Let's not forget about Hibiki's Armed Saber. It was literally a megaphone he would shout through.
But I am hoping for a gunblade. |
I'm thinking the swordsmith guy might be Slash, or a potential Rider in the future.
EDIT: I'll never understand this obsession with people wanting the new riders be female, we know time and time again, they don't have the best track record when it comes to Rider in general. |

As for people wanting female riders...I can’t speak for others, but as a woman myself, I just like seeing other girls getting to henshin and stuff. That’s not to say I’m not annoyed when, like Yaiba or Tsukuyomi, they have little-to-no consistency or are frequently damselled or whatever, but I still like to see them regardless |
To be honest. I absolutely hope Daishinji doesn't become a rider. Like in a Rider centric series like this I'd love a decent sized side cast that aren't riders. I'll never understand peoples obsession with wanting every single person in the cast to transform into rider. Or valuing only those who become Riders and thinking that that's the best route for side characters.

I didn't like how Faiz had several established characters that could have been the primary user of Delta and with valid reasons for becoming a Rider, but they make Delta an underdeveloped new character that doesn't get time to shine because of the already established Takumi/Kusaka/Yuji dynamic. |
When does Fuusoken Hayate be released?

I mean, it's not as if it doesn't still happen. You mention Gaim as the turning point, but then right after came Drive, where Gou is introduced right around the Second Quarter. Build does the same with Kazumin, where he debuts as a Rider right as the Second Quarter takes off. Even Zi-O does it, in a fashion, by introducing a New Woz, when we were all expecting it to be old Woz ala Ghost. I think it's become a little less easy to pick out because Toei's started introducing multiple Riders into series pretty early these days, but I can believe we'll get an entirely new character with their own belt sometime in January.

Yeah she REALLY deserves to be a Rider for no reason. Mind you most Riders don't deserve to be a Rider, the only two I can think of are Ichijou and Banjou. It's up to Bandai whether we're getting a female Rider with any extra attention. |
Yeah, I want more female riders as much as anyone (probably more than a lot of people, honestly), but none of the women in Saber really seem like they should be Riders yet.
Luna has been lost in who-knows-where, probably some part of the Wonder World, and we really do know nothing about her. If she were to show up in the present as a Rider, the show would have a lot of explaining to do about where she was and how she became one. Which could be really satisfying, the writers are foreshadowing Touma rescuing her, so it would be a great twist if by the time he met her again, she had grown up fighting for her life against Wonder World monsters and mastered a Seiken just to survive. Especially if she held a grudge against him for failing to keep his promise for so long. But there's no indication that the writers will do that, it's just me making things up. Mei would have to get way less panicky and more competent. Which could also be really satisfying, she has shown that she wants to help, and if it was done well having her become actually useful could go a long way towards making her a more likable character. But it's not the kind of thing that could just happen in one episode, and if the writers tried to rush that it would probably just fall flat. Sophia is the leader figure to the Sword of Logos so she clearly is supernatural in some way, and I wouldn't be surprised if she has some kind of power, which could even include a Rider form. But since she hasn't shown anything like that yet or gone into battle, that means that if she does have that kind of power, she must be saving it for when it's really needed. Even if she does reveal that she's a Rider, she'll probably have some reason for almost never transforming. That only leaves Buff Tinkerbell. And let's be honest, calling her a character at all is a stretch, she's really just a finisher special effect that happens to be portrayed by a live actress. Plus, she can beat up monsters just fine without being a Rider. So as hilarious as it would be to see her become a proper character and get a Rider form of her own, I highly doubt that will happen. |
Episode 6 revealed that there was a previous Blades and that it was this guy.

I think I'll just sit Saber out until there's more about Luna we haven't heard AND if she'll ever be a rider.

Part of me just feels lonely and since we're in a book/fairy tale theme, I wanted a love story. I'm desperate for romantic love. I mean look at G Gundam with Domon & Rain! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAf-...onFan%27nKamen DON'T YOU LAUGH AT THIS AND WHAT I FEEL!!!!! |
Kamen Rider isn't exactly known for its romantic stories (correct me if I'm wrong) so you're out of luck. Though If anything I can kinda see Blades and Mei becoming a thing because they've been hanging out recently and that secondary riders tend to get the girl
|
So we've got a bunch of knights and one ninja among them. I'm gonna call it for now that we're still due for one more 'outlier' rider later on, like a gladiator or something. Alternatively, the next new belt next year will just be a gun and the rider is a cowboy. (Kenzan becomes Starninger...)
|
So here's a thing I think I'm literally the only one to care enough about.
Saber's Riders are all named after swords, and I appreciate them sticking to a theme for all them a fuck ton. It kinda annoys me when we get a Rider like Ex-Aid but then the only other Rider to follow that naming convention is Para-DX. |

Funny enough in Build, all the riders actually hook up with someone, except Sento. EDIT: My mistake, I just remembered Fourze, though more of a long distance relationship kind. |

They’re a cute ship, mind, but they’re not canon. Haruto and Koyomi are another one like that. |
Unrelated to the romance and which ships are or aren't canon, something just occurred to me: We thought Tetsuo Daishinji would be the Swordsman of Metal because the kanji of his name talk about metal, right? "I believe in metal" or something like that, IIRC. So him as Slash being the Swordsman of Sound seems to come out of nowhere...
Unless the "metal" in his name isn't talking about literal metal, but a pun on heavy metal music. |

Calibur's belt this week?
Oh wait it is! Anyway, I’m disappointed no henshin background for Kenzan yet. Wonder when. |

So since all the other riders visors reflect how they slash in the transformation, this means that Slash shoots in his. |
