I had my doubts, but this looks awesome. The video game vibes, the animal companions. My big concern is how they are going to integrate with Zenkaiger as a rare on-going second-season of sorts for Sentai.

I don't know why but I'm getting this vibe of cartoonish seriousness from these suits and their gimmicks.

Big oof. Considering the "quality" of Sentai CG mecha... that could make me pass on the entire thing without even giving it a chance.

I love Tokusatsu because it's real suits, not cheap computer animations. We have enough of those nowadays as is.

You're used to seeing black cat animated in that style like persona 5.
Dogs tend to be not black and more fluffy/round while cats are sharp/angular.

It will be interesting how they use Pink/Black.

Sentai clearly is trying to experiment more.


They've been on this train ever since Gaoranger. Though once again I wonder why no full on sentai animations at this point. Or even all CG movies.

Well at least the helmets look a bit more conventional, although unusual in itself for the anniversary show to be quite experimental. Nice visor shapes!

The vehicle is a tease for one mecha half, at least. I see a leg and an arm along the side of it.

Cause then it's no longer tokusatsu.

I'm fine with them trying out new things like some members being CG. We got Kyuranger trying out some members being fully-suited characters. LuPat tried Sentai v Sentai. Zenkaiger made the whole team minus the leader suited characters. If they wanna try some members being portrayed in CG, then let them I'd say.

It's not like it's the full series going that route. Plus Sentai's been using CG for certain parts of its production for a couple of years now.

And it consistently looks awful, that's the problem. If they got better at it then I would've been on board. But the CG-animated mecha or the full CG Secchan in Zenkaiger still look terrible.

If they wanted to make a fully animated Sentai, fine by me, as a spin-off or something. But mixing real suits and environments with subpar CG animation just doesn't work for me. But hey, if the kids get a kick out of it then all is well, that's all that matters.

Definitely some interesting suits, and it's interesting to see how spot on rumours were this year, even from pretty early on

I do have some hesitancy about what the quality of the CGI will be like, but for main characters in a series where CGI seems to be a big gimmick, I do hope there will be some more time and effort put into the CGI... Though I do hope huge amounts of CGI don't just become more and more of a norm for Toei tokusatsu overall, but that might be a bit of a premature worry lol

At this point the big thing I want to know is the head writer for the show! Tbh I kinda want Junko Komura to stay on if it's a sequel-element heavy show (also Junko Komura is just one of my favourite active toku writers I feel like, so I'd just be happy to see her do two shows in a row lol)

But if the Zenkaiger connections are more casual then I'd be happy to see a different writer of course.

Just curious, does anyone else have a particular writer they'd like to see?
