The only Goseiger villains I liked other than Buredoran was the Mantrintis Empire, and they were painfully underdeveloped. The Yuuma beasts were what almost killed the show for me. The Warstar weren't much better, but at least they looked good.

To me the Mantorintis felt forced at the end. I mean, I don't hate them but they didn't seem as fun or interesting as the Yuuma Beasts. They just sort of appeared out of nowhere. And the Yuuma were tied into Buredornans origins which made me immensely more interested in them.

Buredoran was one of the joys of that series. And something that made the Yumma better overall, and honestly he's what made the Shinkenger v Goseiger movie so good. I loved him completely and his little bats. And, you've heard this before, he needs to become to Sentai what Shocker is to Kamen Rider. He's that good.

And if I can be completely honest.. They can skip the Mantrintis and Yumma in Megaforce and I wouldn't begrudge Saban one bit. They weren't the best of Goseiger, and without old Brajira the Yumma might not've been watchable as villians at all. They only would've been watchable whenever Gosei Knight was on screen giving them a first class beat down.

Wow, they're really rolling out the power ups, eh? In the span of like, 6 episodes they got 13 more Headers (Though they lead me to believe that the Exotic Headers were a one time thing).
Anyway, Mons Drake is more boring than Ackdos Gills. He literally does nothing but stand around. At least Dereputa has dialogue with Buredoran and the MotW...

Yeah the headders appear in a constant stream for several episodes. Once they get Datas hyper and the Mystic Brothers though you won't see annything new until the teens when Gosei Ground shows up.

Mystic Brother is still the single stupidest Sentai mech I have ever seen. I'm so glad that Mega Force is apparently leaving that one out.

So Hyper Datas just happened. I seriously have no clue how to properly convey my emotions. Some sort of strange mix between confusion and disbelief...

Those feelings are very normal about Datas. And that's the other thing about Gosei. Instead of spacing out the power-ups they all come in one big burst. Then nothing. Then Gosei Ground power-ups. Then nothing. Then Miracle Headders.

Strange, I know.

It was alright. Looks like the Warstar is about to kick it, since Dereputa just bit the dust. I don't like Hyper Gosei Great. Though it's nice seeing where Gokai Silver got his fashion sense from, it's still just ugly.

No one could ever defend Hyper and say that it's pretty :lol It's just absurd. But I like that it uses all of the available mecha outside Mystic and Exotic.

Just call me No One. I rail against mess-mecha like G-12. But I will defend Hyper Gosei being beautiful to the day I die. I will though conceade that the toy is... meh. But on screen he demands respect!

How can you hate G12 when Hyper Gosei Great is literally just "Stick the faces on him." "Where" "I dunno. Everywhere."

Okay. Finished episode 13 and 14. First off, this series has an odd problem with allocation. Alata episode? Moune and Agri gets a new card. Eri episode? Alata gets a new card.

Anyway, Mystic Brother. I really, really wished it became a new set of legs for Gosei Great. Instead it becomes some stupid spinning thing that chucks an egg. Kind of disappointing.
Anyway, Mons Drake is coming down to wreck the place himself next episode. So yay. I love climactic battles during the first 4th of a series :lol

I always liked that about the show. You basically get 4 final battles and each one is better than the last.

Okay, just finished 2 more episodes. Mons Drake bit the dust, and Dereputa died again. And now it seems the Yuuma emerged from Rita's dumpster.

So I finally got around to watching the Shinkenger Kodansha DVD Special. After the series I had to have a brake. Except for maybe about 10 episodes, 15 max, I was bored to death. But that DVD was awesome. Hyper Shinken Gold? Hell yes. I love wacky one-off power ups like that. Like Hyper Shinken Green in Act 48 or Gokai Red Silver from the Goakiger DVD special.

Okay, so Gosei Knight just showed up, literally out of nowhere. As in, without hyperbole, he just appears. No build up. No lead in. It's just "Boom new Goseiger. Deal with it." Anyway, he's pretty cool. He has a sword that turns into a gun, so, as Linkara puts it, that makes it cool. Not a fan of his cell phone Tensouder thing, but I'm a little biased because I've never really liked cell phone morphers/items/whatever. Him being his own Header is also neat. Kinda like Beet J. Stag being a Buddyroid while also being a ranger.

Anyway, I also like that he's a sixth ranger that doesn't want fight the other rangers at first *Watches next episode preview* Oh. Never mind then.

But now you shall see the awesomeness commence. Where Gosei Knight appears and does much kicking of the ass. I like the Tensouder, though. Mostly, I like it connects to the Leon Lazor for true damage. PLus it's a phone.

Don't worry. I didn't capitalize "Sixth Ranger", so it's all good.

I liked the target thing, but the combination was a bit too chunky for my tastes.

The Leon Cellular's chunky to start with. Still cool, but chunky. It has to be though, I guess, because of the card gimmick. It would've looked worse if he had a Tensouder to. Plus no awesome targeting.

I had a really similar stance going on with Gosei Knight when he was revealed. His weapon and designs are all cool, but he's such a generic out-of-nowhere badboy when he's first revealed that getting through those first couple of episodes was a drag.
I grant the Leon Cellular amnesty from phone status for that voice though.

Dude I know. The Leon Cellular has like the best neutral english accent ever. I like it much more than the Tensouder and I actually really like the Tensouder anyway. But I agree that you sort of have a WTF moment when Knight appears. But once his origin is expanded on his sudden appearance makes much more sense.

Gosei Knight is going to be used as the perfect example of a character coming right out of left field from now on. I just can't get over how he literally appears out of nowhere.

Anyway, finished another episode. Jeez, the Gosei Knight I saw in 199 Heroes is nothing like this guy, and considering Sentai isn't angry at his depiction in the movie, he must mellow out something fierce during the series.

As Robo Knight would say "Gosei Knight is a Sixth Ranger. Deal with it." :p

You're close to the point where I gave up on the show, which I believe was the episode where Eri couldn't fight the monster until she baked a little boy's birthday cake. Worst pink ranger ever? Can't fairly answer that. Huge freaking moron? Oh hells yeah.

You're far too unforgiving :lol Worst pink would be Shinken-Pink for continuing to cook food so horrible that it nearly kills her teammates. At least Eri was an excellent chef.

I only watched about seven episodes of Shinkenger, so I don't really know much about... um... Japanese Mia (Switchblade fun fact: in the time it took me to google Samurai and double check Mia's name, I could have easily looked up Shinkenpink's. Not sure why I didn't). But I doubt she ever let her team run off into battle without her because this god damn cake wasn't going to ice itself.

A drag? Yea. I always find it a drag when a really food character is introduced. And he wasn't some generic bad-boy, thank you very much but no. Gosei Knight isn't blowing shit up out of some run-of-the-mill angst. The Earth reformatted him, summoned him back with the rise of the Yuuma, and asked him to defend Her from the pollution spreading through the world. Including pollution spread by humanity. Not "I'm angsty.. imma shoot stuff!". ... Generic.... -snort-

Oh, Sentai was angry. But the Goseigers fighting the Gokaigers with the Seaick Brothers made me laugh so hard I .. kind of looked past it. "You want pirates?! We got your pirates!" And yes Don, they were mocking you. Mock Mock Mock.

He's an Other Ranger. Never in the history of this website as anyone been as wrong has they are when they say "Gosei Knight is a Sixth". You're wrong and I'm dissapointed in all of you.

I don't give one flying Mooger what Toei thinks. He's an Other. If Toei knew what the hell they were doing Go-Busters wouldn't be tanking.

Edit: I count Sixths as Sentai who Henshin. So, to put it in US terms, Gosei Knight, Blue Centurian, Sentinal Knight, Phantom Ranger, all Others not Sixths. While Leanbow, Titanium, and Samurai (Ninja Storm) are Sixths and not Others.

So what about Kurojishi Rio? He's the sixth ranger who morphs, but is classified as an Other.

Anyway, just got to the Eri cake episode. Yeah. I'm putting that (And the Love episode) in the same boat I put the Gekiranger Christmas episode. The stupid episode that Sentais (And sometimes, KR) do to lighten the mood (Since the Geki Christmas episode comes after a string of rather dramatic and intense episode, if I recall correctly).

Yeah he's not a 6th. He definitely isn't. He doesn't even have a henshin device. So he's in league with dudes like Zubaan, Signalman, and the like. Although extra hero/rangers don't exclusively lack a henshin device. I do think the lack of one doesn't allow them to be classified as a your 6th ranger.

And Gosei Knight is a special case. In the context of the show he's actually the 7th. Gosei Green (Magis) was supposed to be the standard 6th ranger of the team and died. His death skews the team make up. So when Knight is added he takes the place of the traditional powerful 6th warrior but doesn't share enough attributes with his team mates to really be that proper 6th ranger. He definitely fits into that other category much better.

I figured as much. I really wouldn't count Gosei Green as an actual character though. He serves the same purpose as Sid in Gokaiger. Simply motivation and drive for one of the actual rangers.

Also, I like how the Yuuma have names based on cryptic animals. Though every time Buredoran says his name I swear I hear Chewbacca and not Chupacabra. :lol

Epic on the Movie? It's alright, but nothing you need to watch right now. Its a pretty stand alone story with an exclusive mecha (re: repaint + new headders), but like most Sentai movies it never gets mentioned in the show.
