I finally finished the newest chapter in my Digimon Crusaders fanfic, it was fun and i actually feel like i acomplished something.

Seeing this makes me think that the people who say "The show would be better if Lauren was still working on it" are just wrong.

I kind of want to smack him across the face.
After the comics, it tells me that the series needs more adventure plots.

Also, his nitpicks are baseless. His argument that "Celestia had to will Nightmare's return because she's god" breaks the moment you ask "What if Celestia...Isn't a god?"

His arguments are all based on his own assumptions, not stated facts. We don't know what it meant by "The stars will aid in her (Nightmare's) escape."
That isn't a plot hole. We simply weren't told all the details. And that's the problem. His problem is that "Everything wasn't spelled out for us then and there."

Well...some of them were valid, like why didn't everyone see that they were the ones from the book? It was so obvious. Even Twilight was like "sister?" When she was the one who read the book.

Some of his videos are interesting, but he has the "Celestia an Luna are gods" viewpoint. Which they're not. Even people who work on the show have said that they're not, they're just very powerful ponies.

Yeah, Twilight not realizing Nightmare and Celestia were sisters was a dumb moment.
But it's not helped by Celestia's own disregard of her own legends regarding herself.

We even know that, before Celestia and Luna, the normal Unicorns could raise and lower the sun and moon (Thank you, Hearth's Warming Eve), so it's not something that was always exclusive to those two.

The extent of their power hasn't been explored, and calling them "Gods" is just an assumption based on nothing, unless Princess Platinum was also a god, since it's assumed she could use the spell to manipulate the sun and moon, too.

It's just that, at EQLA I had a conversation with a guy who was saying that the show would be better if Lauren was still there, and you and bronycurious have said that this is one of the weaker two parters...and these are the only episodes that Lauren herself wrote. So, I don't think it would be better. Different...possibly, but not necessarily better.

Agreed. I just hear A LOT of people say that, and from what we've seen of their powers...I just don't get that vibe from them at all.

The problem is that I view this as a weaker episode for different reasons.
I felt it tried to establish too much in the 44 allotted minutes. Much like (Quite literally every) pilot, it just didn't have enough time to say everything it wanted to, having to establish the mane 6 (Their personality, their element and character trait, and their quirks), the town, the villain, the legend, all while keeping a general tone of excitement.

Also, you have to recall of all the openers and closers, why Best Night Ever (The only non-adventure Season opener or closer) is considered to be the worst. It's not because the show doesn't do adventure plots well, it's because, in the case of the pilot vs. the others, it just didn't have the time to tell a proper story, where the Best Night Ever was just mundane compared to the others, despite keeping the show's "Slice of life" theming much better than, say, A Canterlot Wedding or Magical Mystery Cure.

Party of One and Best Night Ever are great episodes!

Okay, first off Party of One. Really enjoyed this one as it acted as a rather disturbing look into Pinkie's psyche. Seriously, Pinkie is creepy. Clearly the censors were asleep at the wheel on this one.

Best Night Ever. One, I really liked At the Gala (especially Rainbow Dash's part) and I find the irony in the episode title and the song itself hilarious. Fluttershy going berserk was especially hilarious. I think it looked something like this.

Yeah, that's it. :lol Now I'm a little confused. The Grand Galloping Gala is brought three times in the first season. It is implied in Ticket Master that they attended the gala after the episode ended, yet in Best Night Ever it's as it's there first time actually being there. Anyone care to explain?

Also one last thing. I find the fate of the dresses that Rarity made rather sad. :(

At the end of Ticket Master, I think they galloped off to do girl things, not go to the Gala. Although it was strongly applied, and I had thought that was what happened at first too.

Ah, okay that makes sense. Though the show does have a issue with time, so I guess I shouldn't expect much in terms of a naturally flowing time line.

Yeah, Best Night Ever is an awesome episode. I never got the impression that they went to the Gala after Ticket Master.

and yes, Party of One was creepy.
