Crossbone Gundam is getting a "big announcement" in next month's issue of Gundam Ace. Wondering if it might be a new series of some kind or an anime adaptation? But Sunrose kind of has their hands full currently, so I imagine of an anime were annoinced it would be at least a year off.

IBO Episode 25
This is it guys, and wow, what a great episode. Not as intense as the last episode, but damn we got some nice setup. Man, McGillis is not the nice guy I thought he was. Betraying his friends and exposing his dad just to reform Gjallerhorn, a now much weaker organization. Man, Ein just ended up being a pushover and not a real threat after Mika unlocks his new superpower and straight wrecks Graze Ein. And everyone we thought died is actually still alive. Although, Ein's constant monolouging was annoying. Mikazuki's new power of being able to control the Barbatos much faster comes at an interesting cost. The use of his left arm. And also his left eye being stuck in that dead stare Mika does. Ugh, he doesn't even need SEED mode to have a dead stare. And it's confirmed we have a second season of IBO coming! Makes a lot of the stuff left open in this episode feel more relieving to get developed on. Can't wait to see what McGillis does in season 2. The finale, to me, reminds me of the 00 finale, in the sense that none of the main characters died. But it's also kind of the opposite, as the individual blocks are strengthening their own militaries as compared to 000, where they just all combine. And the teasing is a lot more subtle in IBO. 00 straight up showed us the Innovades and Graham in a mask at the end of 25. |
Is there any chance G Gundam will get a blu-ray release here in the US or is there no HD release in Japan yet?

EDIT: Sweet, they finally arrived!!! http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...psyv2svrab.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...psclwzdb9g.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...pscwt8e4uc.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0xgjd5u9.jpg |
Daisuki put up a trailer announcing subs for Re:0096. Interestingly, this triler has English voices, making me wonder if we'll get the show on Blu-ray with an English dub. Also, there's new footage with the Neo Zeong and Khashatriya.

What did you guys think of Gundam IBO? I loved the hell out of it.

Since I haven't seen anything past volume 4, I figure I might as well just go for the TV version as this point as it is most likely going to be superior given it will have more breathing room as there will be like 4 more episodes worth of development. |

Watched the first two discs of Zeta today (1-16) and damn this show is so good. It is a little confusing at times as things like Kamille whining about how his parents weren't really parents to suddenly telling everyone else they are not allowed to talk about his parents makes no sense, but whatever. I have forgotten about how he does start out quite whiny. The Titans are just flat out assholes and think they have a right to do anything. That was so messed up when they kicked the crap out of Bright. The animation is also really nice looking, although there do tend to be some oddities in character models from time to time. The face of Kamille's dad looked really weird in some close up shots as if his face was crooked. Another thing this show improves upon is not having the introductory recap of what is going on in the universe every episode. God that gets so annoying when Gundam shows do that after the first two or three times.
Funny enough, the first time I watched it I thought the stuff that dealt with Amuro was boring but I'm really enjoying it this time around. The transforming mobile suits are freaking awesome and I love that they showed all of the Mobile Armors from the original series (even the ones not in the movies) when they were trying to figure out what armor Scirocco was piloting. My only complaint is how odd some things still are. Like Reccoa and Kai getting captured and imprisoned in Jaburo off-screen. I guess the writers just couldn't figure out any good way to do this, so why do it at all? Despite that, oh man that was such an awesome battle and the animation continues to impress. Well, I'm done for the night but I can not wait to continue tomorrow. |

Anyone want to split a set? Anyone? I need that NT1. |

Same goes for whenever I hear Mary Elizabeth McGlynn or Richard Epcar speak. I see Kusanagi and Batou, but I get over it. Anyway, http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...pseyetfgmg.jpg |

Yeah, I find more Japanese VAs sound alike to me than NA ones. Even in the same show I can sometimes mistake voices.

EDIT: Ech, double post but I'm on my iPad so I can't fix it. |
Just finished watching a happy dose of the next two discs (17-33) and god this show just keeps getting better and better, especially now that the Zeta has emerged onstage. Scirocco is pretty awesome and I love how his charisma allows him to corrupt even the most innocent souls. However, for as great as everything is, some aspects just don't make any lick of sense, especially with Shun and Qum. Who the hell are they? Where did they come from? Why would Char bring them into space? Why are they there? What purpose do they serve? Jack **** is said about these two as they just show up and someone says Char brought them with him. It would have made far more sense if they were the children to Blex or something, but nope, nada. This is hands down the worst part of the show as they feel out of place and forced. Ignoring that annoyance, everything else is great. I love how pretty much all of the characters, good or bad, are getting their own development, even the aholes like Katz and Jarid. The Psycho Gundam is freaking awesome and Haman Karn has now made her appearance. I can't wait to finish this series tomorrow!!

These kids though, feel forced in. Anyway, I decided to watch four more episodes tonight. Not sure what else I can say about the show I haven't already said, but damn they were so good. I think my favorite episode is the one where Char gives his speech to the world about the truth of the Titans. Also, of course it was great seeing the Psycho Gundam and Four is an interesting character despite how little she is in the show. In fact, the whole Kilimanjaro two parter is truly spectacular. |

I just found out Wilfred Kijima and Shinn Asuka have the same voice actor...
*internally squees* |
Shinn Asuka... probably the worst Gundam pilot ever. God I hate Asuka. He felt like they were trying to recreate Kamille (hell, they even kill his girlfriend off in the same manner with a Not Psycho Gundam) and was so annoying they decided to make him a secondary character and turned Kira into the main character again. Now that is pretty bad.

No, I have no issue with Kira in the first series. I'm not a fan of him, but I don't hate him the way I hate Shin. Shin is just a wannabe Kamille but without any likability to him.
Anyway, what can I say? I have completed Zeta Gundam and my god six years was too long of a wait to rewatch this show. I really need to watch it again later on this year at a slower pace, but I'll probably wait and do that after both volumes of ZZ are out. The last batch of episodes are down right fantastic, albeit not without their little hiccups. For example, the AEUG has joined forced with Axis, but then suddenly they are fighting against Axis in the next episode becaaaaaaaaaause, well, just because. No reason is given why Kamille suddenly wants Haman dead, he just does. Also, as awesome as the last two episodes are, way too many characters die in too short of a time span to the point where it feels like they were being killed just for the sake of it instead of because the story needed them to die. I love it and hate it at the same time. The Quebeley is hands down the best non-Gundam mech in the franchise and Haman Karn is easily the best female character. My god that lady is just insanely badass. The animation continues to impress, especially in the fast motion scenes at the end and the ending itself is so depressingly good. Oh, I kept forgetting to mention this, but the subtitles are kind of weird at times. I'm not sure why they keep saying "Corrected" for discipline, but it just seems like a really odd word choice. Also, do the Japanese have a different definition for what an autistic child is? Because Kamille is not even remotely autistic. I'm still unsure as to whether this or Wing is my favorite Gundam series, but it is definitely right there. Of course, I haven't watched Wing in 6 years either, so my opinion of it may not be as high anymore. With that said, the wait for the ZZ BD is going to be unbearable. I know its only 2-3 months away, but that can feel like a long time when you are highly anticipating it. |

Shinn had actual character. He was deeply, DEEPLY flawed, but watching him was actually rewarding, there was some investment to be made with the raging, vengeance-fueled Kamille stand-in. |

You're right on one aspect, Shinn did have something going for him until Kira took over. I do remember liking Shinn initially, but as the series moved on and Kira took over he became irrelevant and worthless to me. Of course, Destiny is just a mess of a show to begin with. Everything is just ripping off previous Gundam series, but for some reason they felt the need to throw in a clip show ever 5 episodes. Hell, episode 47 is a freaking clip show and the finale is episode 50. Maybe they should have actually spent that time actually make a legitimate episode then they wouldn't have had to redo the final episode as a 45 minute OVA. Add in that there was no mystery to who Not-Zechs was given that the voice actor (Takehito Koyasu, who also did Zechs in Wing) did Mu La Flaga in SEED, and you have one of the most predictable let downs ever. Everyone was acting like it was a big deal and I was just like, "This was obvious from the start."

So I got the new Nintendo App Miitomo, and I've been using the photo function and Gundam pictures to create some... interesting results.

My g/f and I watched the first 5 episodes to 00 and man, this show is already awesome. So far the sniper gundam (I think Dynamis) is my favorite of the show, but I think Allejulah is my favorite of the pilots, at least right now. It's pretty interesting thus and seems to be doing a nice job of building things up. However, I need to know, is this supposed to be a prequel series? They're using the AD timeline and they talked about how there will one day be space colonies built. Just curious if it is meant to be one or that was just an easter egg.
Oh, I'm watching it dubbed and its great. My only complaint is that Scott McNeil is to this show what Steve Blum is to Star Wars Rebels. |

This show is in its own timeline, so no, it's not a prequel to Universal Century or anything. Especially considering before Universal Century, they didn't have mobile suits. To me, what's interesting about the 00 universe is that there are a few space colonies, but they are just sort of there and are not really prevalent in the story. There's probably only a few because the space elevators just got built, and investment in space colonies hasn't taken off yet. You actually get to see a space colony in season 1, and the 00 movie has the construction of new colonies being started. I have only see 00 dubbed, lol. Never in Japanese. Still waiting on those Blu-rays... |
I always wanted to ask this. Can someone please explain what the various grades mean in terms of how hard the model is put together, what's involved, how detailed the models are, and the quality? Because I have absolutely no earthly idea other than the 1/144 scale GW sets usually suck.

As for the timeline thing, interesting, as there is a lot that can attribute to it being a prequel. First, the GN particles the Gundams emit seem like the precursor to the Minovsky Particles in the UC stuff. As for the mobile suits thing, I don't recall them ever saying they never existed before. Plus, how would they build space colonies without mobile suits? There is also the possibility that they stopped producing them when peace came to pass as everyone was focusing on space colonies. You're most likely right, but it seems like this could easily be placed in any of the time lines if they so choose. Kind of like how Tomino decided to put G-Turn A and Recon G all in the UC universe. |

HG - High Grade (1/144 scale), Most often your typical figuarts sized toy and fairly easily to build with out any experience needed prior. HG also contains no inner frame, like a skeleton of sorts. The inside the kits are most often hollow. On top of that some times HG kits has you using decals/stickers on the kit to provide the major paint details the actual mobile suit has in the show MG - Master Grade(1/100), a big step up above from HG kits, if you think your ready for a lengthy build then go for it. Master Grade kits are more gimmicky and adds tons of more feature, such as cock pit which opens and closes, weapons tend to have more functionality to it, a inner frame which the armor goes on top of, and stickers and decals are rarely used since the pieces when put together usually brings out the most details, also they might even add LED. Their height are a bit taller, but their size is what usually trumps the HG kits. PG - Perfect Grade(1/40), the grand daddy of all. The Perfect Grade is everything you wanted, as if you took the mobile suit from the show and place it on your shelf, PG does everything what a MG can but takes it and just goes 10x a step above, I believe most if not all PG contains LED lights all the time. PG While not super hard, due to the larger pieces, you have to have a lot of patience and time which makes these scaled kits time consuming. Their height and size trumps all. RG - Real Grade (1/144), another 1/144 scaled kit, it is essentially a PG kit that's been shrunken down to 1/144 scale, these kits can bit a time consuming due to the amount of small pieces that goes into them. There is also other grades sizes and scales, such as the mega size, SD(super deformed), and non grades. Right below I provided pics showing a more compact explanation of what I said above, also shows difficulty and other tid bits. http://www.gundamtoyshop.com/uploads...30708_orig.jpg http://animehobbycreator.com/wp-cont...high-grade.jpg http://animehobbycreator.com/wp-cont...ster-grade.jpg http://www.gundamtoyshop.com/uploads...76198_orig.jpg http://animehobbycreator.com/wp-cont...real-grade.jpg http://www.gundamtoyshop.com/uploads...79752_orig.jpg http://animehobbycreator.com/wp-cont...94595_orig.jpg |
And that is why I don't have the patience for model kits. Too many small pieces, stickers or having to rely on my terrible painting skills, and too many hours of attention require.
I had those Wing model kits TRU sold and after putting a bunch of them together I was like, "**** IT!! I'm buying the action figures!!" And that is what I did. |

It's shown in Gundam the Origin of how mobile suits came to be. In the Universal Century, before mobile suits, they had mobile workers to build the space colonies. http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/...20151111032652 These mobile workers were eventually developed and modified by Zeon to become the first mobile suits we see in Gundam The Origin and 0079. I don't see how something as revolutionary to combat as the mobile suit (see: The Battle of Loum or One Week battle, mobile suits wiped the floor with federation ships.) being forgotten about. Alos, there's something at the end of the 00 movie that defintley could not make it a prequel to any other shows. I won't spoil it, but I don't think this thing could be forgotten about/hidden away down the road. |
