This is the third time the group outside have sung We Wish You a Merry Christmas. I know we don't celebrate it (not officially anyway), but it hasn't even been Thanksgiving yet. Isn't it still too early for Christmas music?

By almost 6 weeks.It's one thing to get into the spirit of Christmas but another to over milk it. That's too over the top too early. I wait till about the 23rd of December otherwise I would barf by the time we got there Knock it off.

I've been getting annoyed lately by how early people are celebrating Christmas. I love Christmas, but when people start celebrating it on Nov 1st, I'm ready to move on by the time Christmas comes around. Celebrating this early makes it feel less special, imo.

It doesn't help that LA has absolutely no Christmas vibes anywhere. My family back home is posting about blizzards and such while it still looks like summer here.

Y'all are complaining about celebrating Christmas 'early'. Meanehile, us Filipinos started doing Chrstmas stuff since September.

Doctor Who Update

I placed a pre order for The Power Of The Doctor. I now resume weekly for the 2005 run. I should be able to include the 3 60th specials for Doctor Who XL and the main episodes by 2025. Power Of The Doctor will be in Spring 2025.

I have legitimate trauma from working holiday retail that's triggered by Shopping Mall Christmas Pop. Any day before December 21st is "too early" to me.

September? That's very early.

Filipinos have been celebrating Christmas since September for a long time now. In our culture, the '-ber' months are essentially Christmas.

We even have an unofficial 'theme song' that starts playing in malls and radios once September 1 hits. It might as well be Philippine's equivalent to Jingle Bells because of how widespread it is. My cousins and I joke that there's no escaping it.

LOL, by Talisman's comment, I was honestly expecting something sung out-of-tune and genuinely awful, but it actually sounds...quite lovely. Though I probably would get sick of hearing it after September.

But what about Halloween?

Starting DCs Titans Series III once it comes in. V likely the last so I'll finish the series on DVD.

In Philippines, Halloween's like a two or three day affair. The first two days are spent on candy sales and the actual Halloween is for the holiday. Then people generally revert back to Christmas mode the day after.

This song plays until New Years. You have no idea how many times it gets stuck on repeat on my head. It's a lovely song but yeah it gets worn out around October.

Honestly, I've just gotten used to it. I love Christmas, yes I love Thanksgiving, but given how much people here want to forget about that holiday (ironic) nothing surprises me anymore. Heck, people are ready to celebrate Christmas mid- July here.

Well, in my country, Christmas is celebrated on January 7th, so it's just a slightly more special day in the two-week New Year's festivities.

Easter is typically the Big Holiday for you guys, isn't it? Or am I thinking of your less-than-friendly neighbors.

It seemed to me that Easter in all Christian countries is considered a great holiday and is only celebrated in different ways.

Well I watched Rocky VIII Creed II. Just when things seem like the final movie they decide to do a Rocky IX Creed III.

As for Christmas it generally is a cash grab and cash cow ( Different aspects) which has sort of let the air out of the room and the meaning of it is lost on a lot of people.

I will watch a movie which isn't any of the old stand by movies that turn up on Christmas.

I don't think the Creed movies are actually considered Rocky 7 8 and 9, they're just Creed 1 2 and 3.

Labeling spinoff films as part of the main line along with keeping their numbering must make keeping track of full titles a nightmare.

Wiki said Creed III was the 9th in the series over all. The numbering depends on when they were released. Man Of Steel is the 6th Superman movie over all. The Nick TMNT live moves are 5th and 6th total released. Bumblebee is the 6th over all Trans Formers movie for live films.

There are movies that come out not part of the main live films. (Like Solo and Rogue 1.)

I've started watching movies on DVD due to COVID-19 but costs have now prevented me from seeing a movie on the big screen at all.

Out of curiosity has costs kept you guys away from movies on the big screen out right?

Combined my total is 50 bucks for the night with extra expenses. So I don't go at all.

I rarely go to the cinema. I'm not a hardcore movie enthusiast and I prefer watching from the comfort of my bed anyway.

Honesstly, I think it's far cheaper to stay at home and watch movies. Some say that going to the cinema is great because you can feel the 'vibe' of the audience watching with you and, while I understand that mindset and am not against it, I value discussing the stuff I watch with other people over letting the vibe of the audience affect my movie watching experience.

I'm resuming my Pocket Monsters US run on DVD. I can see up to BW Adventures In Unova and Adventures In Unova And Beyond. I will be up to Kalos in the Anime on DVD.

Resuming with Advanced (Series VI). I was trying to fill in as much as I can on DVD.

A 7th movie has been confirmed so I picked up a 5 pack of all movies before Bumblebee.

Also the Tomb Raider relaunch movie from 2018.
