chest pop). |
One thing I love about Liveman is that the grunts are actually competent.
|
I enjoy the grunts' design, but I haven't seen much of them beyond fights. If they're competent, that's pretty nice for a change.

I do enjoy that aspect, though. |

I also concur that some fansub group (Over-time perhaps?) should pick it up and give it the decent treatment that show deserves. :thumb: |
At the moment I am actually rewatching through Goseiger using the newer MFC subs, I have such a soft spot for the show, I'll watch through Abaranger again once I've finished, by the time I've finished them Gingaman will be finished so I'll burst through that.

So do people not like Goseiger or something?
It just seems like people who like it seem to be it the minority form what I can infer from this. |
I only saw a couple of episodes but I enjoyed it. Not a big fan of the suits but the show was okay from what I remember.
|
i never got the hate my self what i have seen it was not bad and the story is interesting
i like how they have 3 different vilian groups that reflect the different header tribes with the sky, land, and water |
Goseiger got a lot of flak due to to it's rather ditsy protagonists, unfocused story (Beyond Brajira, the villains kind of just come and go), and iffy designs.
I enjoyed it, but I'm not gonna be a staunch defender of the series. Though Brajira does give the series some points in that even those who hate the series acknowledge that he's pretty awesome. |
I still uphold Goseiger as one of my all time favorites. It has it's detractors and there's some rightful criticism that can be levied at it. But it's still fantastically fun energetic and has heart.
