That was probably my favorite story arc of all of Fourze. It was really well done, I think.
|
Yeah it was an excellent way to wrap up Meteor's arc while highlighting the best traits of the cast, while also introducing Fusion States. It was very well done.
My only concern is that the show it's already entering it's final episodes, and it feels like the Horoscopes haven't accomplished anything I'm going to miss Ryuusei so much when I finish the series... I need my weekly dosis of WOO and WAACHAA, plus his One-inch punch is just badass. |
Watching the original Kamen Rider series. It's so 1970s cheesy it hurts.
I love it. Aside from the annoying crying kid early on, I'm really liking the first few episodes. It's nice to see Hongo struggle with his powers so much that he can't even console a victim. For being 1970s, the storytelling is alright. Far from perfect, but nowhere near as terrible as I'd thought it would be. |
Episode 40 of Ryuki oh God seriously HOW THE HELL DID HE BREAK OUT?? Seriously, are those cops bad guys or something? How did that fucking breakout work?
Ouja is literally the worst thing to happen to this show. He is every single aspect of bad writing rolled into one horrible package. Also Alternative's final vent may be the silliest thing since since Odin's middle-school play death. Protip to action directors everywhere: the main character spinning DOESN'T LOOK COOL. It looks dumb, like the Wonder Woman music is gonna start playing. Unless you're a drill or spinning vertically instead of horizontally, you're not cool, you're stupid. Especially if you're a cool guy with a final attack that's a rickety-looking dirtbike smaller than you are. Knight's Survive final may look dumb, but at least he, like, turns into a bullet. I'll believe he has some method of inflicting damage in that form. But Alternative? I just, damn that was dumb. Tiger's still cool, as a villain, though. His hero philosophy is chilling and twisted. Why is THIS the phsychotic we get in the tail end instead of Ouja? God, I just can't get over that. That Tiger is the last ten-episodes guy and Ouja is a main character. And he calls Ouja the worst Rider and isn't a BIT intimidated. Has the show just been listening to me and is apologizing by giving me a worthwhile villain? AND Zolda was present (and charming as always) and even mentioned how long it's been since his utterly spectacular finisher has been used. (even though he didn't get to use it) It's like the second half of this episode is my brain! Though that stupid plot point of the riders only spending so long in the mirror world returns, and stupidly of course. Despite everyone showing up at WILDLY different times, they all start fizzling at once. Pbpbpbpbppbpbpb... EDIT: Oh jeez who is this? Imperer? This guy is kinda funny, trying to join both sides with the same lines. He keeps business cards in his deck? Holy crap that's funny. |
One of the things I don't remember from Ryuki is Alternative Zero's Final Vent, actually. Picturing it from your description alone is kind of funny.
Anyway, Tiger was always pretty cool. His mentality was interesting and his entire demeanor was cold. I like villains like that. And you just got to Imperer, eh? I'm like, the only one who likes him, and I'm pretty sure once you see more of him, I'm still gonna be the only one to like him :lol |

Also I have no problems with Blade except for I feel this Leangle storyline is a bit long but I am really enjoying all the characters so it's not really bugging me. I love the action in Blade honestly. |

I do like Leangle, but his entire story dragged on. |
Ryuki episodes 23-28
Seriously, what was the fucking point of that time Vent from Odin? I was watching the entire episode trying to wait for plot but it didn't happen. All for what? A point to create an alternate movie timeline and a stupid clip show?!?!?!?!!! And this brings up even more plot holes in the series it never had before. How the hell does this card work? If odin was trying to change something by reversing time, why was he surprised when Ryuki punched him? Did the card make alternate time lines for the other 4 Riders where everybody forgot but them? Are there 5 rider war timelines going on at the same time? I thought this was going to be the episode where the second Survive card was going to be pulled out of Shinji's ass.... I mean deck. Nope Perfect chance to redeem an episode Writers.I did like Shinji defying time though, but it didn't redeem a boring clipshow. At least a few episodes before, Genocider showed up. My problems with Ryuki are growing, Yui oniichaning all over the fucking plot, Ouja not acting scary in the slightest and every rider except Shinji is now a dick. Before, at least there were minor problems that were covered up by 3 great riders and an amzing female supporting character ( Hint: its not Yui). Now there are bigger problems and only 2 Riders I like and half assed side plots involving a great supporting role. I do have to give props to the Ryuki writers for making Ouja the first male serial killer in history to not have an urge to rape a woman right in front of him |
Odin turned back time so the picture didn't get wrecked.
Okay, I have a serious question. Without spoiling how or when, I need to know: Does Zolda die? I'm pretty sure he does, because of his illness and the rider war. I have a sneaking suspicion he will, and I'm pretty saddened by this idea. He's hands down the best written, best portrayed character in the show. I only hope he goes out in a fitting way, either like a champ in a blaze of glory, or calmly succumbing to his sickness. I'll be pissed if he's a shock death or a cheap kill from another character. |
Sorry to DP, but Ryuki 42: Tiger may be my second favourite current Rider. He is just... wow. What he just did and how he handled it was crazy. Those tears, those completely sincere, but utterly, utterly evil tears.
Meanwhile, is it just me or is Knight COMPLETELY superfluous to the plot? What is here for, exactly? He doesn't really do anything, he's not cool, he has no personality, he has no exceptional motives. (I WILL FIGHT BUT I WON'T FIGHT I THINK?) He's just... there. What's the point? At least Ryuki is trying to change the game, albeit slowly and clumsily. What is Knight doing to further the plot in any way? Zolda has his own plot and is sort of drifting to Ryuki's side, and as much as I hate him, Ouja at least serves the purpose of being the driving conflict. Knight might as well not be there. Also that end bit with the useless woman was so badly done. I don't understand why if you have terrible effects you don't find creative ways around using them. Did they really need her eye to glow white and then a still image of her to roll onto the screen? |
We decided to show one of our friends the first four episodes of W today. He is not fully sold on the series, but he did enjoy most of what he saw (it was that ugly CGI T-Rex that ruined it for him in episode 2).
ALso, someone can actually stand Tiger long enough AND like him???? |

BTW, 43 has Kido just assaulting Imperer while he literally runs off crying. Better luck next time, horn-head? And Ouja beating up Tiger was dumb. Oh, it makes perfect sense (though Tiger accepting a one-on-one seems odd) and Ouja bested him legitimately, but I hate seeing shit characters get the upper hand over better ones. Especially since Ouja does only seem to be a certain skill and power level when the plot demands he be. Though they're both villains who deserve punishment for their crimes so either of them getting beaten doesn't really bother me. But still, Tiger left the battle laughing while Ouja threw another baby boy temper tantrum. Other stand-out moments: "I know I'm rich, smart and cool." But has anyone told you you're modest, Zolda? I'm so glad I bought the Figuarts of him because I really just want a little arrogant lawer crawling around my table. That, and he totally gets one up on Ouja and Imperer in one fell swoop. In fact, Zolda was pretty badass this ep, FINALLY getting to use his Final Vent. And like before, it's like a fucking tanker truck exploded. It didn't even hit the two and they got blasted out of the mirror world. For a guy who's supposedly getting weaker, he still packs a whollop. |
The T-Rex scene in Double was horrid. Like, they spent no work on making it look good at all. I'm glad they ditched the giant monster route, and only used it sparingly afterwards.

Den-O 45
Holy crap I just git confused. Oh and this Kai dude is the most annoying Rider Villian Ive seen. |

I wonder if T-rex head was a late idea in the first arc's planning since they diodn't properly promote Revolgarry? By the way, I'm sure it's been done, but in light of Zolda's badassery this image came to mind... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...ps187bfd62.png Quote:

And I do feel like the T-Rex was added just to promote the Revolgarry, since it didn't get very much use... Quote:

It really feels like Den-O was having so much fun it forgot it had a plot until the last 10 episodes. |

Episode 10 of OOO. Maki is kind of a bastard, isn't he.
|
Ryuki's degenerating a bit. We're in the final stretch on episode 44 and there's a lot of silly filler scenes like the cafe and Ore Journal. Really pointless stuff that just makes me wish we'd get back to the plot. But of course any scene with Zolda is welcome even if it's just little stuff like him turning into a butterball when someone flashes a suitcase full fo cash at him.
Also, nobody ever answered my question about him? |

As long as he goes out befitting his character. I just don't want some quick death scene that's glossed over or anything. I just hope he get's one more moment of awesome before he goes out. Also, Imperer was... almost seriously heartbreaking. Like no joke, he wasn't the greatest guy ever, and he's far from an amazing character, but I really felt bad. He was a kid in over his head, just wanting more for himself in life. Selfish, maybe, but hardly an evil motivation. Everyone wants more in life, and he just wanted to be happy. As soon as he got that he tossed his deck away. He wasn't a bad guy, just a bit of a selfish guy. Though once again, the "contract" with the monsters is just ignored. I thought the deal was the riders kill other monsters for them, and if they fail that or lose their decks, the monsters eat them? Literally that's only been shown with Scissors, everyone else has just fizzled away. Also it means Ouja got another cheap kill with his silly final attack. Seriously, I'm not sure what the point was. How did he even know where they were? Was he even in the episode before that? Though once again we see Tiger's twisted morality at work. The dude belongs in a padded room. Did we ever get an explanation to why there were three Tiger decks, or how he got it despite working against Shiro? |

You know, the one who didn't want to fight them. Also, onto 45: "Just consider them strange Christmas ornaments." Everything truely funny comes out of Zolda, I've found. I'm rather dissapointed that he's used so little in rider form. He's still around, but he fights very little even though when he does he usually does a fair amount of damage. |
Ryuki 46: Um, oh wow... Tiger is dead. I did not see that coming. Also, Ouja may be dead, too, but since logic crumbles and dies around him, he's probably fine. Zolda and Gorou almost didn't make it, which had me worried. Oh, and Ryuki and Knight are fighting or some shit... they're not important. Anythign with Knigth isn't important, he's the blandest most confused charatcer in this show. At least Ouja gets some kind of response from me, halk the time I forget Knight's even there, and Ryuki is simply not as interesting as everyone else.
Also, I count nine riders having appeared so far, (Ryuki, Knight, Zolda, Scissors, Raia, Ouja, Tiger, Odin and Imperer) I thought there were 13? Are they really gonna cram 4 new characters into the last three episodes? |

You skipped Gai in your list, who would be the 10th Rider to appear in series. |

EDIT: Episode 47: Well, it happened. It was very poignant as ZeoRanger said. I knew it was coming, but it was still sad. I feel especially bad for Gorou. Oh, and Ouja's still alive. Yeah, he survived a fucking CAR BOMB with nothing more than dirt on his face. What the actual fuck. Tell me, is he a robot? Because no human being is this resiliant or poorly motivated. EDIT 2: Wait, Zolda's not dead? Hooray! But wait, he still dies right? o_o |
Yeah, the major failing of Ryuki is NOT having all 13 riders in the series itself. It never made sense to me. Don't tell me there is going to be a rider war among 13 riders if there aren't actually thirteen god damn riders in the show!!!!!! It makes the writers look bad because it is like they completely forgot about what they said back in episode 2.
|
Dragon Knight had everyone, and as poorly handed as people claimed it to be, I had no idea those three listed above were movie only, those Riders never felt out of place in the series for me.

Also, big revelation about Yui... that was kind of ruined by the BREAKNECK pace of the scene in which it was revealed. That's the entire point of her character and it's dumped on us in UNDER A MINUTE. Way to suck any drama out of that scene with a silly straw, there. Also it was so... dumb. Her mirror verison reanimates her dead body what? What is happening? What does that have to do with anything we've seen? And she's so stupid about it. What the hell do you mean you never existed? At the very least you were a child, but Shiro's right, this doesn't really change anything. And after all that, she still dies. Oh no you had so much to live for blah blah why should I care, again? I hate to be that way, but why should I be sad or care at all about a character who just acted like wimp and couldn't act her way out of her own Beiber haircut? (and neither can Shiro. He's spent the whole show monotoning and I see why. Dude gets silly face when he's anything but perv-staring) Now I have a question. I'm halfway through 49, and there's only one episode left after this, right? Now, I heard the movie has an alternate ending. If that's true, which should I watch? Which is the more sensible, better-done finale? |
I know the 13 Riders TV Special is an alternate universe that gets reset because the results aren't to the antagonist's liking, so it's loosely canon.
I don't remember it's movie to save my life, though, sorry. |
