Besides Haro planning to start it like I mentioned prior, my friend Ais from SkewedStudios has been releasing some beta scripts for Hurri. They're not perfect since they're only roughdrafts in a way, but they should be miles better than the Hong Kong bootlegs at least.

I'm pretty brand new to Sentai, but I just dove into watching Goranger and I absolutely love it! Thanks Rampage for the Fan Subs!

It doesn't appear that there are any episodes (okay, maybe 1) of JAKQ out there, but I just saw someone selling JAKQ DVDs from Japan today and it got me wondering. Is the reason for lack of 70s/80s full series subs because of pure lack of the original footage? Or is it something else like lack of interest for a translator to do the series? Lack of translators in general?

Are the raw, unsubbed videos/footage readily available for anyone to take a random stab at translating? Some quick google searching for JAKQ is coming up really scarce for me.

There's actually no issue getting the raw footage for most Sentai series, thanks to Bunny Hat. Some shows are still missing though, like Dynaman for instance, while ZyuRanger was taken down due to an official USA release on DVD.


Sort of. The older shows have a handful of issues that make them harder to work on in general, though (lack of captions, lower video/audio quality, and outdated Japanese terminology to name a few).

The Tire Koukan fansub is doing Goggle V. Only 1 episode was subbed.

They can't give credit for the raws and don't have a translation checker?

That...isn't a great start...

Is GUIS officially dead?

I've been waiting on their Liveman DVD releases for what seems like forever. And it would be awesome if someone finally finished Bioman. They were so close!

Also I was just wondering...Rampage Subs releases their Sentai subs in Spanish or Portugese first and then it gets translated eventually into English? I was just wondering because it looks like Goranger has been released through episode 49 in Spanish/Portugese but is still under 40 episodes in English. Just curious how the release schedule goes.

Translating from Japanese > Portuguese > (and then for our us non-Portuguese speakers) English was the original way that it was done, but I'm told that it's now Japanese > English > Portuguese starting from episode 43(?) or so.

You're probably wondering why it takes so long with that in mind, well, it's the whole editing process. Rampage doesn't have any native English speakers, so after Shourikan TLC's an episode and sends it my way, I spend awhile touching up the English and improving the wording as best as I can. However, there are countless times where I have to ask Shourikan things like 'hey, can this become this?' and 'what about (insert change here)? do you like it?' and that's pretty much why it takes as long as it does.

We also work on Turbo and JAKQ, so there's that too. Hope that gives you a bit of insight on what's going on behind the scenes, ask away if you're wondering about anything else. ^^ But you're welcome, I'm happy that you 'n so many others get to enjoy these shows with us! c:

I'm trying to figure out what is going on with them to. I don't even know where I can go to get their non-DVD releases of Liveman.

I hear that Shir (their translator) has been very busy. However, Bunny Hat (their editor/timer/QC in one package person) has been going through some personal problems for awhile now which is a shame. The 31st of this month will have marked a full year since their last Bioman release... :[
