I don't believe weapons need to be compatible with the gimmicks to be good but I do believe they need something more than a button and an on/off switch. The daidaimaru could connect to the mussou saber which activated a connecting sound and had lights. Those three tiny things may sound insignificant but I feel like they go a long way in providing a tactile, auditory and visual satisfaction when playing with the toy.

I'd love it if you could go more in depth with why you like the sword so much. Our first impressions are so drastically different from each other's lol.

Agreed, that extra bit of functionality on the ddm does add a lot to the play value. Not to mention there's kinda, for lack of a better term, a mini "game" (you know what I'm referring to) in there, too. Also, it's an orange slice sword!

I think my main draw to this one is the purple/yellow color combo, it's also my favorite Build form at the moment, so that's influencing me, I'm sure. It's also pretty damn clever integrating manga panels into a sword as is the upcoming bow that combines a boat anchor with a train. Now that I hear it has scribbling sounds, I'm liking it even more. It's just so random it's cool, I guess. I should probably wait to see it in action before I gush over too much, though. lol

Also as a general question are the gimmick holders worth it ?
With the Pandora Panel holding 10 bottles and the Holder holding 3
It doesnt seem like there will be enough spaces
Apart from the bottles that comes with them are they worth getting as gimmick storage?
I saw the Gashat Case last year and you would have needed a few of them.for all the gashats, just wondering if this was standard for them

I feel the same way about it visually. The look of it is super fun and I absolutely love how the tip of the sword is a nib.

I was thinking all day yesterday how I would change it so that I enjoyed it more. I would turn the nib and all the individual panels into buttons. The panels would activate the ninjitsu and finisher standby sounds and the nib would activate the scribbling sound, explosions and sound effects for the ninjitsu. The trigger would only activate slashing sounds.

I could imagine Build, in the show, stabbing the ground or enemies with the sword and "ink" flowing from the nib to do various things. I think adding that little bit of physical action to the sword would make it way more fun for kids and collectors and bring it back to feeling more like a rider weapon for me.

Did you put in a preorder for it on HLJ?

It's actually in stock at HJL, but sadly I'm passing. I even cancelled my driver and BC figure preorders. I was going to go all in with Build stuff, but since coming off my 3 year KR haiutus, I rewatched Gaim (again) and decided I wanted to put my funds into completing my Lockseeds instead. My collection is all over the place. I have 30 switches, 4 trains, 9 hibiki discs, 6 candroids, ect ect. I want to finally complete something, ya know?

I totally get you. I thought about not collecting ex aid because I'm so close to completing ghost. I fell in love with the show and the toys for ex aid so that went out the window real quick lol. I'll probably end up only buying the full bottle sets for build so maybe I'll go back to ghost.

How close are you to completing gaim?

It's gonna be hard! I still do have a few bottles on preorder as they are cheap and I can just add them to my warehouse shipment from HLJ, but other than that, I gotta be good...

As far as Lockseeds go, I still need 9 more! It's a never ending task it seems, but I'm gonna do it!

Ugh. I loved being able to preorder the first SODO Build set, and I'm bummed that even though boxes have been solicited for the next four waves, neither HLJ nor AmiAmi have offered set preorders.

And it looks like the Bandai Candy blog was updated, so wave two is Night Rogue, HawkGatling, NinninComic, and RocketPanda. I wasn't expecting the third just yet!
