Well Shout Factory has been putting out the Ranger sets so my line of thinking is that Entertainment One wants to catch up to Zen then if post MMPR is strong enough then release 1975 - Turbo Ranger. Each time a Post MMPR I set takes off they tend to want to bring over the next one so we would likely get Magi and Bouken out of the gate. That's why Shout picked up Deka now. The shows we got are over 20 years old.

In 27 months it actually will be the real 2025. I'm curious to see what things will be like in reality during Power Rangers Space Patrol Delta. Space Patrol Delta was made 22 years ago in 2005. Call this one curiosity I guess.
Back To The Future 2 said the Cubs had won the World Series. |
You mean 25 months? A bit early to think about 2025 though, let's try and survive 2023 and 24 first

I watched Sumpsorama as part of my Futurama run.

I watched Disney's The Little Mermaid Live (2019) this morning. It was an interesting attempt. I wonder if other movies will be done that way soon as the films were already made.
5 Man and Jet Man Both are on DVD from Shout Factory so they could use the DVD sets for reference and scene match when they re film. As for 1975 to Turbo Ranger they can do the same thing if those shows are out on DVD or VHS. Any series pre Five Man would be a problem if the episodes aren't released in any form. Rider shows are less of problem due to DVD and Blu Ray sets out. It would come down to license to use the filmed footage on disk |
Disney has been doing stage adaptations of their big musicals for decades now. Heck, most of the live theater scene seems to just be stage adaptations of Hollywood movies. If you really want your mind blown, the lead actor of Kamen Rider Drive starred in a stage adaptation of 17 Again. Why did they adapt that for the stage? Why did they do it in Japan?! It’s crazy.
I have personally been to a couple theatrical performances of Disney Musicals, and it’s a lot of fun. Plenty of material for Disney to pull from there if they ever need to pop a rating on ABC or something. |
I went to Back to the Future: The Musical the other night. Was actually really fun, some great live visual effects and the right kind of chaotic-but-heartfelt energy for that kind of show. Plus, legitimately good songs too? Helped by working in the classic BttF rif which has been stuck in there for days now.

And congratulations for another year! |
Saving my DVD players for Galaxy Man - Deka from Shout Factory. Late 2023 we might get Magi assuming they decide to drop Turbo Ranger (Series 13) on us over the summer. If we're back to 4 month drops again. We just got Aba in October and February is Deka. I wonder if we get 2 post Zyu and then a pre next in June or July.
Like Time Ranger Turbo Ranger will include the team up as it's episode 01. The series proper starts with Episode 02. |

At any rate I've been reading up on what Netflix plans to do with Power Rangers - Rebuild from scratch from the ground up with no connection to Toei at all. No footage either. I had suspected that to be the case. Everything I read is saying that they want Power Rangers to be fully USA original and not dependant on anything or any one. Not sure what form this new Power Rangers Universe Relaunch will take just yet. All I know is Netflix wants to go all in.

A thundercats animated film would be interesting.

Pre Zyu (MMPR I) Shout Factory buy In
5 Man January Jet Man February Deka had come up or I would have grabbed Five Man this month. That pushed the Pre Zyu an extra month over. I can use January to finish up Aba before Shout Factory ships Deka. |
Big question is, Hasbro will use scale models and megazord suits ?
|
Finishing up the MCU Phase 4 movies. Shang Chi is the last one. Started Eternals. No Way Home on DVD. Finished Black Widow (Phase 4)
X 10 Dark Phoenix came in. I'm watching X2 X Men United soon. Logan will be in today's mail. |

A big factor for my decision is a sort-of ephiphany I had. Basically, I was hesitant to pay for anime streaming services because a lot of anime are spread out over multiple streaming services so I felt like I would be missing out on what I might want to watch so I might as well just pirate them. Today I had an ephiphany: why should I care about what I'm 'missing out' on? Crunchryoll's gigantic and ever expanding library (especially now that Funimation has merged with Crunchryoll) means that I'll never be able to finish it anyways. Why should I care about the anime on Netflix? Or Hulu? Or whatever? Why should I pay for servcies just to get 4 or 5 shows I might want to watch when there are plenty of decent anime I haven't discovered yet on Crunchyroll? So I've decided to pay for Crunchyroll and HiDive next year (because HiDive has a bunch of exclusive anime I actually want to watch rather than just a meager handful in other services). Choosing what platform to watch on restricts my viewing options, and while that sounds like a bad thing, I feel like it's a blessing in this era of entertainment oversaturation. I feel like I'm ranting here but i just wanted to get this off my chest. And also to encourage people who might be reading this to take control of your entertainment options instead of the other way around. Remember, entertainment should ease your stresses, not add to them. |
I'm on Aba 24 so January will be enough time to finish the back half of Aba. There shouldn't be too much delay before Deka ships in. A month for 26 episodes is about right.
However I still have the back half of Time Ranger and Hurri so I'll watch a few on both counts. Anime I'm watching Pocket Monsters an Sailor Moon right now on DVD. In a few days I will need to order Black And White 1 (Series 14). I recently picked up Rival Destinies (Series 15) Ranger Watch Having gotten Aba off Shout (the only one previously unable to watch) as soon as I finish up the Power Rangers adaptions I might watch Ultra and Rider shows next. I need to finish Saban Era I , Hurri , Aba and Nin. Kyo Ryu will be completed. Wild Force is MMPR Productions. So Growl is part of Saban Era I. Movies I just read that HBO Max is dropping a nard load of movies. They no longer have Fantastic Beasts 1 and 2 or John Wick Trilogy. Also no longer have The first 3 Jurassic movies. The DC AU is also being removed. I already picked up some of the effected movies on DVD. This is idiotic considering that WB made a bunch of them. |
One of the most satisfying things I did this year was cancel netflix and angrily fill out their survey and call them liars. They sent me some kind of deranged e-mail ?congratulations, we are going to charge you more? and I got mad. Then they kept sending me e-mails begging for me to come back, so I blocked them! Then their stock tanked and I laughed like the conqueror I am!
That being said, I kind of came back to netflix after ten months without it, and just bumped down my plan from 4k to 1080p. I?ve been having a great time watching all the Japanese shows on that platform. Oh and Knives Out 2. I guess my thought is ?absence makes the heart grow fonder?? I think you have the right idea evaluating which streaming services you need and cutting off the others. Crunchyroll is definitely very good for anime. Their subtitle options are so much nicer than, say, Hulu, which sometimes has the same anime on its service. Since SpyxFamily is wrapping up, I?ll probably end up cancelling my crunchyroll sub though. I was mainly keeping it for Chainsaw Man and SpyxFamily |
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Winter Solstice, Merry Chrispratt, and anything else I might have missed

Happy holidaze everyone

It has to be said.
:rock:HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! |
I think somebody here posted about a Japanese Christmas movie like a month back...anybody know what I'm talking about?
|
2023 could be interesting.
MCU Phase 4 is done after Panther 2. Other movies I may be able to catch up the main line ones released. The sticking point will be Paramount + for Star Trek series (Discovery , Strange New Worlds and the final 10 episodes of Picard.) As for Netflix I'm waiting for Cobra Kai in 2024. Sony has a new Karate Kid movie out in 2023. I'd seriously hate to have to have a dead account for a year and a half. |
