Can someone explain Blue Destiny to me? I only know bits and peices from what little I've seen in one video game.

It's based around a system called EXAM, a system which contains the soul of a newtype woman, Marion Welch. It was supposed to be a mechanized substitute for Newtype abilities. Think of it as a very early version of what would eventually become the Cyber Newtype process. Professor Moses, who created the system, worked for Zeon and created one copy of EXAM for them before he defected to the Federation. The Zeon copy of the system was used for the Efreet Custom piloted by Nimbus Schterzen.

After Moses' defection he developed 3 more copies of the system for the Federation. The first was installed in the Blue Destiny Unit 1. Which was essentially a heavily modified GM painted blue. Yuu Kajima became it's pilot as a part of the Experimental Corps. Thanks to his efforts early in the war recovering a fully intact Zaku for Federation study. But his skills combined with his ability to communicate with Marion's soul within the EXAM system allowed him to defeat Nimbus and destroy the Efreet, whilst BD Unit 1 was also destroyed.

Zeon also knew that the Blue Destiny's unit 2 & 3 were being prepared for combat and so Nimbus stole Unit 2. Yuu pursued him, in Unit 3, into space. Marion needed him to destroy Unit 2, and eventually allow Unit 3 to be destroyed as well, in order to free her soul so that she could pass on. In the end Yuu did. And in fact he survived that battle (though Nimbus did not) and he survived the One Year War. It's actually documented that Yuu stayed with the Federation forces as an ace pilot all the way up through the second Neo Zeon. He never defected to the AUEG or joined the Titans. But because of his skills he did become a Londo Bell pilot and assisted in diverting axis from Earth during Char's Counterattack.

Sounds a little like the ZERO System in Wing. Also sounds like something screwed up ZEON would do. Is this an Nime or a Manga? Where does one go to look through this goodness?

I know Tokyo Pop published the Manga a long time ago.
