I'm surprise that they didn't give GT Gohan a SSj4 form yet. Not to mention they could have give Adult Gotenks a SSj4 form since they made GT Gotenks into a official character. Funny how yesterday's Dragon Ball AF is now today's reality.

Heroes can be a fun show if has good writing to it. Who cares if it's toy driven as long if it's fun and tells a good story to it.
|
I care if characters are thrown around like collectables and we get the same old "Tournament Game"-story where the protagonist needs to win this thing to pay the operation for his sick grandma or whatever.
I'm not saying Super is good, I actually stopped watching because of the whole "Retelling the movies"-bullshit, but a merchandise driven show is the last thing I want to see happening to Dragon Ball. |
Both Kai and Super where made to sell merchandise since Kai bombed due to poor merchandise sells (before they brought it back last year). Most kids shows in general are toy commercials, and not just in Japan. Even they are not blatant than others (TMNT, Kamen Rider, Yu-Gi-Oh, Transformers and Super Sentai/Power Rangers).

A show about Heroes wouldn't be about kids playing the game though. It has a story behind the game that could be turned into a show, which I assume is what Kiryu actually meant.

I just don't want to see a real world game involving fictional characters from a show getting turned into a show again, and last time I checked out the manga it was exactly that: Guys playing the game. If Kiryu meant something else I don't know about it. |
i been wanting see heros anime for long time. the fact i can see it being mainly a digimon style story where kids get sucked in the arcade game in the dragon ball world and need use the card reader device to summon said character to help fight said villian.

Yes it is exactly that, and no offence WhiteRanger, but this is what I don't want to see.
Maybe Kiryu ment the little side-stories that the game tells rather than the manga which is kids playing the game and getting sucked into the arcade machine/serving as ingame avatars to guide their Dragonball characters and summon them via cards. The manga is basically something along the lines of Gundam Build Fighters, it's set in a universe where Dragonball is also fictional and the Dragonball Heroes arcade game exists, and people fight against each other in a tournament and stuff. They use teams with a theme, like one dude has an avatar of a Freezer-alien and his team consists of the Freezer clan members, or the android guy who fights using the android characters. The heroes are saiyans in-game and summon the saiyan heroes, Goku and friends. I liked Gundam Build fighters, because the appeal in this is that you use Gunpla which is already a thing and combined it with the fact that Gundam is also about the machines, so people pilot their favorite mechs and fight against each other. That makes sense to me. Summoning Dragonball characters via cards and let them battle like Pokémon/Digimon doesn’t. |

This sounds all very videogame-esque to me, wasn’t Xenoverse basically the same thing? The hero getting sucked into the Dragon Ball-world and helping them fight I mean.
Honestly at this point I think we should give Super a little bit more time and wait for the Jaco-OVA (that needs to happen!) before we talk future spin-offs. But if the Dragon Ball Heroes-thing continues to be successful, I just assume it is, we might get a show like this at some point. I just wouldn’t like it, but that isn’t stopping it from happening. |

I must say that this week's episode of Dragon Ball Super was pretty good. The animation was a step up over last week's episode and lots of funny gags happen too. I thought the last two or three episodes of Super where boring.

Some fan subs for the new episode are up. Fan subbers are trying to be dark and edgy with their subs :rolleyes

Dragon Team should have their subs by now (not from the image I posted). They are pretty good when it comes to subbing in my opinion.

Ehh, I plan on watching the BOG and RF arcs when they're done. It just seems kinda like a waste to spend an entire episode on like 5 minutes from the movies. I really was excited for the new show, but it kinda seems from reviews it's kinda meh. I haven't been watching it because I can't deal with the Japanese voices at all.
Although this slower pacing does remind me of the original DBZ anime with all the filler it had. I can also totally see this becoming part of DBKai in the future. |
Episode 5 did suck since I do agree that making a 5 minute fight into a 20 minute battle was a waste. However Episode 6 was pretty good seeing that the humor was very funny. I'm glad to have more humor in the series again. I'm not one of those fans who wants 99% action and 1% story.

I'm avoiding it until either the first arch is completed or until the dub version is released over here. |

I don't care if I watch a show made for kids. I would watch something like Steven Universe over crap like Mr. Pickles. |

I think the retelling of BOG and ROF in Super could be because Toriyama had stuff that he wanted to with them, but couldn't due to run time issues.

Chapter 3 of the Super manga is out.
http://mangafox.me/manga/dragon_ball_chou/c003/1.html Some of the translations here are pretty bad like dropping the F bomb and Vegeta saying "Cock sucker!". |
So the Death of Yamcha figure came out and photos that are coming with it are pure gold

How much does he cost? |
I saw tonight's new episode of Super and turns out Videl is having a baby. I guess Super is set 4 years after Buu after all. So far the BOG saga has been boring expect for Episode 1, Episode 2 and Episode 6. I would have give up on the show by now, but I do look forward on how they will retell ROF. At least we can get a episode on Jaco before he goes back to Earth to warn everyone about Freeza.
My least favorite sagas in the DB franchise would be (top being the worst and bottom being the least bad): Super 17 saga (I personally hated this saga, but that's just me) Garlic Jr. saga Black Star Dragon Ball saga Battle of Gods saga or Beerus saga whatever you want to call it Bebi saga Buu saga 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai saga |
Haven't watched this episode yet but did bulma mention Tarble like she did in BOG
|
There's just been so many little things that have bugged me about the BoG arc. Why was Garlic Jnr and co there when they didn't actually DO anything this time around? I mean they were pretty pointless in the movie, but at least they had that moment with Gohan playing superhero.
Then there was the Oolong bit last week, which completely dropped the whole pig hand thing off the rock-paper-scissors and replaced it with a really boring stalemate joke. And as I said on Twitter recently - as fun as the Vegeta making takoyaki was it'll never beat the movie's dubbed bingo song :lol |

Oh yeah, dunno how I mixed those two up there :lol
They're both small and forgettable I guess. |
Check out what I got today at my anime convention's charity auction:

Can I just say that Dragon Ball Super is really pissing me off? We are 9 episodes into the series now and they still haven't finished retelling Battle of Gods!! This was a 105 minute movie if you go for the extended editions run time, which is the equivalent to 5 episodes. FIVE EPISODES!! They did not need to take what was a 3-4 minute scene in the movie and turn it into a full 22 minute episode!! This MS Paint animated schlock is adding nothing new to the franchise aside from completely ruining Toriyama's original ending with its plot holes so big that even Melissa McCarthy is like, "Damn, son." That's not to say there aren't some great parts, as the comedy is well done, but the fights are needlessly dragged out and there isn't even a manga to use as an excuse this time around. I love Nozowa and Horikawa, but they are no longer able to pull off the voices for Goku and Vegeta anymore. The music has been pretty good until we get this 1990s sounding midi file used for when Goku appeared that was just awful and did not match up with the rest of the music. Finally, the Super Saiyan God transformation might have been cool if it hadn't been done better in the movie where it was like 10 seconds as opposed to 10 minutes. Anyway, enough of my rant. This show needs to do something new quick because I'm losing my patience for it. If it didn't have Dragon Ball in the title, I would drop it like an H Bomb.

Well looks like BOG retelling will end at Episode 13. Here's the titles for the upcoming episodes:
Episode #10 — 13 September 2015 Show Me, Goku! The Power of Super Saiyan God! Episode #11 — 20 September 2015 Let’s Keep Going Beerus-sama! The Battle of Gods Continues! Episode #12 — 27 September 2015 The Universe Crumbles?! Clash! The God of Destruction vs Super Saiyan God! Episode #13 — 04 October 2015 Goku, Go Surpass Super Saiyan God! http://www.kanzenshuu.com/2015/09/09...mber-schedule/ So it seems like the rest of October and November will likely be after BOG and before ROF then ROF in November. December will likely be when Universe 6 saga starts at this rate. |
