Now for the next spree of animes and such
Watched the first episode of Hibike euphonuim which was good and had good animation which is to be expected of Kyoto animation. Watched the first two episodes of Denpa Koushi which is also a great teacher, the main character is great when he is fully motivated to do things. Also watched the first two episodes of Rin Ne which was enjoyable as well. |
So I'm nearing the end of yugioh 5Ds and episode 146 just mentioned paradox and yusei remembers time of bonds beyond time when he dualed him. And final battle is getting intresting.
|
sorry for double post.
Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds final thoughts: i loved all 154 episode of this season. even the filler but i got past that. the story was strong and every event links to the next. th elast season ark cradle ark i think is my best part of the season. every things there that built up to this point even Bond beyond time was referenced in it as well. i loved th epilogue you get at the start of 154 and Aki leads back to the dual it nice to see older team 5Ds member but i found it a shame that we did not see an older Yusei. alll in all by far my fave season out of all the anime. |
So Ninja Slayer from Animation is basically Inferno Cop 2.0.
I feel somewhat trolled. Perhaps I should have paid more attention and then I might have expected this. |
Rozen Maiden season three: is well told story of what happens if the main characters said no to the letter. It's also a some what retelling of first season but not by much it is in its own right its own serise as well.
Rozen Madin season episode1: great start was slightly different to what I remeber in season three but saying that I had feeling this would be telling the story of main character saying yes and I do love the animation more here. |
Been catching up on some episodes of Kuroko and I just wanted to post this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnMTawMFY8Y The hype! :D |

Gather round as we take a look at the list of stuff I checked for this season's vid, aka, "why do I always end up checking the lame stuff!?"
Rejoice! *tumbleweed* Wel... meep. I can't understand what my husband's saying 2: Still cool, fast jokes, cool references and fun leads. Vampire Holmes: I honestly dunno, incompetent detective that might be a vampire? Dropped. Nanoha Vivid: First and foremost... dang, that quality, it doesn't look great, but all in all is a fun spin-off, the action feels as awesome as ever, and the story while simple has likeable characters. Also, it hits me right in the nostalgia. Unlimited Blade Works: It's back, it still looks and sounds great, but UBW is still my least favorite route. Plastic Memories: This show is really going to aim at the feels later on right? I like it so far, the comedy can be quite good, and the show defintiely has heart, but the two sides do not always mix, the ending of the first ep is a clear example: Dramatic farewell -> Toilet joke. Still, it's well done, and does show promise. Nagato Yuki-chan: These guys... do not act very much like the past SOS Brigade, and I can see that annoying some, however, as I never was a big fan of the show to begin with, this new interpretation actually sits very well with me, it's really fun, the jokes are simple but effective, and I look forward to it every week. Owari No Seraph: Hypercompetent vampire killed all people over 13 and turned the remaining children into blood banks. I dig that setting, but that's it, I like the setting voer the developments themselves. Short version, I haven't seen anything past the preview for episode 2. Show by rock: Kawaii desu nya lead is dragged by a generic evil sahdow into a world of cgi cats where she saves the day through the pwoer of music and joins a band full of aniaml girls. I honestly dunno, I just dunno, it was quite the acid trip. Alternative Architecture: The televised version of the Arise movies is interesting so far, though not great yet, the resolution of the first case felt a bit sudden, weird thing, since I'm under the impression that it actually the last of the films. Anyways, weekly GitS is cool in my books. Houkago no pleiades: This is a textbook example of harmless magical girl show, as in, there isn't even a monster of the week as far as I've seen. So your take on it will obviously depend on how much you like the genre. Soul of Gold: If you if Saint Seiya, this'll be hype as heck, for such an odd an out fo the blue installment it fits rather well into the narrative and looks like a fun adventure to watch. If you are not into Saint Seiya, this'll make as much sense as the average Dali painting. Le Labyrinthe de la Grisaia: HYPE. HYPE. HYPE. Kajitsu wasn't really great, and it had pacing issues, pretty much everywhere but Amane's route, yet the show grew on me really quickly, Meikyuu takes Yuuji and focuses on telling how he became the awesome lead he is today, it's a pretty well told story all things said, and plays with various tropes and cliches int he usual Grisaia way. If Eden follows this level of quality it'll be a crazy ride. |

That seems like a thing magical girl shows tend to do after Madoka did a bang up job at giving the genre new life. I may want to get tabs on the show and see if it either goes straight or does the Darker-Gritter dance people worship for reasons that I'll never fully understand. |

At the moment it looks like warm hearted magical girl anime but I can see it getting but I can not tell by it only being two episode at the moment. |
So last night I watched the dub of Madoka Magica: Rebellion Story with my brother and I think I have finally nailed down my opinion on what might possibly be the most polarizing anime film since End of Eva. Keep in mind that this is going to be a spoiler heavy analysis so anyone who has not seen the movie at this point stop reading now! You have been warned.
First off I think it's best to start off with what I think everyone can agree with, this movie is a land mark on visual spectacle alone. The series itself had several moments of jaw dropping gorgeous and stunning animation with it's unique art style but Rebellion Story takes everything the series did and escalates it. Two shots of note that my brother pointed out was 1. Sayaka's sword jabbed into Homura's shield with the camera placed within the cogs of said sheild and 2. Kyubey being cast in the shadow of a falling blimp as his eyes illuminated from the darkness. Now then, on to the movie itself I still stand that the middle portion (starting from Homura's reversion from Moemura to her more well known self up until the last fifteen minutes of the film) is where the movie is at it's high point with enough suspense, beautiful cinematography/animation and just good writing to keep any fan of the series invested and satisfied with the movie's mere existence. However then there's those other two parts and, well... let's touch on those briefly shall we? Yes, the first third or so is a jarring opener for those going into this expecting it to pick up exactly where the series left off but those who have seen this know that this is an intentional choice in order to leave the audience just as confused as the characters are about the whole thing and once the charade is lifted I must say that it's at least an interesting change of pace to say the least. As for the ending of the film, having since this in english I now have a better understanding of the film and can say that it was foreshadowed and does not come right out of left field as some claim. My only complaint is that it leaves off on a cliffhanger and, with a continuation having yet to be announced, goes completely unresolved and might come off feeling like a giant middle finger to some viewers. Speaking of that dub, this might just be just me as I find that I often have a better time following dialogue spoken in my native tongue but I found that without the need of having to shift my eyes back and forth from the subtitles and what was going on on screen it was much easier to pick up on several subtleties woven into both writing and animation. One example being Mami attaching one of her ribbons to Homura as she past by her in her apartment before their big fight (best scene in the movie, FYI) and was a nice touch that shows just how much thought went into this film from a technical standpoint. I should also give credit to the english cast which really stepped up their game for this outing. Cristina Vee and Casandra Lee were still great as Homura and Kyubey respectively but I'd also like to give mention to Sarah Williams' stand out performance as Sayaka who single handedly stole the show for me and made one of my least favorite of the five lead characters into a strong second. Sorry Kyoko, but you've been dethroned. In conclusion, after now having seen this film a solid three times (once in theaters, again online and a final time in English.) and can finally close the book on this story and deem Madoka Magica: Rebellion as a perfectly acceptable continuation of one of my personal favorite anime shows but only a great one had it been given a proper conclusion. Here's hoping we get a sequel in some form later on down the line... keyword being "hoping" of course. |
I watched some random episodes of Parapa the Rapper.

Garo: The Animation is pretty good so far. I might have to check out the live-action series (I'm seriously confused on how to word this) in the near future.

You people need to watch Ore Monogatari! :lol

Watching Zetman. It's fairly new since it came out three years ago. If you like Kamen Rider, The Guyver and Devilman then you should get a kick out of it. I read the manga once ages ago but it was only chapter 1 since it was the only one that they had available on Manga Fox back in 2009.

I need to jump back into Samurai Flamenco AKA best anime of 2013-2014.

Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold...unsure how I feel about it in comparison to other Seiya series. Will watch a few more episodes to see.
|
I've been catching up on Vanguard G.
There's a filler episode where Chrono watches a toku show starring three characters from the first series. The ending to this episode is simply hilarious. :lol |
Still waiting for a new Gundam series to be announced.....
|
Build Fighters season 3 is pretty much a lock
and they pretty much can't do worse than the dumpster fire that was Recon in G |
I was planning to continue watching Digimon Adventure (which is pretty bad imho, but I really wanted to watch all Digimon seasons so I have to finish this one someday) but then a guy at Karaoke night taught us to play Go and so I started watching Hikaru no Go. It's a pretty cool show so far and I like especially the characters in it. Sai is hilarious xD
