No, he REALLY isn't. Certainly not as strong as some of the people coming down on him.


Apparently it is, to some people, if you dare have a criticism or negative opinion.

But the thing is, the only critique people seem to give is "it's different" or "it's generic". If that is the only complaint you guys can come up with...

And I still don't get the complaints with the movie version of the ninjazords. Especially looking at that...when did we get that figure? Other than being overly shiny, which I blame on CGI being, not new, but the new big shiny thing to use, it just looks like a slimmed down version of the show suit, which makes sense for, you know, a ninja.

I'm sure "It's ugly" has reared it's head more than once...

Also, do you need more? Why does someone need an essay to dislike something? People feel it looks poorly designed, others agree that it looks poorly designed. That's all someone needs.

The movie version of the Ninja Megazord gets hated on because it looks horrible. The CG aged very poorly, they cut corners by simply stretching models in some areas (The frog in their combined mode is the most apparent), the head change into a giant, clear cockpit was a bad design call that made it's head look too long and thin, and the overly shiny textures made it look too much like chromed plastic, rather than the machine like feel they were aiming for.

It's all subjective, but it's what most people agree on, anyway...

I mean, if people are going to so passionately hate something, something beyond "ugly/generic/different" would be appreciated. Like I said, I like the design, I like the knight-like motif it has going for it and that it looks like an extension of the rangers themselves. I do wish there were a bit more of the individual zords visible or represented color-wise, but this being the kind of toy it is and going off of the differences between it and the actual combining toy we've seen it is very likely the final version we see on screen may have those elements to it.

And other than the bit about the face and stretching the models a bit (it still looks proportionally fine to me), that basically seems like the only issue people have with the movie ninjazord is...well, the cgi, like I said, which isn't really a problem with the design itself, but the execution and that mostly is due to the time.

Oh sorry, I didn't mean to imply Split Lip is the only one who's getting a little heated. Describing his posts as "hate spewing" is a pretty uncalled for exaggeration, for one.

It not just having the opinion, it's how you go about it. It's just like Split Lip was just saying about positive opinions. "I like this" by itself isn't something worth arguing about, but when you dismiss naysayers as "haters" or other stuff like that, it comes off as abrasive.

While this design is certainly...different, i think this design has the same problem as AOE Galvatron did... a Design that may look good and powerful in the film, but translates horrible into a toy.

Saying that, why can't the Mastodon fill in the mid section and the Sabertooth fill in it's original position :(

As for the hate spewing, no. That's his posting style, not yours. I'm suggesting that you shouldn't go down that road man.

You've always been, in my eyes, logical and thought provoking. More akin to having a discussion instead of trying to prove a point.

For anyone else, I'm not coming down on Split, nor did I say he's "hate-spewing." I said he doesn't need to act that way to get his point across because he can do it better.

What's funny is, I've never given my opinion on this. For all you know, I share his sentiment.

Personally, I'm still on the fence about it. A fence that doesn't look like a fence but instead a Dinozaur fence.
