Read both Anniversary Issues for Daredevil and All New X-Men.

They are both really good and alot better than X-Men Gold was last year. Especially the Daredevil one kicked ass. The cover on this one by Paolo Rivera was killer and the only cover in ages I really took my time to look at.

The X-Men one had some really funny moments but was overall pretty dark and kinda depressing. So now that I saw Bruce Timm drawing something official in one of Marvels titles I so wanna see them hiring him to do his own monthly book or hell even a Mini would be fine :lol

Let's see what's new in algo land...

Finished the last arc of Avengers Assemble, which is also the only arc I've read.. mostly because it had Anya.
It was an inhumanity tie-in, but also required zero knowledge of the event, which was nice (the heck was with that thing!?) essentially, Anya need help tracking down a cocoon and in each issue a different set of Avengers help her, it was fun, had good art, and it never took itself too seriously, so it was nice, kind of an Avengers lite if that makes any sense.

First issue of All-New Ultimates was... a major letdown, the last few issues of Spider-Man had built up the team and made it look like a very promising read, but the book is fairly monotonous, the chemistry the characters previously had was lost, the dialgoue wasn't very interesting and the art oscillated between decent to kind of awful honestly.
And it had one of the worst moments in recent Ultimate Spider-Man memory where Miles and co esentially stand around meanwhile a mutated villain murders a cop, Miles was literally between the two, so he could have stopped him, but he just moved away... that was seriously dumb.
I'm kinda bummed that a book with such an interesting cast turned like that. :P

Loki: Agent of Asgard was seriously fun, it was definitely aimed at movieverse fans with a Hiddleston influenced Loki, but the book recognizes this change and explains it well while introducing the main mistery at the same time, the art is nice, the diaogue engaging and the pacing good, plus it seems every issue will be it's own stand alone story, a plus in my book.
First issue starts with Loki literally backstabbing Thor, and the second one places him in a Speed Dating circle, what else could you want? :lol

I read the third Issue today and I gotta say after the first two I was kinda let down.

Really? What a bummer, hope it's the odd one out and it remains strong after that.


And somehow that reminded me of the main reason I made the post!

How come Clint continues to be protrayed as the cocky, arrogant, playful and loveable son of a quiver we all know and love in all books except his?
I love Hawkeye (the book), and understand that it has a different interpretation on Clint's personality, that's understandable, what I don't get it's that the book treats the more subdued and self-critical Clint as if that had always been his true personality, while the other books treat the world's best archer like usual.
I find that interesting.

And I really don't like his current suit... pseudo-rant over.

Yeah the issue was set in the past and revolved around the other loki so it is there to set up the plot but all in all it didnt grab me as much as the ones before.

I have to say I never really thought about it that way :lol It shows that I´m not that big of a Barton guy :lol

And yeah...I want the old costume back.

I love good ol Barton, and it shows how awesome the new book is that I'm willing to accept such an odd personality change without any given reason, but the fact that he's his regualr self in the other books is fairly odd.

I miss the circus look, but I'm willing to accept other costumes, with emphasis on "costume", a shirt and pant aren't a costume, and doesn't mix with Clint's personality.
Heck give him a modified Ronin costume in purple for all that I care, but the plain shirt gotta go. :lol

They could give him one that looks more like his movie costume. I like that one.

I also read the second issue of Magneot and damn...this book is violent as shit :lol

I love the coated look from the Age of Ultron set pictures, I'd love to get that costume in the comics.

Last time you described it as "Mutant Punisher", so I assume it must be quite the blood fest. :lol

In the first issue he impaled a guy with a bunch of metal rods...through his mouth.

In this one he lets a bunch of rusty nails rain down on a group of soldiers...then pins one guys hand to his face with said nails and to top it off pushes the nails completely through his hand into the guys head.

That is... that is seriously screwed up.

What's the story?

After his recent adventures with Cyclops new team of X-Men Magneto travels around the country and looks for people that are trying to kill mutants and kills them in return.

Oh an btw. Did I mention that during the whole nail scene Magneto has a monologue about his childhood in Nazi occupied poland where he witnessed a kid getting shot point blank in the back of the head because the kid refused to snitch on Erik stealing some bread? All while the kid Erik is hiding behind a fence listening to everything thats going on :lol

That makes sense.

The book is really messed up in that way but at the same time its really really well written. I just love Cullen Bunns writing :lol

I just love that according to this the Secret Invasion,Dark Reign,The Siege on Asgard,Fear Itself,Spider-Island and Avengers VS X-Men all hapaned in the span of only one year :lol

It also means that Tony, Norman and Steve only lasted roughly two and a half months each as leader of SHIELD, they must have been awful at the job. :lolol

Well if you look at what happened when they ran things its not surprising...not that Maria Hill is doing any better :lol

Oh yeah and Age of Ultron happened somewhere in there too :lol

Meh... it involved time travel, so I'm wiling to let that one slide.

Now that I think of it it would make more sense if Secret Invasion closed out the year before that one. So the last year on Earth 616 started with Osborns dark reign and ended with the fall of attilan.

I have to say I really love that Mark Waid worked that throwaway line into Indestructible Hulk. Its really fun to think about what happens in only one year :lol

Read the big finale of The Superior Spider-Man and oh boy...this was really underhwelming.

So the Amazing Spider-Man #01 huh? I liked it. Its off to a promising start but weird enough the best part about the issue was the backup feature for Spider-Man 2099. Man I cant wait for that book.

I've been mostly indifferent/disappointed by the pre-release details of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" thus far but they've finally managed to piss me off.


According to the latest interviews, most of the First Class mutants (namely Banshee, Azazel, Emma and Angel Salvadore died offscreen in-between films.

It feels to me like the studio views "First Class" as a failure & they're desperately sweeping almost everything relating to it under the rug. And they SHOULDN'T; First Class was a great film & I would've loved to see more like that.
