I find Goseigers only fault is that it's sandwiched between 2 very memorable sentai. and even then, I can't hold it against it. that just wouldn't be fair.
though the thing about the girl's ears is really mean. please don't make fun of her ears. |

On the other hand, I find Goseiger to be absolutely horrific though. |

I also really, really hated ShinkenGold. He made me appreciate 6th rangers who take shit seriously, like GoseiKnight. |

The fight choreography is great in Shinken, but I wasn't a big fan of the cast, myself. |
I enjoyed Goseiger a ton and have no idea why anyone would hate it unless Gokaiger was their first series and compares everything to the amount of exposure that team got.
Shinkenger was my first sentai and will forever my favorite (nothing is quite like the first time, lol). I think every season has something redeeming about it; even Sun Vulcan. The Vulcan Stick is the most badass weapon ever and it's only a standard issue weapon, lol. But that is pretty much it. |
Ahhh, it's good that so many people enjoyed Goseiger ;_;
Goseiger was my third Sentai ever and I just freshly joined the fandom while I was watching it and HOLY COW I was shocked by how much hate it got. For me, Goseiger is very important, because it's not just that I like it, but the show itself means a lot to me. It cheered me up during depression and whenever I watch it today, I feel happy and energetic. As for the Shinkenger/ Gokaiger stuff: Yes, that is certainly one of the problems. Not that I dislik Shinkenger or Gokaiger. Admitted, before watching Goseiger, I was totally obsessed with Shinkenger. But these days, I don't like Shinkenger as much. It's good, but I just don't enjoy it as much as back in the day. As for Gokaiger: It's fun and certainly a great anniversary, but on the writing side, it sure suffered from all the "surprise cameos", because character-wise, the Gokaigers are a bit weaker than they could have been. As for sixth ranger: I don't like GoseiKnight that much, while I really had fun with ShinkenGold and I love GokaiSilver :lol When I first watched Goseiger and GoseiKnight made his first appearance I was soooo annoyed by him. He gradually gets more interesting when he becomes friends with Nozomu and starts to learn from the Goseigers though. @GoseiWonder Oh my god, fellow Eri-fan! *high-five* |

i think that maybe why i like gokaiger so much (first full sentai i watched) second was shinkenger when i am done with den-o i really need to finish goseiger |

My first sentai was Go-Onger and I loved it, I'm aware of it's flaws but it was a fun show, it got me hooked on the franchise and I've gone back and watched all the completely subbed Sentai plus Flashman raw.
I have never found a show what I have disliked I've found enjoyment through each one I've watched though my absolute favorite is Gekiranger, Goseiger has jumped into second and Dairanger in 3rd. |
I've never really held any special attachment for the series that got me into the franchise as a whole. I'm not gonna give Shinkenger some bonus points just for being the first Sentai I saw.
|
I really enjoy Goseiger a lot. I would consider it in my top five actually.
As of right now I'm watching Magiranger. |

I will say though, if Ninninger is as great as it looks, it could quickly take the throne. |
i was a kamen rider guy who watched 2000 to 2009 and then got turned off completely by it after
that decade story disaster"is this how you make 10th anniversary with a really painful lame story about a guy who almost destroyed the riders and then hes a good guy for some reason and then all the passed riders are jerks to him for some reason since hes passing by and then in EP31 they ended it with a"cliff hanger and a too be continued in the movie" and then the movie came and it was worse then the show >_< i started with go-onger"hated the main 5 hero's i even started to think i should walk away from the sentai series untel i made it to ep17 where they introduced the Go Wings team and there epic theme they carried the show for me they were cool and charming and they'r shiny in costume it made me feel like a kid again watching power rangers for the first time Shinkenger was epic im a fan of samurai theme setting and the main 5 were likable and that damn catchy opening. Goseiger held its own but it looked like a downgrade from shinkenger the main 5 were great and the opening is memorable and the show felt like a 3 seasoned anime with the changed of last bosses in the opening. Dekaranger i jumped on this since i watched few random episodes from PR:S.P.D i wanted to see how this show holds and to my surprise its really good the main 5 were memorable and the 6th dekabreak and his theme were also good and Ep33 was the best episode for me. Timeranger i loved almost everything about the show it felt like i was watching&reading an old school med 20s anime/manga i think its the first to have a 6th ranger/rival theme and a female opening/ending singer and i hated the cop-outs near the end of the show hinting us something"a scene where the timefire user almost surviving and Captain Ryuya being shocked and the wink wink romance between red and pink" but for some reason they didn't go with it. Megaranger didn't make it far in the show but let me say that its one of the best 90s sentai Zyuranger watched few episodes and the end of the green ranger it was kinda funny seeing the wacky monsters Jetman i like it and i was shocked and salty by the ending Kakuranger i liked the opening and thats about it the show didn't do that much for me Gokaiger i jumped at it later when they made it to mede it to 30s episodes and let me say that its one of the best anniversary i have seen in a looong time and kamen rider decade should feel ashamed by this i stinking damn loved watching it and its a bad idea to start with it without checking the passed series go-busters i like it and also see why ppl hated it it felt more serous and edgy then the passed sentai's and the story kept going on and on and on it was kinda painful and i keep getting megaman battle network vibe from it and changing the opening med way will not help :p and it looked like it try's to get close with the power rangers vibes Toei went all out with this show and they even made a funny movie parading the old 90s super robot/sentai shows i feel sad that a load of ppl/fans hated it and walked away from it because it something different now i hope they don't stick to happy go lucky gimmicks and mediocrity. i tried watching GekiRanger and turned off and i didn't like the kongfu/karate kid theme it tried to go for now im watching ToQger and its crap and Maskman and i like there costumes and the enemy's Boukenger |
Currently, due to recommendation from our own Gun and Winston, I am watching Timeranger! On Episode 3 still, but so far I do love the series and it's cast. I love Yuuri (TimePink), Shion (TimeGreen), and Tatsuya (TimeRed). Ayase seems like a cool character, but he comes off as that dull, smart anime character. But I'm sure I'll go crazy for him as the series progresses. Damon (TimeYellow) is warming up to me just a little, but I don't like his brash personality. The villains are alright so far. Don't really know a lot about them, but I hope for them to be a very formidable enemy towards the TimeRangers.
To finish off, the opening of Timeranger is... very zany and kind of ridiculous, but in a funny, unusual, unique sort-of-way. I do enjoy listening to it and I like the tune and lyrics of it. Really nice song. All-in-all, great start to the series, but I highly doubt it'll surpass my love for Gekiranger. :D |
I think with Timeranger I'll be waiting for it to be fully subbed no matter how long i takes, I'm actually looking forward to starting Carranger since it's only got 5 eps til it's finished been subbed, I might wait til Ohranger's finished and watch that first though so I can appreciate the team up with Carranger more.

Unfortunately by today's standards these shows are now focused on toy sales and this affect much how the writers tell a story. But despite this limitation the final product is by far much better than watching PR, sorry to say it this way but recent seasons seem to confirm this. I hope that this changes and we can see another beautiful story like Jetman, maybe its a simple plot, stirring a love triangle with drama and robots, but hey, these stuff never disappoints. To my view Go-busters was either ahead of its time or just bad timing, its dark and different futuristic tone differed too much from Gokaiger, a season that was the embodiment of classic sentai. It was like placing a heated glass in a cold surface, you know what will happen next. Its sad that they were badly treated in terms of story in their second crossover with the dino-team, when GB did all the work. Quite honestly i really miss the Go buster Oh, the cockpit was awesome. Even all the hate thrown at them the series fared much better in ratings rather than Kyoryuger, which i disliked a lot. The only reason why i watched them was to see if Nobuharu (Kyoryu blue) would end up pairing with Canderira. So far the only thing i wish is that they bring back the tradition of using an eyecatch during commercial breaks, im sorry but the logo its just not the same. Just my two cents, cheers. |

Kyoryuger had overall lower ratings but had higher numbers in the kids demographic and having the best toy sales since Gaoranger helped quite a bit. |

Go-Busters did really badly with kids and when kids dont watch your show its really bad for the company thats trying to sell them the toys. Of course ratings can be iffy since kids rarely tune in on a regular basis but its something tht should never be ignored. Something like that happened to Gaim as well last year. The toy sales were pretty strong even if they didnt come close to OOO/Fourze level of sales. The show had really low ratings with kids though while adults really enjoyed the show. Which is probably why we get the V-Cinema that seems to be targeted more to the adult fanbase. |

Anyway, like in life everything its like a pendulum, some for them and some for us, and that is to say that what is a fact now will be gone later just to complete a cycle and repeat itself again. |

Everything changes. Sentai back in the day also had the different timeslot so shows like Jetman, Kakuranger etc. could do different things then the modern ones. Who knows how the shows look like ten years from now. |
I watched episodes 44-46 of ToQ today and they were meh. Nothing seemed to really happen for it being an hour's length in time.

just watched Hurricaneger 10 years after movie that i just found out that it exist
few hours ago and that it came out in late 2013 XoX now how in the flying hell did that happened with few ppl talking about it when i first sow the name i thought it was just another special movie that came out in med 2002 or something and that its involve time travel or some crap but i did not see this coming and i started to think that Toei really loves its sentai series and find really shocking and creative ways to sell old toys now is there something similer movie like this?"a sentai from the early 90s that got a special movie in the early or late 20s" |
I guess few people talk about it on forums because so few have fully seen Hurricaneger due to the lack of subs, but it certainly didn't go unnoticed in the lead-up to it. In fact most news sites deservedly made a big deal out of it.
Sadly its the only Sentai film of its kind at the moment though. Shame, because I (along with many others on here) would love a Dekaranger 10 Years After. |
Heck any years after films would be welcomed.

Just got the Zyuranger box set today and already watched the first disc. This series is awesome, and its actually awesome to see all the backgrounds and fight scenes from MMPR with the proper setting and context. Also the pacing is so much better, no rushing into full on Megazord. I mean heck I finished the first 5 episodes and its just about to show the combined zords for the first time. Anyone on the fence on getting this box set or not I fully recommend it.

Continued watching Maskman after nearly a year of taking a break from it. I really enjoyed the last five episodes I saw. The three part Galaxy Robo arc was very well done and they took their time to properly introduce it and not just throw it into an episode and call it a day. The episode with Akiras martial arts tournament was also great. It has spectacular fight scenes and the plot of the episode was really heartwarming. The character still feel a bit samey to me and I cant really tell what their personalities are in detail but it sure gets better. They are not as fundamentally boring as they were the first 18 episodes.
The villains are still a bit lame though. |
Took a break from Jetman because I couldn't find the next episode anywhere. Finally DDL'd it from the site in the fansubs topic.
I think i'm gonna try Dairanger again after I finish Jetman. As for the discussion a few pages back, my first Sentai was Zyuranger, and I really don't see anything topping it. The combination of nostalgia rush and introducing me to the world of Sentai gives it a special place in my heart (lame, I know), but there are a few aspects of it that I like, but haven't found in other Sentai. For example: 1. Takes its time setting things up. Opens with a two-parter, goes into a two-parter where they get weapons, and then the two-parter with the sphinx to get DaiZyuJin. 2. Could just be nostalgia talking, but I much prefer how they combine the legendary weapons into a big cannon, instead of having a pre-made big cannon that they pull out of nowhere to beat enemies 3. I liked the "warriors from the past" aspect a lot, but haven't been as big of a fan of "random teenagers get powers through technology" setup that the vast majority of Sentai seems to have (which, I understand that's the main setup for Sentai and Zyuranger was a bit different in that regard) 4. I like how the monsters are all made out of clay, it gives them a nice "origin." Lots of Sentai just seem to have the monsters come out of nowhere, especially the cannon fodder enemies, so it's really cool to see a series where they have an explanation. Related to this, I like how Bandora throws her scepter thing to make the monsters grow. It makes sense for why they get bigger, as opposed to, say, Kakuranger, where they just randomly get bigger for no apparent reason. 5. It seemed like it had better world-building, as opposed to other Sentai i've seen where they gathered some people and gave them powers to fight an evil organization, but didn't really do much beyond that. Jetman has come pretty close to taking over my top spot, but not quite. Then again, i'm not even halfway through Jetman, so who knows. The only other sentai i've seen more than 10 episodes of is Megaranger, which I found to be rather uninteresting. Kakuranger I think I saw 9, which I also found a bit boring. Battle Fever J I surprisingly really liked the 6 or 7 episodes I saw, but not enough to compete for my top spot. |
I just watched the first 3 discs of ZyuRanger and it is so awesome being able to watch this subbed on official DVDs.
|
I've been really enjoying the past few episodes of Jetman, even more than before I took a couple month break from the series. Jetto Jetto Jettoman! Just watched the fortune teller episode.
|
just finished watching akibaranger season 2
aaand its a lazy scripted piece of crap& a downgrade they removed a load of potential characters that was from season 1 and they focused less on the sentai's and more on the otaku's culture i was looking foreword to something interesting to happened >_< like Takuma Tsuzuki might be back as an anti hero or 4th sentai member or even a leader of a 5 new sentai team that Toei hired to replace&rival the Akibaranger or a romance comedy between Akagi trying to win back that girl he has a crush on"forgot her name >_>" because she seem to be getting along with Tsuzuki etc i know its unofficial but still i can see the potential and way's they can get profits out of it. |
Watched 21-45 of Zyu today. Only five more to go and then I can start working on my review.
