Have you not seen Build Fighters or Build Fighter Try? There's a particular family in those shows that only uses Gyan based models for their suits in Gunpla Battle. This is the latest in that series of kits, the Gyancelot.

What Yellow Ranger was saying is that since it's the first HG kit revealed for the new Build Fighters OVA, would it be the lead characters suit, and therefore the first mono-eyed suit headlining a series. To burst the bubble, no it isn't. There's a silhouette teaser floating around of a trio of suits that looks just like the Try Fighters with some new models. 2 humanoid & 1 SD, so the Gyancelot is likely Gyanko's new kit or her brothers even.

Well now I'm curious if it's a single-three episode OVA like Gunpla Builders or a mini series like 0083.

So question, I just recently learned that the SEED HD remasters got rid of the clip shows and the stock footage, cutting the show down to 48 episodes. Did they do the same with the remaster of Destiny?

Watch Zeta First. It establishes plotlines that are essential to understanding ZZ. While there's very little overlap between the main characters of both shows, one of the endgame subplots in Zeta is the plot of this show, so I say you need to watch it before ZZ.

While the show doesn't have the gravity of the main Gundam series (save for G), it has fun and does its own tournament style thing. There's still MS fights, and they are really cool, and they have matchups you will never see in any Gundam show proper due to suits being from different continuities ( Example: A modified version of the Strike fighting a modified version of the Char Zaku II). The only time it really gets really toyetic is when the characters talk about the specifics of building Gundam models, and the gimmicks some of the suits and teams have.

I get that, but I'm over the tournament gameplay anime genre.

Another thing Guyver, you need to look at Zeta and ZZ really as one long 97 episode series.

Well I finished the last disc to ZZ tonight and now I'm depressed since it is going to be a month before I can finish it. God I love this show. The episodes on the third disc are all fantastic from a nice three parter that has Judau meeting Haman for the first time to a really goofy, yet tragic, set of episodes afterwards and then the last episode is when the start of the hell breaking loose begins. Oh man these are so enjoyable. I also love how Haman tries to seduce Judau to get him to join her side because she realizes how powerful his Newtype abilities are while he is scared shitless of her. Great stuff, just down right great stuff.

EDIT 2: You know what I would love to see? A Gundam OVA series on the Battle of Odessa. Have like each episode star a different character from a different point of view on it. One episode could be on a regular Feddie grunt. The next could be on a Zeon commander. After that they could do one on a civilian living where the battle takes place. And so on. That just seems like the Battle of Odessa was such an important battle for the Federation that this would have been an obvious choice for Surnise to put more focus on in a side story.

So I watched the first Origin episode and it wasn't bad, but they seemed to have altered a bit of the continuity. Nevertheless, they did a nice job of creating the characters to look like something Tomino would do and it was nice to hear the old Zabi theme music playing. I don't feel this prequel was entirely necessary (although, it is only the first episode), but it was harmless. I'm looking forward to checking out the next episode though.

I never knew that Sunrise specifically looked for people who didn't know Gundam all that well. I think they created a fantastic show as a result. As a result, I'm now more open to new people coming in to already existing franchises.

Holy shit I can't believe that Sayla shower scene spawned Hentai as we know it. And that MSG overall kind of created otaku culture.

Well the beginning of the episode has them fighting at the Battle of Solomon and the three Rick Dom dudes from the Battle of Odessa are alive and they kill General Revill. That doesn't make sense because:

1. General Revill died with Degwin when Gihren used the space beam cannon on their armadas.

2. The Rick Dom pilots died at the Battle of Odessa, which was well before the event in #1.


Also, Char was using the Gelgoog during the time when Dozzle was fighting at Solomon, but the battle at the beginning there has him in a Zaku.

That fight is not actually the Battle of Solomon. It's from a battle early in one the One Year War. It's the battle of Loum, where Zeon's Mobile suits completely domininate the federation and Char and the Tri-stars have risen to prominence. So it doesn't create an continuity errors there since all of this is way before all that.

With General Revill, Zeon only captures him for a bit. At least in the manga, I don't know about the anime, but that would be one hell of a continuity error if he died.

It shows him on the ship and then the Tri-Star dudes (I think that was just their dub name though) say, "That is Revill's ship" and blow it up.

Well, he got away in the manga. Maybe they'll show it in episode 4.

Also, good news! Episode 4 of the Origin will still be coming out this fall, and is focusing on the the end of Char's origin. The Zaku I stuff, finally circling back to the intial MS fight in episode 1, seeing the Rx-78 being developed. But there's going to be a Battle of Loum arc starting with episode 5.

I watched the second Origin episode tonight and it was a vast improvement over the first one except for one major plot hole, they messed up the ages of Char and Sayla. Sayla was 10 even though it takes place in 0071, which would make Char 14, when that is not possible. Char should only be 11 at that point and Sayla is 8. That is a major screw up, but then, there were a lot of errors in the subtitles, so maybe Sunrise's translators translated it incorrectly. That aside, this was really good. It was paced a lot better than the first episode and I loved all of the bits that featured Ramba Ral. Still wondering how Ramba is going to end up being loyal to Kycilia though. Anyway, the scene with the prototype Zakus was probably my favorite part.

On the other hand, I don't like that there is an actual Char Aznable. That just felt kind of forced and I already know where this road is going to lead to, so that kind of takes away from the fun. Regardless, I do look forward to the next episode.

When you first think about it, it's a really dumb plot convience. Oh, this Char guy just so happens to almost exactly look like Casval save for the eye color. But after thinking about it, I think it was nesscessary to explain Char's rise in the Zeon ranks. With all the different background checks that the Zeon military academy and the Zeon forces had to do to let him in, making up an indentity just wouldn't work as well.

Plus, it is also this really cool explanation as to why Char wears sunglasses suspiciously often. I think it was during the Garma arc in 0079 someone asked Char about his sunglasses and he says something to the extent of "It's a spacenoid thing." The hiding of his eye color explains that one line in a really cool way.

Oh, another screw up is Amuro has a store bought Haro with him, but it was established right in the first episode of Gundam that he created Haro.

Powerman, your viewpoint does make sense and I did think about it, but it is still kind of just convenient and something that has been done to death a million times. We'll see how the show goes with that though. Hopefully they can find some interesting and new way to pull off the switcheroo.

I'm not sure, honestly. We know that they are going to continue the backstory with the Loum arc (potentially ending with the setup for MSG episode 1), but remaking 0079, I don't know.

I think there's been an increase in demand for an MSG remake, at least amongst American fans on sites like reddit. With the 40th anniversary coming up, I think a lot of people see the perfect opprotunity. Plus, I think what holds 0079 back from being a lot more popular in the anime community in the west is the age of the animation, even with the movie version. So it's both those factors why people WANT it but I'm not sure if Bandai will do it.

...Technically Seed was a 0079 remake.

And well Crossbone never got animated despite both fanbases begging for it for over a decade.

I get that SEED is like really really close to 0079 in certain ways, but it's not the exact same. Plus, U.C. is far better than C.E., at least just counting only animated stuff, so I think it would be better if Sunrise straight up remade 0079 with all of that world's artstyle/quirks.

Regarding the Crossbone adaptation thing at this point, I think it's less about Crossbone not being adapted and more being about Crossbone being a flagship for Gundam manga overall. To Sunrise/Bandai, I think they probably view it as its own thing that they wouldn't want to make official, not out of disrespect to the quality of the material, but to let it stand on its own. But I could be completely wrong about all of this. Bandai could have a multiseason Crossbone show waiting in the wings and is waiting on the manga to finally finish.

I would hope Crossbone is in the works. Of the various UC related manga that exist, that franchise is the best. It's a pipe dream for many of us, but maybe one day. I personally don't want a 0079 remake. I like the original series just as it is.

I don't think the Blue Destiny story is that long, so maybe an OVA or two by the team behind Thunderbolt would be cool.
