Wow...this makes me want to paint my kits, but I'm scared I'll mess them up

I hope this is the right place to ask this, but I recently bought the Super Mini-Pla kit for Galaxy Mega and was hoping one of you would know what paints or gundam markers would be best to detail him in lieu of stickers. They look good but I don't care to keep them, and I think something like this would be good to practice finer detail work. Thanks in advance!

VRV Minipla. Old kit, but got it for a great price.

Didn't do a full repaint, left the molded colors alone, but painted the details and used some of the stickers.

I'd love to see Super Minipla versions of the Turbo/Carranger zords. I've only seen the Turbo movie but always was a big fan of the car-themed zords.

Probably the best place to ask this, because I can't tell based on any images.
Are mini-pla closer to other candy toys like So-Do, or are they closer to actual models kits (basically should I get a model kit assembly pack before getting any Minipla)

They are definitely model kits. The parts come on sprues that you should be able to just push out but having tools is probably better.

I've got a sprue cutter I use for spare hands on So-Do. I was mainly wondering if things like tweezers or stuff are needed.

The only other thing that I use is an exacto/hobby knife to shave any excess plastic from the parts after taking them off the sprue. Tweezers I don't really use but could be helpful for stickers if you need.
