Unfortunately Third-Party figures are too expensive (With the money I make), otherwise I would've gotten DX9 Tyrant.

An offical mp galvatron would most likely cost the same price though...

Dear lord. This is… like, even after all the great remolds and retools and new molds they offered with Unite Warriors, this is amazing.

No more hollow forearms, new guns, ankle tilt… new chest, new cab, and I’m sure much more I’m not seeing right now. That’s so awesome.

I didn't give a single damn about the TR PM Optimus. Especially since I already have CW Magnus and he had all of the same flaws.

I've been wondering the past couple days; how do you guys decide what goes into your collection? I've decided to go all in on Titan's Return & realized this is the first time I ever wanted to get an entire line of toys. And with how deep the franchise is I know there has to be a myriad of ways fans setup their displays.

So what's your method: Series? Characters? Teams? Gimmicks? Classes? Designs? Favorites? Everything?

With how expensive Transformers are at big box retailers now my Transformers buying has pretty much slowed down to a halt. My interest in them right now is limited to third party and Masterpiece releases and those are only if I'm at a convention and got the cash to burn.

It all comes down to interest.
Which makes all my TF purchases a lot easier as of late.
Since it's all G1 and RID's $15 glorified legion toys.

The only must-haves for me are Beast Wars toys, and we all know how common these are. We got one last year and we get one/two MP's this year, that's about it.

I pick up G1-stuff too but only if I like the figure since I don't really care all that much about G1. The only upcoming main-line figure I'm looking forward to is Takara's Super Ginrai. Because it looks so much better than Hasbro's Powermaster Prime and because we know that a Godbomber figure is on its way.

When Figuarts took over my life my Transformers collecting days pretty much ended. I've only casually got back into it lately with the release of more Japanese G1 characters. Star Saber kicked that off, and I'm really pumped for Super Ginrai as well as Masterforce is my favourite series. Really looking forward to this Liokaiser too, even with the torso issues that Takara may or may not do anything about.

I'm also picking up Legends Galvatron and Scourge (as well as Combiner Wars Cyclonus at some point to complete the trio), as Galvatron is my favourite character and I love the 86 movie. Would have picked up Grand Galvatron had I had the money at the time, because that thing was wonderfully executed.

With Titans Return I know I'll get a Highbrow no matter the cost and Nautica if the rumors about her getting a toy are true.

From what I've read here it seems like you guys really know your stuff when it comes to Transformers. So what have your experiences been like in the fandom? Is everyone here a fan from childhood? Or have you been on & off with the franchise? Maybe you just got into it like me? How does interacting with other fans feel? Etc.

I was young enough to have some late G1 and some G2 stuff but Beast Wars was where it really started for me. But it wasn't until Animated/Prime Era that I started to get really into it again and buying the toys. It's pretty much been something that's following me around my whole life, though lately my interest in Tfs has somewhat dialed back.

Been a fan forever, but like Kiryu above me, I haven't really been into it as of late (Don't really care about RID, REALLY don't care about the new movie, and the G1 bootlicking that are the other toys is just unappealing to me).

The fandom is just like every other fandom. You got the good, you got the bad, you got the sensible, you got the irrational, and you got everything in between.

I've been a fan since the mid 90's since Beast Wars. I was born in 1991, so G1 ended long before I was born and the franchise was kinda dead in the US at the time before 1996.

Beast Wars had animals and dinosaurs which what I was into as a kid at the time. I remember seeing ads for Beast Wars on Fox Kids back in 1996 and that got me hook into the series. I did discover G1 Transformers sometime later and I was surprise that there was more shows at the time. I remember renting the G1 movie back in 1997 and it blow me away on how cool it was. I never join TFW2005 or any popular fan sites, but I did lurk around them for years.

I first got into Transformers during G2. I remember watching the G2 version reruns of the G1 cartoon, I had a few issues of the Marvel G2 comic, and I think my first figure was either G2 Bumblebee or Seaspray. But Beast Wars was what cemented me as the hardcore Transformers fan I am today. Since then I never looked back.

Also as odd as it may sound the TF fans may have calmed down over the years. The TMNT fans, on the other hand seem to have taken their place as the over-reactionary "my version or the highway!" buffoons and I can't say I'm sorry I left such a toxic group of people.

Well, much like TF, TMNT reinvigorated a series of what would be dormant fans with the recent movie. Older fans joining the fandom once again, new guys hopping aboard, etc. It's not too surprising that things would get a little more annoying for them.

True; there's always strong opinions in regards to something so beloved. I've been reading old reviews on TMNT comics and all I'm thinking about is " TMNT 2012 is what the fans really want?" Still blows my mind.

Anyhoo Has and Paramount revealed the new logos for the next TF movies. They're not bad, just a little too safe for my tastes.

Dormant fans huh? You know, I can't imagine this with all the merch & media surrounding it, but we're there times when Transformers wasn't as prominent in the general public? Was it ever close to ending or being forgotten about? Or has it always been going on strong?

there was time during the beast wars before they thrown it in as being of the transformers franchise. it was orginal new toy line but that what i think it is does quote me on that

It depends on what part of the world your in.

The franchise has always been around in North America and some part of Europe but in Japan it was pretty much dead during the late 80s throughout the 90s while Takara ran the Brave series as a replacement.

Wasn't as prominent, yes. Sales for the franchise has always fluctuated, but Transformers never disappeared. when I say "Dormant," I meant fans who, for lack of a better term, moved on, but returned to the fandom once the movies hit the scene.

Anyone want to take bets on exactly how offensive Squeeks will end up being? Also, he kind of reminds me of a robot version of the alien from Mac and Me, for some reason. Considering how women are generally portrayed in the films, I feel for the girl.

Did anyone else know that Kane Kosugi aka NinjaBlack from Kakuranger is going to play Getaway in The Last Knight? This might be old news but I just found out.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up for this, but I really do want it to be good. Mostly because if this succeeds it would hopefully increase the likelihood of eventually getting some kind of animated adaptation of Last Stand of the Wreckers or something from MTMTE.
