Oh my god kain what the shit.
I'm an animator and I tell you what, computers don't make it any easier to make good animations, the fact you even said that is just straight up insulting. Also costs rise all the time, have you never heard of inflation? Everywhere things are getting more expensive, do you not realise this, I mean look at all the toys we buy, they're certainly not getting cheaper. |

A computer can't do that because the person is not physically touching anything with his/her own hand. I didn't mean it as an insult to animators, hell my friend does animation with his Silver Quill MLP reviews on Youtube. I just mean that the animation doesn't feel the same when it is done by computer because it is soulless. Just look at the differences between Sailor Moon and Crystal. |
Quote:
and no offense to Silver Quill, but the stuff he does barely counts as animation considering the images just slide around and aren't really all that animated. "computers can't bring a touch of realism a human can" you know a human is making it regardless, right? there's no "make the anime" button that the computer does for them. |
26 episodes these days for a show is not a bad since you can still a great story with that many episodes. Our economy is still recovering from financial crisis of 2007–08, so we can't pull off the money for more episodes then we used too. Besides I hate anime when they go on forever because I feel like that they lose quality fast. Like with Naruto, Pokemon, Bleach, Inuyasha and even DBZ.

I saw on twitter what Kain had said, and all I can say is wow.
|
Oh my god do you even understand how art works? Computers are merely a tool for the artist to use just like pencils and paints, doesn't change the soul and hard work put into it.
Like go and watch the new Peanuts movie trailer, there is so much character and love put into the aesthetic and animation and movement that you simply can't say it has no soul. |

like, you cannot convince me there isn't emotion in modern stuff like Summer Wars, Wolf Children, or hell, look at the stuff they're doing with new anime like Ore Monogatari! that anime has done a fantastic job at eliciting emotional responses out of people!
no soul in it my ass! |
Sorry, but I just don't see soul in the work itself. Comparing hand drawn animation to computer animation to me is like comparing a Van Gogh painting to something on Devian Art.
Nevertheless, we are getting way off-topic from anime itself, so I'm going to stop. |

Of course the films are gonna flow well, they're barely unchanged versions of the series with some of the minor details taken out. As for being better as a film series I completely disagree. The first two films are just a shameless cash grab (which admittedly brought the show to a wider audience, but at least some recap films try to show a hint more originality) while the third is great until that slap in the face of an ending.

I would normally stay out of this particular discussion because of what I know about storytelling, I don't know about art. But that statement...Wow. I'm not an artist, but that was insulting. DA is a platform to get one's art out to the masses without printing and displaying in galleries and hoping someone notices. Many incredibly talented artists use it and get the fame they deserve from it. Also, Van Gogh's work sold more because of the name attached than the quality itself because name recognition matters. Anyway, off I go, since I don't anime often and this is over now. On topic: Wow, Karas is pretty as fuck. What the hell is going on in the story, I'll never know. |

KOk what the hell was up with that ending. I mean I loved every thing in pulle Mage madoka magica rebellion but what the hell was up with that ending spoiler if you have not seen stop reading now.
HOMURA becoming a demon why on hell is sorry but the end was bad I see why some found bad but man who the hell. Over all it was a good movie but the ending is just F'ed up. |
So, that Nanoha Vivid first half.
It was a complete mess. Too much time spent on nostalgic fanservice during the first half, leading to a rather flat new cast and a really rushed start to the tournament arc. Granted, from what I've seen the manga rolls that way, and they kind of a went for a fast adaptation, but it's still a dissapointment. But I loved it, stupid fanboyism. |

So... The new Angel Beats special...
Was just random nonsense and had nothing to do with the story at all... I didn't hate it - had some funny moments - but just didn't care too much for it. |
Rewatching Outlaw Star. Man this takes me way back.

Gurren Lagaan 1-3

Not surprised to see the monster girls manga is getting an anime, I liked the manga quite a bit so I'll probably end up giving this a watch once it completes a season. |
The manga is really good. Very ecchi though. Like, really really ecchi.
And the story isn't the greatest but there's something about it that just makes it so good and entertaining. |
That looks too ecchi for my taste. I like ecchi stuff when it's done right. That's why anime such as Highschool of the Dead and Eiken turns me off.

"Something" ;) I would say how I don't get why this thing is so popular, it's just a boring harem softporn story with monstergirls that uses its lame comedic attempts to get the bland protagonist into even more kinky situations and introduces a new girl every two chapters or so. But this is exactly why it's so popular. @Topic: Nothing at the moment, I plan to rewatch Fullmetal Alchemist soon though, it's been two years since I completed it and I want to watch it again. |
Oh, when I say its ecchi, I mean it is ecchi. Like, I'm not denying it's in your face a bit. But I just can't put my finger on it. I guess I just like the designs and what they do with this weird world if monster girls...

Over the months, I've grown bored of Monster Musume. So I don't think I'll be watching the anime. Even though I still love Centorea. :lol

So far I've watched and finished (in order):
Fruits of Grisaia Labyrinth of Grisaia Outlaw Star Eden of Grisaia I really loved the Grisaia series and loved the characters too. Outlaw Star was a great nostalgia trip and loved the show overall. Right now I'm watching Noragami and I'm planning on watching DanMachi after I finish it. |
As I mentioned on TFW2005, I just finished Kill la Kill after watching the last 4 episodes on YouTube. It's one of my new favorite anime.
EDIT: Watched the bonus epilogue OVA episode. Now officially 100% finished with Kill la Kill! |
I'm crying right now. I am having an angel beats moment. Plastic memories is just was so good but the ending made me so emotional at the end I just dunno what say I knew it was coming but it still hit me so hard.
