Daaaaamn that trailer looks awesome, can’t wait to see how this all plays out.

Sometime this week I'll be getting rid of my copies of Force Awakens and Rogue One. I don't want to own anything associated with Disney's Star Wars.

Probably like a spectacle of color and motion with a broken hodgepodge plot that breaks massively the moment you think about it. After all, there of been a lot of re-shoots and people working on it saying that there is no consensus on what the fuck is going on.

After this movie I want episodes X, XI, and XII to be about Kylo and a tech-savvy ewok just jumping from planet to planet Rick & Morty style. Of course, Kylo is Morty and the ewok is Rick.

I don't have a problem with people who like new Star Wars. What I have a problem with is people shouting at each other over who's the better fan yet just mindlessly consumes content/merchandise regardless of there being a clear issue with the brand in its current state. I don't think I've bought anything Star Wars related since after Rogue One came out on Blu-ray. Not out of protest but I lost interest in the brand after The Last Jedi. I rather spend my money on stuff I enjoy more. If you like new Star Wars ok go watch it. Don't whine about people that have an issue with them. Same with those who don't like the MCU. People are allowed to be critical of the content being produced without fear of others jumping down their throats for it. If you are someone that says it's ok not to like the MCU yet be a fan of Marvel Comics, but tell off fans of old Star Wars for not liking new Star Wars well then you are a hypocrite.

I don't really care about this franchise but the storyboard for episode 9 has leaked, showing full details for everything. Be wary of spoilers

Granted, looking her up now, she'll be in that Disney+ The Mandalorian show. Which you may have been referring to, but I interpreted it as "She isn't part of the franchise but should be."

Nope. Still waiting until AFTER I finally see Last Jedi when it premieres on TV Sunday. (AND NOBODY TELL ME OTHERWISE!!!)

Saw it earlier today (Monday). I give it a solid 7/10. Why? Because of Carrie Fischer (which pulled at my heartstrings), the excellent scenery, the FX, and Harrison Ford. The fighting choreography could have been better. But that's just me.

I have not seen it. I will, but I refuse to give Disney my money to see it in theaters. I know all the spoilers though. I honestly don't know how anyone could like the film. I mean if you do more power to you, but that does not sound like a good film in the slightest. If you like it either you have on rose colored glasses or you are amused by how bad it is. Again more power to you if you like it. I did not like the last two Star Wars outings, I am sure I won't like this one either.

I got a free movie pass to see Episode 9 at my job as a gift. I will probably see it soon.

I really really enjoyed Rise of Skywalker.

All three of the sequel trilogy have been quite enjoyable for me, 7 and 9 for evoking feelings of the original trilogy, 8 for doing the unexpected. They've all had great action sequences that felt tailor-made for me, and some stunning visual shots that I just adore.

Episodes 1-3 I'll probably never watch again, the bad has grown until it overshadows the good in those, sadly.

Some things can sound like bad ideas, if just told them outright. But sometimes, the artistry is in the telling of it, and therefore the enjoyment in the experiencing of it.

Or, maybe I'm just not a critical enough viewer, and that's fine too. Everybody else hates the Hobbit films, but I have three more movies I can enjoy watching. Who's better off? I'd like to think I am. :)

I loved Rise of Skywalker, as of right now it's probably my favorite Star Wars movie but that might change over time.

I enjoyed all three sequel movies for the most part, but I can kinda see the issues people had with it. There's really not a whole lot trilogy together, and while they introduced some cool new characters they focused way too much on the older stuff. It really feels like they made this new trilogy to cash in on the nostalgia of the older movies, and it's very evident with Force Awakens.

I feel like the prequels and sequels are equally bad for different reasons in my opinion. Some say that the prequels were better because they try to do something new and didn't rehash older movies.

I mean...even Phantom Menace rehashed parts from A New Hope.

Yeah I grasp the concept of visual story telling. Somethings do sound bad when explained as opposed to actually seeing it. Still the reactions it's getting plus my distaste for TLJ and Solo makes me cringe at all things said about this film. I am sure I still won't like it after my eventual viewing of the film.

A good or bad movie doesn't really need to be heavily criticized. Sometimes it's just an observation that the movie is either good or bad. Art at the end of the day is subjective.

The Yuuzhan Vong could be the antagonist in some future trilogy.

I liked it. I was never hyped for any of these newer movies so I just watched them "Because why not", fully knowing they will never take the place of the Expanded Universe for me.

I think TFA was the weakest one, purely because it really did feel like ANH all over again. On the other hand, among the three it is the only I still have a complete concept on what's happening, both TLJ and ROS feel a bit like endless blurs of scenes to me.

TLJ was better simply because it was something new, and I do enjoy a lot of takes this one has and was disappointed to see some of them completely ignored or straight up retconned.

Like, my biggest issue with ROS is the "You're a Palpatine"-line. Like, come the fuck on, this woman can't be a powerful force user without being related to someone we already know. Cut that line out and nothing really changes. Rey's parents were still hunted and killed by Sith loyalists, Sidious still wants her to continue their lineage, she still takes the surname Skywalker in honor of her teachers.

Also, sidelining Rose this hard felt deliberate and considering what kind of human scum hated on this character to no end I despise how validated they must feel now. I never really had a problem with Rose and fitting her in a bit more by cutting out Jannah (or at least give Jannah less screentime, at the end especially) could've worked out just fine.

That's all I disliked though. I really enjoyed the sceneries, the creepy Sith world especially. Like, can we just appreciate how deeply this movie ventures into Sith-lore? I love it. Before it was always two guys with red lightsabers running around in these movies, but an entire world filled with loyalists, the language being a thing (god I wish we saw a statue of a Sith Pureblood somewhere) and their entire fleet with their own Stormtroopers - that ruled.

If anything I wished it went even deeper. Like, we saw statues all over, I really wanted to see statues of Sith we know from the Expanded Universe. Exar Kun, Darth Revan, Darth Bane, Darth Plagueis... honestly the message of the one Sith and the throne of balance heavily reminded me of Darth Krayt from the EU.

Just seeing statues vaguely resembling those characters would've been awesome. I don’t know, for a movie that gets bashed for too much fan service I wanted even more :lol

What I liked best about the entire movie was the relationship between Kylo Ren and Rey though. I feel like over all three movies that's the most consistent factor they got right. The scenes in ROS were they talk to each other through the force and their locations merge were so good. I really liked how those were done visually, and also how these scenes added a layer to the force that's mysterious and new. Like - Kylo Ren just grabs a physical object off of Rey who stands light years away from him or how they use objects that blur into each other’s position to tell where the other is.

I don't think I quite understand the concept of it yet, but if I remember correctly it's basically that they are two halves of the same being in the force, or a convergence of two life forms that share one connection to the force. That was something new that I hadn't seen yet but is quite interesting.

So I actually think I like Rise of Skywalker best from the new trilogy.

Watched IX The Rise Of Skywalker on DVD last week. Weak ending with Rey. Other than that the movie as a whole was really good.

Empire Strikes Back officially released 40 years ago today!

The Mandalorian comes back October 30th! That makes me so happy; finally I'll be able to watch a season of this show without spoilers.
