So I started watching the first 4 episodes of IBO season 2. To be honest, I kinda forgot about it airing, but today I've caught myself up on all the episodes.
This white haired guy really wants to surpass Mika huh? I have a bad feeling he might become a villain and break off from Tekkadan for not letting him do the surgery. The only other guy who got Alaya Vijana when he wasn't a kid we know of so far is Ein, and he was practically dead when he got it. Also, we get to see that guy's inspiration to surpass Mika, and what a failed surgery looks like. Nice to see the brutality from season 1 is still here. Tekkadan is working with Gjallerhron, or at least part of it. Interesting how it's not aligned with the entire organization, making McGillis' goal to rise to power within Gjallerhorn much more interesting and dynamic for the conflict. Also, it's cool to see the rest of the Seven Star families. I guess that theory of Eugene being from one of the families given his last name being Sevenstark isn't true, since none of the names matched that. Good lord there's a lot of business and politics so far. I understand it's set up for the rest of the season but wow. Orga's wearing a suit because he's now doing more desk work lol. Also, has anyone noticed sort of a running them with some characters having their jackets over their attire. Mika has his over his sling, while orga has his over his suit, and I saw one of the Gjallerhorn guys wearing a different jacket on top of his regular uniform? Maybe it's symbolism for the internal changes to these characters that develops their core identities rather than thier dedication to the organization that they follow. I am surprised Kudelia seems to only be in danger for this arc, and they got over the problem pretty quickly. I mean, the Pirates land, try to attack the mine, and Tekkadan is already planning to destroy a good portion of their fleet before it's revealed that it was their entire fleet. Barbatos Lupus is cool, but the rest of the new mobile suits so far look very meh. I haven't looked at the gunpla for any of these yet to get an idea of the form so I can't make a final judgement. |
So there's gonna be a Strike Freedom variant in the Amazing Ready manga and it looks awesome:

Anyone a fan of Gundam Vidar? I kinda want one jow after seeing it in IBO season 2, giving me some Exia vibes. |

IBO 30
War's a brewing. And I have a bad feeling Tekkadan could possibly split apart while Mika and the others are on their way from Mars. |
30? I thought we were only on episode 29?
EDIT: Nah I'm just a doofus. Also, am I alone in not giving a shit about Takaki and hsi sister and the Brewers kid? Like, this show has so many freaking characters that actually have plot significance, it kinda bugs me that there's also so many useless ones on top of that who get screentime they don't really need or deserve. |
I am moving home at the weekend. Does anyone have any advice on what is the best way to pack my completed model kits? Thank you.

Did anyone see that post on Tumblr that some random person thought a Gundam fan with a Zeon symbol on their icon got called... something very sensitive It's really weird and funny at the same time.

Did they get called a Nazi or something? |
So IBO 31 had me sort of lost. It felt like the end of last season where it threw you into a battle and you're trying to catch what's going on.

I can't believe you guys missed the news, but Rightstuf has said next year 08th MS Team and the movie trilogy will get a BD release. They are also bringing over something called MS IGLOO and 0083's OVA and movie will all be in the same package.

There's a Gundam Thunderbolt Sequel coming in 2017. It's based off of the Earth arc in the manga from what it looks.

Earth arc?
|
Hi all. been a while since I posted in this thread. Been needing to catch up on IBO among others but I wanted to post about a winter-spring project. I'm getting back into MG gundams starting with:
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...t2000ca/DS.png (image from HLJ) And from there I plan to get each of the gundam wing EW Gundams. Deathscythe just happens to be my favorite of the core 5. Hope to have it in a few weeks time. |

Also really wish Bandai would a MG line of all the OZ Mobile suits. |

So does this arc take place directly after the series? |

This part of Thunderbolt takes place after the end of Gundam 0079, or the after the end of the One Year War. I believe about 8 months into the year 0080 events start. Zeon remnants are still floating around on Earth despite the Principality giving up on December 31st 0079 U.C. |

Or at least RE:1/100. |
Slight change of plans. Might pick up Wing Gundam at my "Local" hobby shop.... (1 1/2 hour drive). Meeting a friend to hang out and thought to try my luck by phoning and asking about any of the kits. I think the store is a little overpriced but when one factors in shipping the price difference it is a little easier to swallow.

Well it begins:
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...120_000323.jpg Those shoulder cannons were a pain may glue the front pieces later. Other then that great build so far. |
I caught up with the 2 most recent episodes of IBO, and it finally feels like this season is ramping up. So far, the 2 arcs so fae have just been that there's been people trying to screw over Tekkadan, Tekkadan beats the shit out of the things sent their way be the people trying to screw them over, and the people getting punished as a result. But with the most recent episode with McGillis giving the potiential reward of Tekkadan being the kings of Mars, I feel like there's now a visible goal now and really made me rethink the season so far.
While the needle hasn't moved so much in 8 episodes, the changes that occur because of these smaller arcs allowing Tekkadan to grow and potentially become great is really exciting. Also, hints of Bael and the guy who founded Gjallerhorn are mentioned, plus rumors of McGillis not actually being Izanario's son. I wonder who might have Bael then? |
Also, there's the masked man (Gaelio) rather blatantly alluding to Ein, and saying he's very close to him.
I feel like season 2 has been much stronger than season 1 was at this point, with a largely consistent pattern of one to two eps of build-up with a big payoff episode that makes it all worth it. And while I didn't like him, Takaki getting a proper send-off was nice. |

I'd suggest gluing the V fin as well. |

Update: odd thing I found: the two blue sections of the buster rifle wouldn't fit properly. looks like extra material on the wing part so I removed it as best as I could and happy with the result. Update 2: Well here it is: http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...121_233104.jpg Again fun build and something I'd recommend to someone just starting out in master grade gunpla. |
