Man I am enjoying Y so much! It may be the same old game at the heart of it, but the graphics are gorgeous and really do make the game feel fresh. Plus, in the first like wild area I went into, I got me a Pikachu and a Pansear! I'm right near the end of White 2 and yet to find Pokémon that awesome.

Question for those with the game: Can you save just before you pick your starter? As I kinda want to soft reset for a female Fennekin but don't want to do the name preamble over and over.

I personally haven't tried, haha.

So how's the difficulty? I was worried things might be too easy considering that you get like, three Pokemon right off the bat.

It's still early days for me, so it's hard to judge. I mean like White 2 started much easier than Y did, but it always ends in grinding by the end, I'm hoping Y breaks the trend.

Kinda pissed off, I had no idea this Torchic event was going on as I'm a pure casual fan and only occasionally popped my head in this thread before I got the game yesterday. And by the time I did I'd already saved my party with a Charmander in it. I know Charmander is nothing to complain about, but if I had known I would have picked Squirtle instead so I could have had three starters, one of each type. Mega Blastoise is so cool as well. :( Oh well! Still enjoying the game.
