Wow, Tarantula Knight's overall design definitely looks more modern mecha than any other Sentai. I get big 30MM vibes from it, it's great.

He probably sees it as a battle where no matter who wins, the losers are exterminated. He'll join shortly after that changes.

Ah, yes I see what you mean with 30mm vibes. It also gives me IDW Transformers vibes a bit as well. Not a whole lot, but slightly. And the color scheme screams Omegamon to me because of how it's composed. I do wonder if they also incorporated whatever r&d data they got from the alter figures from DonBrothers.

Wonder when Gira faces Racules again, what if Gira was allowed by Jeremie to borrow his dagger (& pesticide gun) during the 2nd duel?

Just when Gira is about to be beaten again, Gira will unleash his trump card against his brother. It'll signify that both human & Bugnarak are one with him.

And would love to see Racules have himself locked up in an iron mask like Jeramie.

I think it would be more satisfying if Gira beats Racles using his own power, like maybe his determination to protect the kids allows him to synchronize with his mysterious Shugod connection and unlock his golden form, so he can prove himself the true king of Shugoddam.

This definitely works great for the toy, but I'd bet money it means the show version will be CGI.

Well I can picture the scenario like this:

• 2nd round: Gira and Racules duel again. Only this time, he has the combined power of Spider Kumonos at his side. Racules gets himself sealed in an iron mask like Jeramie?s locked up.
• Third round: Racules is somehow broken out of his prison and the brothers Duke it out again. Gira then obtains the power of the gold ranger.
• Final round: duel to the death

With modern Sentai, I doubt Gira actually kills Racules. If he dies, either the true big bad of the series takes him out as getting rid of competition, Worf effect as TVtropes would put it, or he pulls a heroic sacrifice for whatever reason

I doubt it. It just probably won't be as proportionally accurate, like every Sentai mecha suit ever.

Only last year, we had Sonoi killing Tarou, Tarou killing Sonoi and Sonoi killing Tarou again. I see no reason why Gira killing Racles couldn't happen.

Those were just temporary though, and it was Inoue. Pretty sure Toei let's him do whatever the hell he wants at this point

To be fair it's been confirmed that the temporary part was not planned, though the way Racles has been handled alongside the fact that Sentai doesn't really kill off rangers much to begin with suggests Racles would likely be redeemed if anything

Yeah no if there is no twist about "Racles not being Gira's brother" or something you can forget the idea of Gira killing Racles. I don't think "killing a family member" is on Toei's program, whatever the reason.

I agree it feels like the way he is written he'll be redeemed at some point and if he dies it will be some kind of sacrifice or something, nothing more.

I doubt Toei are totally against depictions of killing family, as there have been examples of heroic patricide as recent as Zenkaiger and Revice.

I'm inclined to believe that Racles' goal to conquer Terra is in service of some greater purpose and he's not entirely as he appears. However, I also don't think his redemption and Gira killing him are mutually exclusive, as he might offer his life to Gira in battle, as penance so he can reclaim his honor.

I could argue Revice is a bit of a special case because the center theme of the show is precisely family, but, my bad, that's actually quite fair.
Patricide especially could almost be in a different league haha (KR and Father is almost always ending badly)

But I still think something like Gira killing Racles is almost impossible so far considering what the show showed us (tone/atmosphere)

I wouldn't say silver he's more akin to a dull grey the only thing that gives off the idea of silver is his cape and the armor outer transparent part makes it seem shinny

waiting to see what happened to the Hasuti parents since that probably led to Gira's disappearance and Racules becoming a jerk king.

OoKuwagata-Ohger IS silver. It's even part of his name.

Well, I have eyes...? If he were officially silver, I'd expect his suit to be shinier, looking back at every single silver that came before him. As it stands, he's just a sort of dull grey.

Has Toei or Bandai referred to him as Silver anywhere, though? I'm legit curious, I'll begrudgingly take their word for it.

I'd agree that Ookuwagata Ohger definitely feels more grey than silver. His color palette much more matches with Kyoryu Grey than other silvers.

That said, it's not exactly a hill I'm going to die on. I'm not going to ardently fight for him to be classified as one color over another :lol

So far Jeremy interacted with Gira when he saved his life. When he interacted with Yanma, it didn't go well as Yanma used the Venomix Shooter as a prank on Racules, which ticked Jeremy off & offended of his mother's legacy.

Next episode, he interacts with Hymeno where he unveils the truth of his parents' murders and that he wasn't the one.

After that, its Rita where he'll see her face for the first time and explain her other eye if she's a hybrid like Jeremy too.

Lastly with Kaguragi where he'll learn of his sister Suzume and how possibly they can rescue her together from Racules.

You mean MODERN Sentai doesn't do it much- need I remind you every Dino Sentai has at least 1 dead member?

I don't remember Kyoryuger doing that but still, it isn't a common thing that this franchise does in it's 47 year history. I didn't see enough of Ryusoulger to know but like, how many rangers died between Timeranger and now?

But we are in our third year of non-standard Sentai, so I would just expect non-typical things.

Wouldn't the Spirit Rangers count? Also, Torin dies in the final stretch, too.

I don't think he'll turn on him. He might abandon him if he catches sight of a fight where Jeremy is giving a particularly brutal beatdown to some of the Bugnarak.
