Wave 5 isn't super exciting to me. I might get Time Force Red?

I like him. The thing about the Legacy Zeo line is that's when Bandai started getting cheap. They removed articulation and the lack of gold paint on the bands.

The discoloration between the torso and limbs is less apparent. Darker colors not surprising.

The blaster is pretty tiny. It's supposed to be a long barrel but this thing sorta is shortened. That's one advantage the Legacy blaster has over it.

If anyone was wondering. Unlike the MMPR blade holsters, the Zeo Pod from the Legacy line doesn't really fit. I think you could get it in there after applying a little heat but it's going to permanently warp that hole and could risk a tear.

The only big paint errors I've noticed so far with the batch I got is my SPD Red's neck isn't painted to the collar. I'll be redoing that plus giving him the silver collar.

Kiiiinda regretting not getting the SDCC Zeo Gold now... I was expecting and totally fine with dropping some accessories like the second staff or even having a different civilian head.

But he also looks to not have the gold painted and that's a huge let down. :( If it is (all I've seen is a pretty small screenshot and it's just one image, so it's of course hard to be sure), it's definitely not as vibrant. I dunno..

So.. yeah. Especially comparing it to Zeo Blue (thanks for that convenient timing Designingincase lol), the gold on this release of Zeo Gold just doesn't look great to me. Pretty let down.

Sucks that they're removing paint apps on Zeo Gold. Ranger Slayers looks pretty good at a first glance though so I'm happy about that.

TF Red is definitely the highlight of this wave for me.

Only one I might skip is Zeo Gold since I already have him.

They all look pretty great to me. I think Zeo Gold still looks fine. Very excited for Time Force Red and Ranger Slayer especially

I don't know why, but even though we have seen the same body several times, Blue MMPR looks particularly good. I doubt we will see this, but I hope he comes with a second Power Lances that is together.

Ranger Slayer is neat. I am not totally familiar with the comics, but I am aware of this character and she will look good with Drakkon. I am interested to see the head they went with as they nailed the Drakkon likeness.

Time Force Red looks good. I doubt he will have his vector weapon, but at least they did the chrono saber that hopefully comes apart. The question is, will they give all of the time force rangers the same sabers or change the mold to change the tip as it was in the show.

Zeo Gold... I already have the SDCC version so this may be the first figure I skip unless there is a compelling reason to buy it. MAYBE if they give him a Trey head or good Jason head.... maybe... but probably not. Or maybe a small Auric tikki and key...

Anyway, I am happy with this wave. The only reason I am cold on Zeo Gold is because I own him, otherwise I would be very happy to buy him.

I like what I see... but... WHERE ARE THE BLOODY MONSTERS?!?!
Seriously, this collection is getting boring with all these rangers and no monsters. I really hope we see some monsters on display at Toy Fair. I am sure there are people that would collect Power Ranger monster figures even if they don't collect the rangers just because they would look interesting.

His "gold' is exactly like any of the Dragon shield rangers released so far.
I was wondering if they didn't want to paint a flexible material in metallic gold because it would wrinkle badly.

Drakkon has a molded vibrant gold but his shield is thicker and doesn't flex much.

It's not the butterscotch debacle but a metallic gold is hard to beat.

Personally I'd rather them do more important villains like Ecliptor and more minions like Z-Putties before we start getting monsters of the week, but I see where you're coming from.

At this point I would take ANY monsters. So far, all we have for monsters who actually fought hand to hand with the rangers are Zedd (not a monster exactly, but close enough), Goldar, and a Putty. Rita was not a fighter. The Psycho Rangers are nice, but not really "monsters". Give me Rito, Ecliptor, heck even Elgar. King Mondo, Master Vile, so many great designs that are not being done, likely because they would require unique sculpts that can't be reused and we all know Hasbro loves them some reuse.

I wouldn't say that. There's not many uses they can get out of, say, the Blaze mold or Rita. It's really just because King Mondo wouldn't sell as well as any of the Zeo Rangers.

Honestly if we're doing villains the nost likely to cone out will be Astronema and Ecliptor. And probably even Ransik.

I don't totally agree with that. If done right, I think there are villains that would sell well enough to justify their cost. However, I suppose things aren't looking good for monsters when Goldar is actually marked down on the Game Stop website at the moment. I would think that if any monster would sell well, it would be Goldar. Of course, it could also be that a lot of people don't like buying from Game Stop I know my experiences haven't been that great.

That's why they should focus on monsters who were made from a mix-and-match of older costumes!

Use carefully selected monster and villain designs and then recycle those mold pieces and do the same in-show mix-and-match to make even more monster figures while minimizing production costs.

Wave 5's Zeo Gold will feature Trey of Triforias' head rather than Jason.

A bit to unpack here.

Gold Ranger - I've been arguing it would be Jason so Hasbro could be cheap. I raise my drink to Hasbro and everyone else thinking it would be Trey. I think everyone wins. The Jason Pack people have exclusive accessories. The Trey Gold Ranger has his own staff and of course head.

Dragon Dagger - Looks identical to Bandai's except they painted gold the lines at the base of the dagger. Also the buttons base is painted black. I have no idea what's accurate as in the show, his hand always covers the dagger. I wouldn't be surprised if a stunt prop vs the presentation version have these differences. For me the Legacy dagger is pretty great. I feel this is more if you never got the Legacy Dagger situation. I actually kind of wonder if it's Bandai's mold.

Blue Ranger - Oh boy. Let's start with the good. Comes with a long lance. That's great. I would want it to be a little longer but it's long enough.
The head sculpt. I like it. I think it looks like the actor especially in the early days of season 1. I think three things are happening.

1) Just like with everyone, the heads are wider. They seem stretched and it might be due to the ball peg needing to fit. This might also be why the ball pegs are smaller on the LC. While you can swap on Marvel legends, most don't include a second head. The LC its most of them. Then to fill out the features they add a little chubbiness.

2) Smiling is also doing it. Looking through the pics, these people don't smile with their teeth wide open which the artists may be over compensating for.

3) We are used to Billy when he dropped the glasses and his hair got lighter. MMPR movie Billy looks like S1 Billy's Stefan Urquelle.

Now that diamond. I have not idea what to make of it. We got two sets of pictures and I don't think either are renders. Diamond is correct in one set and skinny in the other. I don't even know if I could trust a picture of an actual figure at a trade show.

His own staff? Is there something different about it?

1. I need a Power Axe in my life.

2. I knew they were just gonna reuse the same male body for Billy they have been, but I would've loved it if they'd make him just slightly less muscular than all the other Rangers to reflect how Billy was(at first) the least experienced fighter of the team. I too with the Lance were longer.

3. Glad Zeo Gold is coming with the Trey head, but still sucks this one is missing paint apps. Sadly though this makes me think that when we finally get a default MMPR Black release it's gonna be Adam and not Zack. But then again Red was Jason again so who knows.

Oh wow, that Billy likeness is really good. Almost on par with Trini.

Makes it sadder that they sorta dropped the ball on Kimberly and Zack.

And I guess Zeo Gold now being Trey of Triforia means I'm getting him too lol

Lightning Collection Dragon Dagger. Nice for those who missed out on the Legacy version (Like me).

Huge mistake with that Dragon Dagger. It looks plasticy, ugly stock photo of green ranger standing there awkwardly on box art. And I hate packaging designs with a thin cardboard top sticking out from the rest of the box, because you know it’s going to be bent back and ruined at retail or in shipping or handling - unless it’s just a cover flap. Bandai’s Legacy version with die cast is unbeatable. How is this one any better? Is it meant to look like the original 90’s one and draw from nostalgia? It has to cost less than Legacy. $49.99? I’m not sure you could justify more than that for this. It seems like it should be a cheaper version for kids or casual fans who couldn’t get or didn't want to pay the cost of the Legacy Dagger, but I don’t know how many of those there are out there that the creation of this was justified. And why in the Lightning Collection then? I can only think dollars could have been better spent in some other way.

Legacy Dragon Daggers still gather dust at all my EB Games. No reason for this new one.

LC Gold and Billy, though? Instantly bought. Sucks that Gold is Trey, but I'll just bin the unmasked head and pretend it's Jason. :D

Time Force Red is... basically perfect. I didn't expect him to come with one of his guns too; and that Wes likeness is one of the best in the line so far. Difficult to see how it could be better within budget!

Seems too early to do another Dragon Dagger release. I’d rather see a more recent season weapon or Morpher lightning collection item. And where is the combining megazord?
