Buuuuuuuuuuuuut, there's a good chance that it's actually a fake "English sounding" word Toei made up since its in Kata to begin with. In which case it's possible it is supposed to be pronounced "Ahdryan" or even "Adrian" and they just did the Kata weird?? She thought this was interesting because we really won't know how it's said until we hear it pronounced in show (though people in Japan would probabaly be inclined to pronounce it "Ahudorian" if they just read it). But in any case, what it's meant to mean or sound lile she has no idea. If I were to make a personal guess I'd say "Ahudorian" is likely what the "Game Players" / Riders will be called this season? Or could be some kind of being in-universe. I do like the tone of a lot of the text we're seeing... "The game to save the world" "I am [an] Ahudorian. I know nothing" It all has a cool vibe. On another note, I want to make an early prediction (/gamble). I think it would be cool if it is a battle royale, but all the players voluntarily give up their memories before the fight begins. This could lead to some very interesting dynamics if the cast are all people who know they've agreed to fight but don't know why. We could get reveals of what people were like before the battle and see how different they behave now that they've given up their own history. I think it would tie well into the "I know nothing" line as well as the flyer making it sound like some origin story content may be saved for the winter movie This is of course a total shot in the dark though, and it's more of a day dream than a real theory lol |
Two more things I just noticed:
1. Geats' ears are hollow, and look more car-spoilerish (wonder if that's intentional). 2. I just remembered that there were rumors saying that his base form is called Trigger Thrust, and separate rumors saying his cameo in the movie involved a lot "Gunslinger-style fighting." If these are true, I wonder if the dial-looking item on the belt is also supposed to resemble a revolver chamber. Would make a lot of sense if his base form is called Trigger (revolver chamber on the belt) Thrust (Bike handle on the belt). |
Alright, self... You like the suit again. Now actually remember to watch the show as soon as it starts or you'll fall hopelessly behind and not pick it up. Again.
But I do really like it. Turns out I might have a soft spot for the split colors designs lol. Hadn't even noticed the thrusters on his legs at first. But that and the handlebars on the belt have me intrigued to see more of this motif. Top of the head kinda reminds me of a bike helmet too. |

Excuse me what is this and why does it look so awesome?
Also, that sure is - a gun. As in, it looks actually lethal. And I just noticed the engine feet, that's cool. Driver seems to called the "Desire Driver"? https://i.imgur.com/2BxTD6o.jpg |
Geats' twitter is live! Have a key visual!
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FYNy3HUV...jpg&name=small Some beats from the movie pamphlets: Geats' civilian idenity is Eisu Ukiyo(? someone double check that) (浮世英寿). Him and other Riders fight in something called the Desire Grand Prix. (デザイアグランプリ) There are mysterious enemies are known as Jamato (ジャマト) Apparently, by fighting monsters, saving people, and surviving in this game, Riders earn points. The end goal is so that the winner can create the "ideal world". Apparently, Ukiyo* is someone unhappy with his current life, so he decided to participate in the game. |

That's a much more flattering picture of our hero though! |
Staff listing's up!

Oh hell yes, I like this visual waaaaaaay more! Looks awesome!!
The plot summary sounds kinda "teen edgy", but I mean that in a good way I feel very excited for this core premise for some reason... maybe I'm still an edgy teen at heart :lol |
Takahashi every 3 years now, huh? :p However, the producer this time is Takebe, instead of Ohmori, so it might be sufficiently different from EX-Aid and Zero One. Even so, I hope we get some reliable secondary writers as well though.

Okay, so I kinda love Yuya Takahashi, there's writers I would have liked to see more buuuuuuuuuuut.... I was big into Ex-Aid when it was airing, and while I feel like it doesn't hold up to a rewatch the best, it still has a special place in my heart (it's also probably the series where I bought the most toys, I have every DX non-prototype gashat that appeared in the show EXCEPT for Mighty Doctors which I still might impulse buy on ebay someday lol... plus a couple Protype ones [including the original Proto Mighty Action X], and also Pac Adventure for fun) And Zero-One I thought was mostly great, I feel like it had some mixed metaphors that landed sort of weird, but I think a lot of Zero-One's biggest problems came from Covid-19 totally messing up the pace of the show's ending (and also possibly the producer meddling). Still Zero-One is a show where (for the most part) I love the start of the show and the final arc, but feel sort of meh on the middle I think Takahashi's writing was generally improved in Zero-One, and I feel like if he takes all of his experience, and (hopefully) doesn't get screwed over by the pandemic again... This show could be really great. At the very least I expect it to be full of big spectacle moments and an interesting tone I do know Ex-Aid and Zero-One are very much shows that aren't to everyone's tastes though, so I'd be curious to know how other people are feeling about Takahashi? Also, the first Director listed did more EPs for Wizard than anything else, which excites my bc Wizard has a great visual style tbh A different producer from Ex-Aid and Zero-One also has me VERY excited, OOO and Gaim (her two most recently head produced shows) are some pretty fun shows imo, so call me hyped all around |
I'm really getting a kind of...dark vibe from this show? Like focusing on "desires" again kind of like the demons in Revice, and Riders competing with each other to the point where their heroism is for points and not for the sake of altruism. The Rider isn't a happy-go-lucky everyman but someone unsatisfied with their life.
Even the visual is different with Geats standing ominously with his gun. I wasn't expecting Takahashi to come back. The premise actually reminds me a lot of the early episodes of Ex-Aid so that kind of tracks? It'll be interesting to see how different this is from Ex-Aid and Zero-One, especially with Takebe at the helm of a Rider show again. |
Okay, I'm willing to give Takahashi another spin at the Rider wheel. Also having Takebe with him will probably help things feel different in some ways. So here's hoping we get some good stuff.

Yikes |
Takebe hasn't been a main producer since Gaim, so it's kind of nice to see her back.
|
Assuming the half-and-half motif is returning, it looks like the top half is based on a fox while the bottom is motorcycle? Either way, loving the suit design and weapon and can't wait for an SHF
|
I'm almost mad that I'm excited by the staff and the suit now, it increases the odds this show is going to hurt my wallet.... I'm a sucker for toys from shows I like :lol
Really wanna see the trailer now, the mix of the writer, producer, and head director really make me want to see the visual vibe of the show |

Other things I've noticed: The gun looks amazing, complete with a little fox tail! The engine feet are something I'm now just noticing, and I too feel like he might be like Accel, as his own bike or something, and I can somewhat see how the suit splits into two, or how the armor gimmick works. (Looks like OOO hit something to make desires a recurring thing, unless that's just the Driver's name and not actually indicative of the theme) I'm definitely excited for Geats! |
Hmmmm, not gonna lie.....I'm not sure if I'm excited for this or not?
I have........mixed feelings about Takahashi's Rider works, theyre never particularly my cup of tea due to his approach on characters and certain topics. I liked High School Heroes well enough though, so maybe I'll like this? The concept.....like Jaz said, it's real edgy. It's kinda hard to wrap around your head that it's been a good 10 years since the last proper "Rider War", considering Rider v Rider as a major plot point is so commonplace these days. I feel like my opinion of the story could be either hopeful or heistant, depending on the execution...(I adooooore Ryuki, but Gaim is my least favorite series by a considerable margin) So I'll personally hold off on any sweeping claims until the press conference gives us a proper look. |

As for the design, I really dig it. Not sure I'll get the Figuart, but... that's literally what I thought about Revice, and now I have a Revi on my shelf, so... I'm pretty excited for Yuuya Takahashi to helm the show again. Not only do I totally dig Ex-Aid and Zero-One -- I adored High School Heroes, which he wrote all of as well. (Seriously, if you haven't watched High School Heroes yet, you need to do yourself a favor and seek it out. I think it's my favorite Toku series of the last several years (up until DonBrothers, that is).) |
I'm going to be honest if anything in Geats is similar to the Workplace Competition in Zero-One I'm automatically dropping the show and I'm going to wait till the show done to binge watch the rest of it.
|
Heads up, TV-Asahi's got an interesting description of our protag:
Quote:
Also of note on that page: -Fortnite and Apex Legends are directly name-dropped when talking about the surivial game aspect (How the genre is popular with children and how they'll infuse it with Rider for a thrilling experience.) Quote:

I really love the city aethetic in the poster... The tower in the background makes me wonder if this will be another "fictional city" setting similar to W or Gaim, I'd enjoy that personally, especially if it has this like light cyber-punk aesthetic in the poster
The hologram signs make me wonder if there could be an AR component to the "Desire Grand Prix" could be fun to have like heads-up-displays and visual flair added by the helmets (Though I feel like what I'm describing is a bit similar to the glasses in DonBrothers...) Quote:
|
Edit: Someone has noted that the spelling for our protag's family name is most likely to be read as Eisu, to sound like the english word "Ace", will be changing that on the other posts until we actually hear someone say it. (the reason for that pun being pretty obvious when looking at what it means in terms of shooters and guns)

Given how well the CGI worlds have worked on DonBrothers, I'm pretty interested to see how the concept will evolve for Toei going forward. Maybe the "gameplay" takes place in a digital cyberpunk setting, which would be pretty rad. |
Currently from examining the pictures I'm quite confident the item on the right (our left) of the belt can click into the gun to serve as a revolver cylinder, while the handle is likely also removable. And those two items together are what are creating this form (everyone else likely already assumed this but I haven't seen it stated bluntly so thought I would lol)
Especially since the form we're seeing does seem to confirm the upper-body lower-body half and half form split rumours we were seeing I really love the idea of one shared belt that can look radically different based one what you click into it, I've pitched that concept to people as my ideal rider belt before even... While idk if this has gone as far as I would have liked it's pretty close and I am excited. I really want to see how different they can make it look for different riders, and having more "unique" less uniform feeling gimmick items would make me feel a lot more inclined to buy them tbh One thing I'd LOVE to see from the revolver gimmick item is if it can do a simple practical animation effect. I feel like if they used mirrors like the ex-aid belt did, and have the revolver piece spin, they could create a very simple 6 frame animation on the belt screen just by having 6 or so different frames around the edge of the revolver piece, that get lit up as it spins Similar to classic "Zeotrope" toys |

I'm not actually big on Geats' design yet, but that's honestly more of a relief than anything. Rising Hopper, Brave Dragon, and Rex Genome were three all-time amazing base forms for me three years in a row, so it's actually kind of nice to not have to worry about debating with myself if a new guy tops my old favorites or not for the first time in a while.
It's hard to peg down, but my immediate impression of Geats is that it's not as distinctive as I'm used to for Rider leads, and not as communicative either. But then like, we've got that plot summary now with a description of the dude's personality, and already the aggressive vibe of the suit seems to be fitting pretty well, so maybe first impressions don't count for everything. And I mean, it's not like I even thought it looked bad to begin with. It's definitely going to make more sense the more we learn about the show and its gimmicks, and I'm definitely going to get used to seeing it every week. (Honestly, even just the tail scarf being shown off on the key visual makes me love it a lot more already.) Takebe and Takahashi is a pretty interesting staff combo! I still consider Takahashi to be a particularly brilliant writer for Rider in a lot of ways, and Takebe was the producer behind a whole lot of my favorite toku shows ever, but there's kind of no telling exactly what the two of them will bring to this particular series. It definitely sounds like they're shooting for "Ex-Aid + Gaim", broadly speaking, but you know, we'll see! At any rate, as a dog lover, I got what I'm after. We've got Precure, Sentai, and Rider all prominently featuring canines at the same time. I'd make a joke about this being the Reiwan era now, except foxes have a different onomatopoeia. Dang! :lol |
Geatz is looking good!
I love the scarf, the dominant white color, and the fact that he's a gunner. I hope they don't just transform the gun into a melee weapon like they did with Zenkaiger. I'm more hoping for that Gun-Fu style of combat. I am partial to the tech-based riders and I hope the animal motif is a lot more subtle than past riders. We've just had a lot of animals already. I'm praying that Geats' fox motif is akin to Faiz's shark motif in that it's mostly a visual thing. The exhaust on his feet make me thing he'll be a speed type. And the design of the Desire Driver makes me think he'll rapidly switch forms in combat, like mid combo. It certainly looks like the game-world/battle royale theme might be true. The guns would play into that pretty well. Super excited! |
I love the helmet, rally like the gun. Actually, I think I like everything but the shoulder pads - they're just okay.
Ex-Aid is one of my favorite series, and I enjoyed Zero-One a lot, other than the job arc, so I assume I'll like this one. |
The gun honestly looks very cool, I don't normally buy weapon toys for rider but if the toy isn't super shrunk down compared to the prop I might think about it this time honestly
I think it's just how sleek the gun is honestly, it looks less like a toy than normal even though it has the fox tail, the visible hinge, and a slot for gimmick items lol |
Damn i'm so looking forward for this show, Geats design is just great and for me is probably the best rider design we get in reiwa, the sypnosis looks promising and feel darker than usual and Takahashi is on the steering wheel again?
Zero-one might dissapoint me a lot, but Ex-aid was amazing, plus Zero-one got the pandemic problem in the middle of it's airing so i cut it some slack |
Story sounds interesting, reminds me of Blade's Battle Fight (not that I've seen Blade). Hopefully it's good, Revice is just boring to me at the moment.
|
I actually kinda hope the first arc is like the competition arc. Always thought that one would have been a far superior first arc than the one we got. It helps that that arc was probably the best-written part of Zero-One in general.
All in all, I just want something more... laid back for the first arc. No world-ending stakes, no constant new problems, just competition shenanigans before the script flips on them during December. Still... Hope the monsters in the first arc are just that, monsters, simple mobs that don't tie into any MOTW plots beyond getting beat up. Takahashi's early MOTW plots are all just kinda... shit. And they'll need all the time to flesh out the Riders, so, I rather have the story mostly driven by Rider conflict than the monsters. That also means no real villain group this time. Please. |
Quote:
Takahashi's strength, IMO, is how he writes his central characters and their relationships. I think a less MOTW-centric format will allow him to differentiate Geats from his other Rider series while still playing to his strengths, potentially even more than in Ex-Aid and Zero-One. |
Same writer and director of Ex-Aid, with a similar motif?
We are absolutely getting an Ex-Aid crossover on TTFC. |
Quote:
Let's call the Ex-Aid/Zero-One/Geats group the Takahashi Trifecta. If Takahashi writes for another season? Well, we're gonna have to come up with something new then. But for now, that works. |
inb4 both of the Genm's specials were all lead up to this and they somehow worm their way into the main show.
