Took two days to unlock all the characters. Yep. And it's still fun to play.

The lack of stages is a bit of a turnoff though.

Had the game since Friday, but so far I've only gotten Falco unlocked. As of right now I'm surprised how much fun I'm having using Robin.I thought for sure I would be maining Charizard or Greninja, but I've found myself constantly using Robin.

Greninja and that damned dog are the characters I'm most interested in using.
Though I don't think I'll see the game until Thursday or Friday, so...

Barely played much tonight (too many things to watch heh), but I was totally considering having Greninja become my new second already.

Then I played as Bowser. Nnnope, he's probably staying put. But Greninja's a close third.

People seem to love Bowser in this one.

You know what's funny? I bet they'd add Dark Samus as a character before Ridley just to tick fans off even more.

Metroid needs another representative. Its ridiculous that Fire Emblem has four and Kid Icarus: Uprising has three (one of which has as many different attacks as FOUR characters) and Metroid is still stuck at one and they're the same character in different clothes.

There's some misconception (not necessarily you, mind) that Dark Samus would be a dumb Dark Pit-esque addition, but it wouldn't be. Dark Samus is only "Samus" in name, it is a completely different beast that wouldn't have anything in common with Samus' move-set at all.

Honestly, that's a really dumb list of removals. Three out of five are from the original SSB roster and thus would never be removed, two out of five are the ONLY representatives of their respective franchise, one of the five represents an important part of Nintendo history, two out of five are better known that at least 90% of the rest of the entire roster and ALL five are completely original characters with completely original move-sets.

Remove: Dr Mario, Dark Pit, Rob, Lucario, a Fire Emblem character (I have no preference really)

Add: Mewtwo, Tetra, Ice Climbers, Snake, Professor Layton

Bonus: Ecco the Dolphin as an assist trophy. Will not stop campaigning for it until it happens.

I am actually really pissed off that Pit gets a complete move-set overhaul and Paluntena, a really minor character when it comes to Nintendo's history, is apparently relevant enough to get 400% more moves then any other character and yet Ganondorf is still kept exactly the same.

Also, why does Dark Pit have a new Final Smash and Lucina doesn't? Don't give me the "it doesn't make sense for Dark Pit to have those weapons" crap when the same game has Sheik with Light Arrows, the Koopalings transforming into Shadow Mario and Lucina using health bars from a game she never even appeared in.

Despite my bitching about some of the frankly stupid decisions and the painfully obvious Sakurai bias, I'm still really enjoying the game. My main's Lemmy and I love him! Duck Hunt Dog and Villager are also ridiculously fun to play as.

Has anyone here completed all the Challenges? I've done nearly all of them but I'm having some difficulty with the "4 KOs on Cruel Smash" one. My best results are with Greninja or Lucina and just standing on the edge and countering, but I still have only managed three KOs. I don't want to use any Golden Hammers...

Oh so there are more than 35? That's nice to know, I only have something about 3 costumes left to do and I was worried that was it.

I remember on Brawl that the easiest way to do that was to play as Pit and just keep flying under the stage grabbing each end so they'd jump off the edge - does that not work as well anymore?

I've heard Kirby and Dedede are good at getting the cruel smash items too. i just used hammers on those because I've despised the Cruel Smashes in every game.

ROB is actually a big part of Nintendo's history. With the video game crash convincing most markets that gaming was just a fad that came and went, ROB was what Nintendo used as a Trojan horse of sorts. Tricking toy stores that the NES was taking a backseat to the ROB toy, only really used to operate it. It's basically how Nintendo went about reviving gaming in US markets.

• Ridley
• King K. Rool
• Ice Climbers

• ...Yeah I'm not really coming up with an easy 5th that doesn't bloat franchises (For example, like adding Mewtwo when I don't want any other Pokemon removed, especially Lucario).

I also feel like a lot more should have been unlockable... I went to play my first game and was shocked by how many characters were available. I found it fun to unlock things before, but now it just feels like a grind and for little reward.

In other Smash news, turns out the Gamecube controller adapter will work ONLY wish Smash.

Granted, that's why most people wanted it, but... To me this just seems like much more validation for my hatred of the controller and belief that Nintendo shouldn't have even bothered appeasing the people who won't move on from what I believe to be a poorly designed, outdated piece of junk.

I actually prefer the low unlockable count. I like just picking up a fighting game (especially one with zero valuable single player options like SSB4) and have both me and my friends be able to play with who we want from the get go.

In the best case scenario far more characters would've gotten alts (Fierce Deity as a proper alt, Fusion Suit Samus, Daisy as a proper alt, Dry Bowser, Cosmic Spirit, etc, etc) and had them be what's unlockable.

Also, goodness that's pathetic. Nintendo literally will do anything for a quick buck. People claim that DLC's the worst thing ever, but in reality Nintendo's been worse then holding back stuff for DLC for a long time.
