Depends on what kind of kit. A lot of kits require paint and extra work to look good. The higher grade Gundams look pretty sweet right out of the box. I don't even apply the decals. I like the clean look. They are somewhat of an aquired taste, but I wouldn't call it frustrating. I sorta stopped with the Gundam kits in favor of Figuarts and other Toku stuff. There are some I would definitely get though if they end up being made. Like Perfect Grade Deathscythe Hell.

Shame, they're pretty intense. If you ever do get into model kits they'd be a good challenge.

Just make sure you have a pair of flush-cutters on hand. I had to trim off the mould sprues by hand with a hobby knife. Every. Last. One.
