Saw the new Ghost in the Shell movie. It was a really good ending to Arise (at least it is currently the ending), but it was a little too simplistic compared to what I expect out of Ghost in the Shell. Nevertheless, if you enjoyed Arise, you will enjoy this. 8/10 stars.

What a telegraphed twist, yet still framed in such a way that you're not really sure until this episode drops...Well done. |

That burial scene... I'm not crying, show! You're crying! Shut up! Gah. That was a really good frigging show. Medicine felt like a bit of a cop out and the last minute or so just...don't know how to take that, but... Still. Good shit. Definitely gotta buy the manga, thank goodness it just started coming out here... |
Digimon Adventure tri. The only reason I'm not watching Jessica Jones right now.
My inner child is dying of happiness. And he still hates Matt/Yamato. |

He treated Joe like dirt in the episode WereGururumon showed up, believing that the guy most frightened by the world they're stuck in and one of the most vocal about getting out is sabotaging their chances of leaving the diner they're stuck working in because he's more afraid of the guy in charge than of the idea of leaving. Joe gets scared, sure, but he isn't that kind of guy. A real friend would know that without treating him like shit. He agrees along with everyone else to return to the Digital World to fight the Dark Masters in the first place, no one forced him too (besides the tractor beam in the sky, anyway), but when T.K. gets kidnapped he acts like this was all Tai's idea and that it's his fault T.K.'s in trouble, calling it "his war" and such nonsense. No one else acts out this way but the "Child of Friendship". When T.K. escapes on his own, he runs away feeling like shit and comes back trying to hurt Tai because a pedo-tree told him too. Others may hate Matt because of the whole Sora "chose" him stuff from Season 2, but I got over that ages ago when I heard how the original Japanese dub barely had any hint of Tai liking Sora to begin with. I don't like him because he's an ass, one undeserving of the crest he represents. Tai's brave to a stupid point, Sora's all caring, Izzy's smarter then everyone (a cheap crest to give, but accurate), Joe's reliable, T.K. is a little kid so naturally see the brighter side of most things, and Mimi always speaks her mind. Matt is a wannabe loner who acts cooler than he is. Tai's not perfect or my favorite (that would be Izzy), but he at least acts like his attribute. Matt's a punk. Gabumon's cool though, which is the one of the few things good about Matt, and it barely has anything to do with him. |

I mean, the crests dont all reflect the characters entirely, some of them reflect traits they need to learn to have or to overcome the opposite of that trait. like, TK didn't always have hope and Mimi certainly had to earn her sincerity, but I feel Matt is kinda hard to dictate how he is a friend. yeah, Matt does jump off the deep end, but it's mainly because he's always worried about the little brother he couldn't be with for a good chunk of his life, like how Tai was reckless when Kari got sick, Matt gets emotional if anything happens to TK. IMO, Matt's crest is meant to be what Matt NEEDS to have, and he did overcome his distrust of Joe during that episode where they were forced to work the restaurant. friendship is a difficult thing to really put into place. it's not always being nice, sometimes it's being honest with them. hell, when Davis had to earn his egg of friendship it was after he and TK had a straight up fight, which friends sometimes do. |

Mimi is normally sincere, it's just that she used to whine more than be caring at first. Even if T.K. has moments where he is filled with dread, like how Tai can obviously be very scared of the huge monsters going after them, they get over it, and being the opposite of their crests is not a default for them. Friends may not always be getting along, but for someone who supposed to Represent the idea of Friendship to be that much of an ass while someone like Sora had to be insulted to get self-hating and depressed and Tai had to realize he could die (even though he knew that before Izzy brought up the whole data thing) to start second guessing himself, it doesn't endear him to me. Matt can be as complicated as the writers like, doesn't change the fact that he's a jackass, whatever his problems may be. |
Comet Lucifer is such a disappointing, incompetent anime. Today's episode was a "big one" for reveals, but they were so bland, uninspired and impactless...I have lost all my patience for this stupid show. Still four more episodes...

I watched episodes 1-5 of Ai Tenchi Muyo. The newest Tenchi anime and it's not too bad. The animation is good and it has a lot of funny moments. Overall not bad and I want to check out the rest.

Finished up Ghost in the Shell: Arise today. It was good, but I have some mixed feelings about the whole thing. You can really feel this was by the same guy as Mardock Scramble, because even though it has all the obvious cyberpunk elements of GitS they feel exactly like they did in Mardock. But hey, I really liked Mardock Scramble until it got weird so whatever.
I really liked how it showed Kusanagi's team coming together with them usually starting up on opposite sides. While I don't have any complaints about the Major's redesign, seeing her so vulnerable after watching the movie and SAC is pretty jarring. I mean I get it - these are essentially her early days and it does make her feel more 'human', but it gets a bit old when she's getting her ghost hacked multiple times each episode. The art was pretty hit and miss with me too. Everyone seems to have this weird vacant look. Which given the franchise I'm sure was partly intentional, but it still sits with me a little weird. Now to decide whether I want that Arise Kusanagi Figma...just wish it was the red outfit rather than the stealth suit. |
it time to see why toei made funimation to skip 11th film of one piece. after find a download so i can watch it one piece movie 11 3d straw hat chase

Fate/Zero, episodes 1-4
Love, love, love the animation in this. It's so crisp and fluid, feels more like a movie then a TV series. Not sure I fully understand the story, it would help if so many of the characters didn't look so similar. As it stands though, I like it a lot. Rider's definitely my favorite character, even if his master is annoying. I'm not really sure why episode 1 was so long, though. It had a pretty clean stopping point halfway through, so they could've easily made it 2 episodes. |

People summon heroes to beat the everliving sh#t out of each other. It's technically a prequel, so some stuff might be lost in the way, but it's relatively clear all in all. They seem to love making those, as Unlimited Blade Workds had a long start too. |

Subete ga F ni Naru is getting pretty interesting. The last part with the epiphany in the latest episode was weird as hell, but cool. Then the final hints came down in the flashback. I was so confused and then just "...OH, she had a kid!"
I mean, I think. Who knows. Mysteries. |

I saw episode 1 of Persona 4 and it was pretty awesome. Never played the game, I plan on watching the show after I finished my final soon. People tell me to watch the first show first before I watch Golden.

I am currently watching the English dubbed version of the third episode of Sailor Crystal. The scene in this episode with Rei quickly figuring out that Sailor Moon and Usagi are one and the same just as soon as she regains consciousness with the latter trying to deny it albeit very badly which in turn causes Luna to facepalm is just one of those things that really make this series worth it to me.

The next anime I'm gonna watch is Ninja Slayer. I decided that based on the artstyle, polarizing views on the series and the awesome opening.

this is all that needs to be said to sum up my anime watching today. |
So I just finished Yuki Yuna, and after 12 episodes it's average at best. Not trying to step on any toes here since I know quite a few liked this one when it first aired but I'm just being honest.
Okay, first off let me say there were a few things I did like about this series. For one thing the music and visuals were breath taking at times and as a die hard animation enthusiast had me hooked from episode 1. Second, the comedy was spot on with only a few jokes/gags falling flat. My personal favorite being the instances involving a particular note pad. People who've seen the series know what I'm talking about. Lastly, the characters were very well defined and I can say I at the least didn't hate them which is a high compliment I swear. If I had to pick a favorite it'd probably be Karin due to the subtlety in her portrayal and growth throughout the story. If the rest of the series was handled the same as she was from a writing stand point I probably would've liked it a lot more. Probably... because as much as I can say I enjoyed this series it has more than it's fair share of problems. First a fore more being the ungodly amount of boob bouncing, ass shots and other forms of sexualization this series has spewn through it. I looked up the intro to this series and there were two acounts of this both from the same character. I'm sorry, but the only series I'll accept this from is Kill La Kill which was pretty much a walking joke from the word go, not a drama series expecting me to take it seriously. Speaking of, even if the fanservice wasn't there it would be pretty hard to take this thing seriously with just how sloppy the story is presented. Various boughts of exposition take up a majority of how all the blanks are filled in and rather than have a few good flash back bits to do all this the writters thought it better to haphazardly shoot disjointed dialogue between characters making it frustrating to put a sensible time line together. Now normally this really wouldn't be a problem as usually I can look past backstories that don't make logical sense, (See the history of Inuyasha and Kikyo for an example) as usually it's just a one time thing. But it's not only in the backstory but rather in the main story as well, with needless dialogue and systems that are put in place to try and seem original but instead make what should be a moving short story into something overly complicated and confusing. When I first heard of this series, the initial pitch was that it was Madoka Magica but on a far greater scale. However after watching it in full I can tell this truly is not the case. With Madoka being as over blown as it is it's hard to say it's good and be credible anymore. But at the very least I can say that Madoka had a far better story and characters due to the fact that it took it's time, remained simple and became something that I will always hold dear. Yuki Yuna on other hand I'll be glad I watched but will most likely move past. Though it has tought me one very valuable thing, things are often imitated but never bested. |
Start to continue my watch of yes pre cure 5 and I am really enjoying it it my fave season so fare.

I've been making some progress on Futari wa myself. I'm on episode 17 I think, it's finally getting pretty fun. There's been a lot more focus on the team dynamic and it's pretty cool. The episode at the lake was fricking great.
Also, I fucking love Honoka. It's a shame she isn't the main main character, I think she'd have half a chance of displacing Tsubomi as My Favorite. (Just half though, Tsubomi is literally perfection). Speaking of Precure being good, Princess has been on a roll for a while now. We're in the home stretch and it's still looking really strong. This was a good series with which to start this franchise. |
I also watched all the precure all star movies as well got me back in to watching every season
