Like it has been said, it is a model kit, but you don't need tools (it is even written on the box).
I don't use tool when building, parts can be separated from the sprue without tools, it is reallyconvenient and quite clean.
If you go on the super minipla line, you will need tools to cut parts from sprue there.

I just finished assembling the Muteki Shogun Robo Minipla and I wasn't crazy about the stickers that go on the arms of each Giant Beast General.

Should I paint them silver and black like the show and other depictions? Or should I paint them a chrome silver like the original DX toys?

So uh....anybody have any idea where I might be able to find Daizyujin and Dragon Caesar for somewhat reasonable prices? I just can't justify spending $200+ on something that originally cost under $100...


Use chrome for the silver parts as an homage to the DX, but add the black detailing like the show

Mandarake occasionally has some hard to find items for reasonable prices.
Problem is just that you have to scour them often, since things come and go.

The problem, right now, with Mandarake is the shipping costs. If you're in the USA your only option is DHL, and their prices suck.

I just checked and they have both Daizyujin and Dragon Caesar on there, but they're store front item. What does that mean, exactly?

That's always a consideration, but with the prices they're listed on this site, even with DHL shipping it'll be less than ebay or mercari.

Oh, most definitely. But if you can arrange a group order, the prices are much more manageable.

Store front usually means you have to purchase them in person, but not always. Mandarake operates with multiple stores across Japan, so it kind of varies depending on which physical store it's in.

I appreciate the suggestion...but I specifically want a minipla of it. I just love the way minipla look and they're fun to assemble, plus I want it to match the rest of the collection (I have 5 other minipla, a few HG kits, and a few figures that are about the same height). The Minipla actually hold more value to me personally. (There's also the Hasbro version, which is more financially appealing than either SMP or SoC, but that has the same downsides as the SoC)

But yeah, that's a high price lol.

Do you think there's actually a possibility of a reprint? That would be ideal, but I don't want to hold out for a hypothetical reprint that never materializes while the option that's actually available to me becomes even further out of reach...
