I saw episodes 17-26 of Kamen Rider OOO and damn is the show Brilliant and insane.
With Akira Date's debut, it introduces a friendly guy who is driven by his job in order to get 100 million yen. These two forces for me really create an interesting dynamic with Eiji. Gotou is also working hard in order to try to protect people. Combine with that the messed up relationship between Ankh and Eiji, Kizari and Uva along with Dr Maki thrown in and this show has amazing characterization. The relationship chart between all of the main characters (Eiji, Ankh, Uva, Kaziri, Dr. Maki, Goto, the President of Kougami, and Akira Date) makes a really insane fight that no one knows who is going to win or who is on what side. I like Kamen Rider Birth, not too overpowered and is presented as a Yin to Eiji's Yang. Cell medals and Cores working together. The fights are also more enjoyable as there is a lot more going on in fights now that we have 2 riders and a backup to protect our Yummy parent of the week. Instead of the previous fights in OOO where when a Greeed showed up along with a Yummy, it overpowered OOO now we have a better balance. I like the fact that random combos are being used more, it puts a lot more variety into the fights then just a Combo overpowering a Yummy and going into insta-win. No more can 2 Greeed show up and nearly kill OOO. Both sides have been balanced a lot more. However, with that being said. The yummies are getting more and more insane and the story truly shows that. The two parter with the Lion/Jellyfish Yummy did provide a lot of suspense with Eiji's condition and Akira Date being overpowered by the Yummy. It really did feel like the end when OOO was starting to get his butt kicked by the yummy. OOO turning into Tajador really did show the thin line between the villains winning and the desperateness that our good guys had. Latching onto whatever combo that falls into Ankh's hands does show the group is desperate. However, after the Parrot yummy two parter, I feel like the group is starting to gain more control over our villains with the reveal of Birth Day. I also like how OOO is going deeper into the concept desire and blurring the lines between true morals and good intention. Like the guy who wanted justice and the Hopper yummy accomplished that. Very smart writing that goes along with the insane relationships between the characters. Long story short, good episodes. BTW should I skip episodes 27 and 28 since it doesn't have much to do with OOO itself? |
I think there was a major plot development in those two episodes.
If not, don't skip them anyway. Never skip episodes unless it has to do with baking a cake or is Gekiranger's Christmas. |

And don't forget, there was this one time where Diend tried to destroy the world because Tsukasa didn't include him in his plan. I'd rather take an Iron Chef Kabuto Series than watch something that stupid again. |
