There is still development in Kaito's philosophy. At first, he craves power to protect the weak, without regard for their opinions. And in the end he decides to create a world in which the weak simply cannot survive. No, of course, without life there is no suffering, but I don?t think that in the first episodes he imagined a solution in exactly this way.
As for the stop, this is the basis of my complaints against Mai. She could have given the fruit to Kouta before their final fight and, with the power of God, Gaim could have easily calmed down his unlucky friend. Maybe not with the power that was originally conceived (because in the crossover with Drive it`s not the most outstanding villain who defeats him in a couple of minutes), but with the power that is shown in later crossovers - no problem.
As an option: send Kaito to an uninhabited planet, where he can demonstrate his strength as much as he likes without harming anyone. Of course, knowing his stubbornness, Kaito would sooner or later get out and gain super strength to continue the fight, but to quote another show:

Not actually possible. It's made clear that the Woman of the Beginnings can only be a viewer, rather than take any sort of significant impact in how events play out. Whether one interprets that to be "because of fate" like Sagara claims, or because Sagara outright prevents her from doing so(which is more likely given he's the one who rescues Mai from the Time Paradox), it meant that all Mai could do was play by the established rules until Kota found a workaround after winning the war and gaining the Fruit.

Really? In my opinion, we were only shown that she cannot change the past and prevent the rider war from happening. No restrictions on the delivery of the Fruit are mentioned. Again, maybe it's the subs' fault, but they claim that Woman of the Beginnings picks a winner, not rewards them. Plus, after Kouta?s victory, Mai says that she realized that he was right, but at the same time she could not refuse Kaito. But she doesn?t claim that the Fruit simply didn?t want to be given away. So if it was meant, it was so subtle that it broke. Of course, it is possible to explain and think through the situation, but specifically in this case, my thoughts are moving in a different direction.

Fair point. However, that means Kaito took the sum of all morals presented to him and somehow decided the right answer was to commit genocide, which is such a Kaito move. At least with Kusaka, he betrays so often that we can always trust him to betray.

Seems like the most Mai can do with her space goddess powers is host a fashion contest in the Hyper Battle. :lol

You mean, like, the Gaim equivalent of Wizard kicking Phoenix in to the sun? Hmm, would Kaito be satisfied though, if he has no opponents to prove his strength against? Maybe we should put Mitsuzane on that planet as well, for good measure, haha.

Even if she were able to just give the Fruit to whoever she wanted like how Rosuo was able to, she wouldn't have been able to do it in that specific instance given she was trapped in the time warp. Most she could do was appear as an apparition until Sagara pulls her out.

I think the greatest testament to Gaim's enduring popularity is how consistently it can spark these sorts of passionate debates about what aspects are good/bad and what the intention behind the story is. Other Rider shows are arguably more complex or open-ended, but I'd argue nothing quite gets people talking like asking "Is (insert anyone from Gaim) a good character?" :lol

To be honest, I don't remember exactly when Mai stopped being a time-traveling ghost. But, nevertheless, then it would be more logical to say something like: ?It?s a pity that I couldn?t do anything,? and not those words about her relationship with Kouta and Kaito. I mean, if this phrase is not an explanation of her motive, then these words simply do not make sense. Because the fact that she cares about Kaito has been shown many times before.

Tooting. It's funny that the much-debated Geats was forgotten so quickly that his last two films weren't even mentioned (I saw Jamato Awakening, but I'm too lazy to write a review). And only PunkJack fans (of whom I am slightly afraid) demand his appearance in Outsiders.

That's because it was already shown earlier that she couldn't do anything of any real consequence no matter how hard she tried. When she first tries to alter the past, "fate" (AKA Sagara) outright won't let her, even changing the words that come out of her mouth when she tries to warn the Riders of what's to happen. Best she can do at that point is believe in the two she's grown close to over the course of the show. She sees value in Kota and Kaito both, as well as their viewpoints. And unfortunately, she's unable to accomplish much else until a winner is decided.

OK. Well, I'm ready to accept it. Basically, in my version of Mai's arc, she tried to act at the beginning of the show, but it only made things worse, so in the end she decided not to act. It immediately turns out that she was forced to remain inactive. Either way, the result is the same.
