I'm doing okay.

Don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm struggling with stress at my job.
I'm a cashier at a Meijer (grocery/retail store) in a busy part of town. Part time, working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. My sleep schedule is done for. We're low on cashiers and my bosses won't let me change my department because of that. Trying to job hunt closer to home, and things aren't going so well.

Been drawing on my phone a lot. Could probably share some things, if y'all are interested.

At my work, I've been taking twice as long to do things that would normally be quick tasks. I'm operating the best I can but I often feel like my clients aren't extending the same level of understanding and patience I am putting out there.

It's good to have an outlet like drawing. Maybe branch out to new mediums? I've been seeing some cool embroidery stuff and I think I might give it a try. There's no way it can be as expensive as my other hobby, toy collecting, right?

Yeah. I hate retail, but most of the job openings in my area are warehouse/Amazon or more retail. And I want to quit, but my parents are pulling Ye Olde "don't quit until you have another job lined up" shtick.
I'm unhappy here, but I'm hoping reducing my hours and getting work closer to home will give me time to decompress.

I'm also working in game design. Been working on a card game for 5 years now (to simply put it, Furry Fire Emblem) and I feel like I'm in the final stretch, artwork notwithstanding. Got two other game ideas, too, one more complete than the other.

My father's been pestering me about putting more time into what I consider a hobby; saying if I put more time into it, I'd have it done by now, bringing up my stress at work and desire to quit as a reason I should work on it harder. I hate parents sometimes.

Ummm if you saw people talking shit about you and your friends, would you tell your friends or would you keep it to yourself as to not anger/hurt your friends?

Sorry don't know why but it was going to bug me if I didn't say it. If you work 40 hours a week that is a full time job not a part time.

Word of advice: don't retaliate. It'll only make things worse. Otherwise you or your friends might end up doing something you'll regret and might possibly land you in hot water with the local law enforcement.

If possible, kill them with kindness. Just try to be nice. That's how I was able to befriend some people at my old school who used to pick on me. Now we're bros.
