Several times the Doctor has expressed interest in being ginger or upset that his new form isn't ginger. If the Doctor could control what his new form looked like he would be ginger instead of other colors. |

We're getting close. I understand there have been one, maybe two, small tweaks to the titles for this episode (that are apparently ticking people off left and right). I am both excited and nervous. The last episode was fairly restrained so I'm hoping we don't get two episodes worth of bombastic nonsense and handwaving/reset solutions crammed into sixty minutes. There is that awful falling effect to contend with as well. Still, brave heart and all that! :D
Oh, apparently there is something post credits, if you haven't heard. It's probably just a trailer for Christmas, but it should be worth sticking around for. Edit: Quick post episode thoughts, I need to digest this one for a bit. Clara's credits, I was amused. She is not gone. Neither is Missy. I still don't like Danny Pink, but all of the actors excelled with the material they were given. I really do wish the Doctor would return to using his intellect to create solutions and stop letting love defeat every problem. The Brig's cyber-conversion will be a hot button issue, but I'm glad Kate survived. Poor Osgood, RIP. |
Didn't like it very much at all :( the "twist" was insanely obvious from the start, the Cybermen have just devolved further and further into bad ripoffs of other similar things and Osgood continues to infuriate me in ways unimaginable (but she's dead now! Woo!). Everything was so speedily cobbled together at the end it didn't really properly handle any aspect of it at all.
Gomez was absolutely superb though. I'm not a particular fan of the new series "Oh Doctor please just notice me!" Master but I can't fault her performance at all.And she killed Osgood, making her even better. Bleh. |
So, Zeo, what are your thoughts on Missy? Dead or Teleported?
I think the latter, but it does kind of render the Brig's last act pointless. |
Probably teleported, but it bugged me how everyone just instantly shrugged it off and moved on the next thing. And how that kept happening until the episode ended.
I really don't know how I feel about the Brig thing. On the one hand it was a really cool moment but on the other hand I was still processing the whole "wait, so every dead body buried on Earth is now gone?" thing. Plus the fact only he and Danny were the only ones to overcome the orders didn't strike me as very good writing. |
Yeah, I was sort of distressed with how quickly most deaths were brushed off. I wasn't a huge fan of "She born of the Tumblr Crowd" Osgood, but I liked Kate and at the point I thought she was still dead it was distressing at how it was just ignored. While we didn't get the giant reset button I expected, I think there was some pretty deliberate manipulation of emotions without thought to its effect on storytelling.
