Assuming that there will be R/S/E remakes, just because there's a magazine scan that includes a character that barely had anything to do with the main plot of Gen 3 is just boundless speculation. Also take into account that there isn't a need for R/S/E remakes, since Gen 3 Pokémon can transfer to Gen 4, then to Gen 5, then to Gen 6.

No, they weren't. Hoenn was referenced just as much as Sinnoh and Kanto were. Taking every Hoenn reference as speculation lends credence that Gen 1 and Gen 4 are also receiving remakes, too.

Well Gen 1 also needs a remake as well given that you have jumo though the same hoops as you do for RSE.

I love Gen 1, and the original games.
But FireRed and LeafGreen taught me something.

Adding one new area does not make it more interesting. Playing FireRed was soul crushingly boring. Where R/S's flaws were only made apparent after the fact, the Gen 1 games were just shot for shot remakes with one new area to provide Johto Pokemon, and it suffered because of it.

If they remake Gen 1 again, they're seriously gonna have to spice things up a bit. Make all 7 of the Sevii islands playable and make that quest last longer than an hours worth of play, add the removed Oak battle, anything.

And Gen 3 is much of the same. If they remake R/S, they better do something more than just literally update the graphics and ship the cartridges out.

Well they can make those islands outside the map explorable, that would be sweet.

Well of course! They didn't do it for Johto so they probably won't do it to the others either. Hell with all of these mini games now we could do the Orange Island challenges now too

They could try doing another modern Pokemon Yellow that follows the story of the anime more closely.

I'd be down for places like in the cartoon. Also a revamped Contest system. It doesn't have to be the same as in the cartoon, but something that isn't dull as hell...Make contests a full fledged minigame rather than select a move and pray that you somehow get a good rating.

They could have it so that, once beating the Champion, you'll be challenged by a starting trainer from the newest region and, despite having a better team, you still end up losing. :p

Given how much X/Y References Gen 1…I really do think they'll probably make another modern Kanto remake somewhere down this console's lifespan.

They could just have boats, and why do you not think that it would work? Do you think that they could not fit it all on the one cartridge?

No, for the same reason why Kanto in Gen 1 was watered down.
Challenge. Kanto is smaller so you can get to the gyms faster, and there's little else to do.

I don't doubt they could put two regions on the cart, but unless they put more than just 8 new trainers worth battling, it would seem like a waste.

Gen 2 is a direct sequel, since Red's story is kind of...Over. He catches Mewtwo, travels to Mt. Silver, and...Yeah.
I guess there could be a story about the 4 year gap between Johto and Unova, though...

So I just watched Kyurem and the Swords of Justice. Not a bad movie, and giving the main narrative to Pokemon instead of Ash and gang works in its favour. Some of the battles are spectacular and the scenery is as beautiful as it always is.

My favourite part of the story was when Keldeo was so afraid to face Kyurem, and Ash kept quiet and volunteered to handle it alone. This was a much better approach than his earlier one of telling Keldeo to simply face his fears

There are a few issues. The movie as a whole is a bit on the long and slow side. I think part of this is how empty the world feels. Pokemon movies have increasingly become empty and devoid of life, being set in more remote areas with less people. Kyurem and the Swords of Justice suffers most from this, where there are no guest human characters and the only human characters of any significance are Ash and his friends. Worse yet, there are very few Pokemon wildlife of any kind, compared to the abundance of them in earlier movies.

The scenes where this is especially jarring are the ones where Kyurem attacks the city to find Keldeo. Where there should be people wandering about, possibly screaming and panicking the streets are eerily quiet with not even a car or a pedestrian to be seen. You can't tell me a giant metropolis with so many skyscrapers would be so devoid of life, with no pigeons (Pidove?) or stray dogs (Lillipup?). Compare this to LaRousse City in Destiny Deoxys, for example, which felt alive and breathing or The Power of One where there was worldwide unrest among both Pokemon and humans.

Nevertheless, it was overall a good movie, and one of the better ones. Still, like most Pokemon movies, it can be dull and feels like a glorified episode.

The Genesect movie has a decent amount of life in it.

The trailers seem to show that and I'll definitely give it a watch sometime. But this was so empty it felt uncomfortable, like watching a surreal dream.

The one thing from the genesect movie that confuses me is that the location is New york city, not a location in the Pokemon world.... I seem to remember that being in some interview.

That's kind of weird, though there have been references to the United States in the Pokemon universe.

Santa Claus is a corruption of Sant Niklaus which is a Germanic variation of Saint Nicholas, an early Turkish Bishop. For that matter, Nicky is a Saint. How does that work? Is there a Pope in Pokemon to appoint Sainthood or does Arceus do it? And would Christians in the Pokemon world worship the Trinity or Arceus? If there is a Pope in PokeWorld there has to be a Vatican City which means there also has to be an Italy and a Turkey since St. Nick was Turkish. Santa's trademark red is a product of Coca-Cola marketing since ye olde drawings before Coke depicted Santa dressed more like a Bishop, does that mean Atlanta Georgia (heck ALL of Georgia) is real to? South America is real vine the first game. Africa and Southern Asia also has to be real due to Pokedex entries featuring specifically Indian Elephants, not Donphan or just elephants in general, meaning there is a need to be specific about what kind of elephant Gaslty can KO.
