Didn't the cast kind of just spout mutual admiration for Ryuki?

Emu and Brave's actors said they liked Ryuki and Knight the most. Snipe's said he liked Necrom, don't remember what else was there, but it's insignificant as an actor's preference means nothing. See Neil Patrick Harris in How I Met Your Mother as he isn't gay in that :p

So I rewatched the whole episode with TV-Nihon's subs and A. still a pretty good premiere! B. They didn't make the same mistakes Excite did (Emu's narration at the start, Souta asking if he's really sick) but man they've still got the same nasty habits as always.

For example, they see a dramatic pause in a line, translate the whole sentence as though the pause wasn't there and then awkwardly shove the pause back in their translated line even if it now lacks all of the punch of the original Japanese.

颯太の運命は　俺が変える! - sounds cool!

I will change... ...Souta's fate! - sounds really dumb because it's backwards now. Excite tried to deal with this by inserting a "with my own hands!" which I wouldn't call ideal either but you can see they were trying.

Given Excite apparently plans to go a bit slower with their releases from here on out I'm inclined to believe their mistakes will go away but TV-Nihon has had the same blunt-force approach to translation for well over a decade now and it doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. I don't hate TV-N the way a lot of people do and they've gotten way better over the years but their style really kills the emotion a lot of the time.

That's all just my unprofessional opinion, of course.

Just a random thought: One thing I noticed when I rewatched the episode is that when the Kamen Rider select screen comes up, there are only two question mark selects, despite there being three in both the commercial and Ganbarizing (I think).

EDIT: Also noticed that there are also greyed out versions of Ex-aid, Brave, and Snipe's portraits in the select screen, but nothing for Lazer, or any for Genmu (maybe the greyed out versions are Bugstar versions of the riders?), though it's probably nothing.

Yep. I was kind of busy reading the dialog subtitles that I didn't even notice the text on him in the corner. Dialog is far mor important than signage or what I thought was just the credits.

You're right. My mistake was bothering to get involved in the conversation of this episode instead of just doing my review.
