I'd advise against watching Aldnoah.Zero, personally. Unless you like emotionless protagonists with no flaws, who are literally the only people in the entire show who are competent, and that as a result solve every single thing by themselves, every time.

It's kind of a terrible show.

Since it's from the writer from Kamen Rider Gaim, I thought it could be good. I saw the first episode a while back and it was not too bad.

Only the first three episodes were written by Urobuchi.

If you want to watch Aldnoah Zero, go for it. Experience it on your own. Don't listen to naysayers and just go for it!

Yeah, like ElConvoy said, Urobuchi was only involved with the planning stages and only wrote the first three episodes. He actually left after that to work on Gaim. Urobuchi himself wasn't even involved in coming up with the main character, who drives pretty much the entire plot of the show for the first half. He is not a good character.

The secondary protagonist, on the other hand, is basically a crappily written version of Mitsuzane from Gaim (Urobuchi's influence, I assume. I guess he wanted to do a villain arc around that time) but while he's one of the better parts of the show, he's not really enough to redeem such a flawed series.

If you want to watch a mecha show written by Urobuchi, I do think you'd be better served going with Gargantia.

I had no idea that he only wrote the first three episodes. I give it a try later. My friend of mine really wants me to watch Genkishi since it's his #1 favorite anime. I only seen a few episodes of it and it was pretty good.

Anyway, I've been watching Selector Infect WIXOSS lately. It's so fucked up. It's so good.

Especially since I watched Fantasista Doll not too long ago, and that was awful. WIXOSS is basically the Madoka to Fantasista's Precure* or something. It's beautiful.

Started Baka and Test season 2 and episode 2 made me laugh hard. I have high hopes for this season now since I loved the first season.

Dragon Ball Super and Overlord. Stocking up on DBS episodes so I could have a marathon but cant wait for Overlord so I just watch them as soon as they come out.

All of Tokyo Ghoul English dubbed has been finished! I highly recommend people watch it. Next is Serial Experiments Lain.

Tokyo Ghoul...first season was pretty good imo, second season is garbage of the highest order. Just read the manga, everyone in existence.


Anyway, I started watching Gargantia a couple of days ago. I don't particularly like the art direction, the music doesn't do anything for me at all, and the casting choices are pretty boring (don't like Amy's voice at all) and since I'm only 3 episodes in and nothing much has happened, this means my opinion on it so far is pretty lukewarm. Hopefully as things start happening that changes.

That's a really good movie. The animation and art were definitely a strong point. Nice story too.

agreed. i just wished i got glimps of an adult yuki. Ame was intresting i like how they were younger they wanted by the looks of things be the other yuk was more like wolf and wanted to be wolf when she was younger and ame wanted to be more like human later on they swaped yuki in way become some what like her farther.

so I finally started Fate.
gonna go through Unlimited Blade Works first (I don't care about the first one, I want to watch the ideal one) and I was shocked to see a lot of the episodes are LOOOOONG.

Yeahsome of the episodes are long probably because visual novel details and stuff, I was shocked when I first found about it initially because I was expecting normal episode lengths but you get used to it.

Be warned when you get to Fate Zero as the first episode is a boat and half load of exposition.

They aren't. The only long episodes are the first one, the finale to the first season and the premiere of the second season. Other than that, all of the episodes are 24 minutes.

Why wouldn't you want to watch the first one? Considering UBW 2014-2015 is from the same animation studio as Fate Zero, and is just as good if not better, I mean on top of that there is quite a bit of dialogue and flash backs that references to Fate Zero.

You forgot about Episode 00 which is just as long.

I think by the first one he means the 2006 Stay Night, not Zero.

there also the UBW film so when he was talking bout first one i have strong feeling he was talking about the movie of the same name.

because UBW is apparently what was originally intended and episode 0 cleared up SO MANY THINGS that the first episode of the original anime left blank. like, the fact that they use mana.

and I will watch Zero, but apparently Zero spoils a whole bunch of stuff in Stay/Night so I will watch it after UBW.

UBW is actually the alternate telling. The "true" route in the game was the Fate route, which was adapted into the 2006 Stay Night. Supposedly poorly and yeah it's just not that great regardless, but IMO still should be watched at some point to see what really happened/could have happened (depending on your point of view).

And UBW is going to spoil a bunch of Zero stuff or some things not make sense without the context it provides, so...

Also it is best to watch Zero first, cause like my last post it references back to Zero to much, because Ufotable literally made it a sequel to Fate Zero.

from what I've heard, Zero spoils the main story, and if there's references to Zero, I wouldn't mind those being spoiled as opposed to both mainline shows getting spoiled.

Uh... that's the first episode of the second season.

UBW is just one of the 3 possible routes, meant to be the second part of the story.

Well, they both spoil stuff for each other, but Stay Night was the original release and Zero is the prequel, so that's arguably the official order.

UBW being an anime is still odd, it never was meant to be a standalone thing, so now we have this odd monster that is not the proper Stay Nigh story but it's not a Zero sequel either.


I think the official statement was that they tackled them as independent projects, neither should be seen as prequel or sequel.
